Dog walkers saw the sunrise on Tynemouth beach

Hues of amber, indigo and orange lit up the skies over north east England this morning to the delight of the region's photographers.

Dog walkers and cargo ship workers were among those to see a spectacular sunrise show near Tynemouth beach, while BBC Weather Watchers were out in Redcar and Roker.

Dawn opened up over the horizon at North Tyneside at 06:21 BST, as meteorological autumn nudges on the shorter days.
