Tango is a conversation between two opposites, one steady and the other free, one stoic and the other sensual. The clothing reflects these contrasts, this eternal deciphering of the feelings expressed by the dance.

The clothes of the tango originated from the so-called compadritos: men, sons and grandsons of the gauchos (cowboys) who came from the outskirts, dressed in well-fitting suits and hats that reflected a mix of the rural and urban.

Shoes are key in tango. High heels allow women to move with grace and precision, while men's leather shoes offer sturdiness and control with every step. Tango shoes are more than an accessory, they are an extension of the body.

Cinema and art played a fundamental role in creating the iconic look of male and female tango dancers. This image of impeccable style, a hat and a red dress, was personified by the old-guard tango poets.

Small details add the finishing touch to a dancer's look. Gloves, scarves, and other items may be subtle additions, but play a key role in projecting an image, and each dancer pays tribute to the Buenos Aires tradition.
