# Aircraft Fleets Dataset

> Explore airline fleets and aircraft metadata worldwide, with optional latest known position fields.

Augment your product with aircraft fleet data: display aircraft model/type, estimate fleet age, enrich flight tracking experiences, and improve the overall quality of information in your UI.

### Authentication

**x-api-key** `string` *required*

Your FlyStack API token. You can create one from the dashboard (see [Authentication](https://docs.flystack.dev/authentication.md)).

### Query parameters

#### Pagination

**limit** `number`

Max number of rows per response: 100 by default, up to 1,000 (limits may depend on your plan).

**offset** `number`

Pagination offset (0+). When more rows match, the response has the headers `X-Has-More: true` and `X-Next-Offset`: pass its value as `offset` to get the next page.

#### Filters

**airline\_iata** `string`

Filter by airline IATA code (e.g., `AA`).

**airline\_icao** `string`

Filter by airline ICAO code (e.g., `AAL`).

**hex** `string`

Filter by ICAO24 hex address.

**reg\_number** `string`

Filter by aircraft registration number.

**msn** `string`

Filter by manufacturer serial number (MSN).

**flag** `string`

Filter by country ISO-2 code.

#### Response shaping

**\_fields** `string`

Comma-separated list of fields to return (e.g., `hex,airline_iata,manufacturer`).

> [!NOTE]
>
> Latest GEO fields (lat/lng/alt/dir/speed/v\_speed/squawk/last\_seen) are typically available when querying by `msn`, `hex`, or `reg_number` (coverage may vary).

### Response

The endpoint returns a list of aircraft.

#### Aircraft fleet response fields

**Identifiers**

**hex** `string`

ICAO24 hex address.

**reg\_number** `string`

Aircraft registration number (when available).

**flag** `string`

Country of registration of the aircraft (ISO-2 code, when available).

**airline\_icao** `string`

Airline ICAO code (when available).

**airline\_iata** `string`

Airline IATA code (when available).

**Aircraft type**

**icao** `string`

Aircraft ICAO type designator (e.g., `B77W`).

**iata** `string`

Aircraft IATA type designator (e.g., `77W`).

**model** `string`

Full aircraft model name (when available).

**manufacturer** `string`

Aircraft manufacturer (when available).

**msn** `string`

Manufacturer serial number (when available).

**line** `string`

Manufacturer line number (when available).

**type** `string`

Aircraft type (e.g., `landplane`, `helicopter`, `amphibian`, `drone`, ...).

**category** `string`

Wake turbulence category (e.g., `J`, `H`, `M`, `L`).

**Engines & age**

**engine** `string`

Engine type (e.g., `jet`, `piston`, `electric`, ...).

**engine\_count** `string`

Number of engines (when available).

**built** `number`

Built year (when available).

**age** `number`

Aircraft age (years, when available).

**Latest known position (optional)**

**lat** `number`

Latitude (when available).

**lng** `number`

Longitude (when available).

**alt** `number`

Altitude (when available).

**dir** `number`

Heading (when available).

**speed** `number`

Speed (km/h, when available).

**v\_speed** `number`

Vertical speed (m/s, positive when climbing, when available).

**squawk** `string`

Squawk code (when available).

**last\_seen** `number`

Latest signal time (when available).
