Intergovernmental Affairs (IGA)
Our Mission
The Intergovernmental Affairs (IGA) function serves as an enhanced bridge between CISA and State, Local, Tribal, and Territorial (SLTT) governments. Our goal is to empower partners at every level of government to defend against the challenges of today and the looming threats of tomorrow. Our mission is and always will be to protect the American people and homeland from those who wish to harm them.
Our Focus
We want to expand CISA's consistent, trusted, and proactive communication between CISA and SLTT stakeholders throughout the country. And to promote CISA-wide initiatives, products, and achievements directly to elected and appointed officials on all levels of SLTT government.
- 2026 Initiatives
- Establishing State Cyber Reserves
- Assist states and territories in the establishment of a cyber reserve program or function.
- Strengthening State UAS and C-UAS Capabilities
- Facilitate state and territorial Counter-Unmanned Aircraft Systems (C-UAS) Coordination Charters and promotion of FEMA's C-UAS Grant Program to assist governments with funding opportunities.
- Establishing State Cyber Reserves
What We Do
- Direct Engagement: We provide a single point of contact for governors, mayors, tribal leaders, and territorial officials to access CISA’s expertise and resources and help connect them with the CISA resource to expedite their request.
- Resource Awareness: We promote CISA’s no-cost cybersecurity services, including vulnerability scanning, phishing assessments, and Cyber Hygiene programs.
- Grant Support: We connect SLTT partners with avenues to access funding opportunities through the State and Local Cybersecurity Grant Program (SLCGP) and Tribal Cybersecurity Grant Program (TCGP).
- Information Sharing: We strengthen collaboration and streamline communication through themed roundtables and fly-ins, meetings with our Regional Office experts, and attending local and national cyber conferences and other events.
