SAF FOUNDER TO BRADY PRESIDENT: YOU WERE WRONG, HERES PROOF

July 11, 2007 - The founder of the Second Amendment Foundation today said he will supply Brady Campaign President Paul Helmke with documentation on the text book case from Missouri that helped convince that states legislature to pass a Stand-Your-Ground law to protect citizens from criminal or civil prosecution when they shoot in self-defense. In a series of debates with SAF founder Alan Gottlieb last week, Helmke told MSNBC viewers that he has been unable to identify anybody who has ever been sued and suffered financially for shooting in self-defense. Helmke is sadly uninformed, and were going to educate him, Gottlieb said. July 10, 2007 - BELLEVUE, WA Applauding the blunt honesty of Oldmans Township, NJ Mayor Harry Moore in his resignation letter to New York Mayor Michael Bloombergs anti-gun Mayors Against Illegal Guns, the Second Amendment Foundation today said Moores candor should be an inspiration to everyone who opposes political demagoguery. Mr. Moore is the sixth mayor to quit the coalition. (Read More...)

ANTI-GUN MAYORS HYPOCRISY BLASTED BY SECOND AMENDMENT FOUNDATION

June 28, 2007 - BELLEVUE, WA Several members of New York Mayor Michael Bloombergs anti-gun Mayors Against Illegal Guns coalition are annoyed by freedom of information requests about their activities from a California law firm, yet these same mayors have no problem demanding complete access to sensitive gun trace data. The Second Amendment Foundation today said the mayors are practicing a double standard and are guilty of world class hypocrisy. SAF founder Alan Gottlieb pointed to a remark from Joseph Arellano in San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsoms office, who contended that the information being sought by the law firm of Trutanich Michel is privileged. (Read More...)

GONZALES WANTS ARBITRARY POWER TO BLOCK GUN PURCHASES; SAF SAYS HE SHOULD RESIGN

May 1, 2007 - BELLEVUE, WA Attorney General Alberto Gonzales troubling support of legislation that would allow him and future attorneys general the arbitrary power to block firearms purchases without due process is cause for him to step down as the nations highest ranking law enforcement officer, the Second Amendment Foundation said today. April 19, 2007 - BELLEVUE, WA Alarming new details about Virginia Tech gunman Cho Seung-Hui underscore the importance of a citizens individual right to keep and bear arms, the Second Amendment Foundation said today. There were abundant warning signs that Cho posed a serious threat to the campus community, said SAF founder Alan Gottlieb, yet here he was running loose and committing mayhem. And all that seems to be on the minds of many in the media and at the offices of gun control extremists is figuring out how to exploit this horrible tragedy to erode and eventually destroy the right, and the means, of self-defense.
