   Description:
   Pink Ribbon Walk (PRW), organised by Breast Cancer Foundation (BCF), returns to Event Square @ Waterfront Promenade on 3 October 2015. The walk aims to bring breast cancer fighters, survivors and supporters together in a symbolic 3.2km walk with Ms Low Yen Ling, Parliamentary Secretary, Ministry of Social and Family Development and Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth, as this year’s Guest-of-Honour. Ms Low is also the Mayor of the South West District.

   Apart from emphasising the importance of a healthy lifestyle, PRW also hopes to raise awareness of breast cancer amongst others who are unfamiliar with or unaware of the gravity of the disease. This event is in conjunction with the internationally recognised Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

   Come join in the fun activities for young and old at the carnival taking place before the walk. Commencing at 2pm at the Waterfront Promenade’s Event Square, the carnival is open to members of the public. Event partners and sponsors include local household names such as Sufood, Essilor Crizal, WINX, Pangdemonium, Nestlé Fitnesse, Jean Yip, Blackmores®, Physical ABuse, and many more.

   With an estimated turnout of 6,000 participants, expect waves of pink – the internationally recognised colour for breast cancer awareness – to take over Singapore’s evening skyline as the walk flags off at 5pm.

   Registration is now open at http://www.pinkribbonsingapore.com. All participants will receive a PRW tee-shirt, goodie bag and a chance to win great prizes in the lucky draw. They will also be able to mingle with the cast from Pangdemonium’s upcoming play, Chinglish, as well as fairies from WINX.

   BREAST CANCER FOUNDATION
   Breast Cancer Foundation (BCF) is a non-profit organisation set up in 1997 with the mission to eradicate breast cancer as a life-threatening disease. Being an advocacy group, BCF propagates awareness and education through talks, events, exhibitions and publications, and advocates early detection through regular screening. Support and volunteer programmes are organised for survivors and their family members, caregivers and volunteers through counselling, training, empowerment and ‘Healing Through The Arts’ activities. BCF is one of the few breast cancer advocacy groups in the world with a Men’s Support League to emphasise men’s role in society’s fight against this affliction.    Event Name: Charity Bike ‘n’ Blade 2015
   Date: 4 – 6 September 2015

   The description of the event is as follows:

   Come 4 to 6 September 2015, up to 130 cycling and inline-skating enthusiasts will once again set foot in Malaysia for a good cause. Now in its 10th edition, Charity Bike ‘n’ Blade 2015 will see participants digging deep into their reserves to go the distance in this take-no-prisoners marathon along a 300km Desaru-Mersing-Desaru route.

   The event aims to raise S$500,000 for the St. Andrew’s Community Hospital and The Salvation Army Peacehaven Nursing Home’s programmes that provide dedicated dementia care for their patients and clients. Organised and fully supported by volunteers, Charity Bike ‘n’ Blade has attracted participants and crew from all walks of life to raise funds for the elderly, sick, and youth-at-risk, in the process raising public awareness for the various causes.

   Description:

   As part of including the community and to tap on Singaporean’s love for mass sport events, we are pleased to announce three events that are open to people from all walks of life. To be held alongside 28th SEA Games Marathon and and Triathlon, Nila Swim & Aquathlon and Nila Run offer once in a lifetime opportunity to sporting enthusiasts! Non-competitive in nature, the events promise to reward all who complete the races with a commemorative event tee and a medal, to name a few.

   The Nila Swim & Aquathlon will be taking place at the East Coast Park on 6 June 2015 (Saturday) which is also the same day as the Women’s SEA Games Triathlon event.

   The Nila Run takes place on 7 June 2015 (Sunday) and requires runners to complete a distance of 10Km. The race starts 10 minutes after the SEA Games Marathon runners have been flagged off.
