Arr, me lads and lassies. Bring ye crew down to The Wharf on Wednesdays throughout the summer for a swashbuckling good time at the Pepsi Treasure Hunt! Stop by Marlin Circle first to get your Pepsi treasure map and the quest is on. Find the items on the map then return back to where “X” marks the spot to collect your treasure! Stay for our nightly SPECTRA Laser Light Experience and see Pirate Philippe “Stinky” Lafitte, brother of the infamous pirate Jean Lafitte. Sail along with the fumbling, bumbling Stinky and gang of scallywags as they head towards New Orleans to pillage, plunder and hide their haul of gold on the Gulf Coast.

Join us every Thursday for Music Under The Marlins. Featuring live music from local bands each week, it’s a great time to unwind and get ready for the weekend. Grab a drink in the Entertainment District and enjoy two different bands each week playing from 5-7 pm and 7-9 pm. Paint Art Live will also be offering take-and-make kits for at-home painting. The cost is $10 per kit, which includes all supplies and guided instructions. So, make plans to come out and enjoy the bands!

This exhibition of photographs documents the everyday activities and rituals of one extended black family, the Thorntons, in Mobile and Shady Grove, Alabama, during segregation. The images were originally published in a 1956 photo essay by Parks, an assignment from Life magazine after the Montgomery bus boycotts, but have come to be known around the world for helping to inspire the Civil Rights movement.

These photographs are lent to MMofA by the Gordon Parks Foundation. Throughout the exhibition, MMofA is also partnering with area African American organizations on programs in various disciplines: film, poetry, visual arts and civil rights history.
