A pair of leaked teasers for Samsung's upcoming Galaxy S23 smartphones have confirmed a key detail about the device and offered a glimpse into some of their camera-centric features. Samsung is expected to launch the Galaxy S23 series at its next Galaxy Unpacked event on Feb. 1. The lineup is expected to feature three devices, including the Galaxy S23, S23+, and S23 Ultra. Various leaks over the past few months have revealed some of their key tech specs, even though Samsung has stayed away from officially sharing any details.
Prolific tipster Ice Universe has posted a couple of leaked Galaxy S23 teasers that offer a preview of what Samsung's upcoming devices will feature. One of the teasers mentions a 'Mode for moonlight' and 'Stunning night photos,' possibly highlighting a new and improved night mode that could offer more clarity with less noise, even in low-light scenes. The second teaser concentrates on the high resolution of the main sensor with messages like 'Wow-worthy resolution' and 'Megapixels that will make you say wow.'
Galaxy S23 Series Coming Next Month
It's understandable why Samsung would want to market it the upgraded camera as one of its next-gen flagships leading features, with high-quality night photography becoming increasingly important in premium smartphones. The teaser about the high resolution seems to confirm rumors that the Galaxy S23 Ultra will ship with a 200MP camera. Both the teasers also appear to confirm that the Galaxy S23 and S23+ will come with a triple-camera setup, while the high-end S23 Ultra is tipped to have a quad-camera setup.
The latest leak doesn't reveal anything else about the Galaxy S23-series devices, but a slew of leaks over the past few months have left little to the imagination. Early specs leaks suggested that the S23 Ultra will be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, paired with up to 12GB of RAM and 1TB of built-in storage. Apart from the rumored 200MP primary camera, that's based on an upgraded version of the ISOCELL HP1 sensor, the Ultra will come with a 10MP telephoto camera with 10x optical zoom, a second 10MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom, and a 12MP ultrawide shooter. The device is also expected to sport a 5,000mAh battery and run Android 13 with One UI 5 on top.
The Galaxy S23 Ultra is rumored to come in four colors, including Black, Green, Rose (Light Pink), and Beige. Like its predecessor, the device will likely have a built-in stylus to make it well-suited for creatives and professionals. In more disappointing news, rumors also claim that the S23 devices could be priced higher than their predecessors. All will be revealed at the Galaxy S23 launch event on Feb. 1.
