Dominic Hughes

As the BBC’s health and global health correspondent, Dominic covers a wide range of issues, including the NHS, new treatments and disease outbreaks. He was a political reporter before realising his dream of becoming a foreign correspondent, based in Sydney. He covered the Iraq War and served as Europe correspondent, from Brussels. He is now based in Salford, having moved north with his family in 2011. He has not looked back and as a result, he’s a keen walker and cyclist, taking full advantage of the glorious hills of the Peak District, the Yorkshire Dales, the Lakes and beyond.
