Punjabi singer Diljit Dosanjh’s upcoming Delhi concert on October 30 has faced a setback after Delhi Police denied permission for the event. The concert was scheduled to take place at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, with the police citing security reasons, ANI reported.
Notably, Diljit Dosanjh’s Delhi concert is part of his Aura India Tour 2026. Earlier in October, the singer announced the seven-city tour, which will cover Delhi-NCR, Indore, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chandigarh and Lucknow. However, the Delhi concert reportedly failed to receive security clearance after police reviewed the request to organise the event.

According to a letter reportedly addressed to ticketing platform BookMyShow by the office of the Deputy Commissioner of Police, South Delhi, permission for the concert could not be granted due to threat-related inputs, security requirements during the festive season and other law and order concerns.
After reviewing the application submitted by BookMyShow to organise the event at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on October 30, the police stated that the decision was taken due to security concerns. The ongoing festive season and other important law and order responsibilities have also presented challenges in terms of security arrangements. Taking these circumstances into account, the police said they were unable to grant permission for the event.

The Delhi Police denied permission for the concert due to security concerns and law and order duties. With the festive season approaching, the police have additional security responsibilities across the capital.
Given the possibility of a large number of fans attending Diljit Dosanjh's concert, security management could be a key concern. However, the police have not made detailed information publicly available in the letter. Organisers are yet to clarify the next steps, and it remains unclear whether the concert scheduled for October 30 will go ahead.
Further details about the Delhi concert and the impact of the decision on Diljit Dosanjh’s tour are awaited. Fans who were looking forward to attending the show will have to wait for further updates from the organisers and authorities.
Before announcing the India leg of his Aura World Tour 2026, Diljit has performed in multiple countries in North America, Europe and Australia.
