We are proud to announce that Endeavor Health has officially joined the Chicago Breast Cancer Research Consortium, marking the alliance's first expansion since its launch by the Lynn Sage Breast Cancer Foundation. By uniting with University of Chicago Medicine Comprehensive Cancer Center, the Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center of Northwestern University and RUSH MD Anderson Cancer Center, four of the region’s leading health systems will share expertise, resources, data and clinical-trial opportunities. The Consortium was established to reduce barriers to breast cancer clinical trials and address persistent disparities in outcomes. Its collaborative model allows researchers to share knowledge and infrastructure while helping more patients access innovative studies closer to where they live and receive care. "A patient's ZIP code should never determine their access to the latest cancer therapies," shares Ted James, MD, MHCM. When Beatrice’s son, Briceson, was born unexpectedly at just 23 weeks, she felt overwhelmed, heartbroken and deeply scared. No one could have prepared her for the micro-preemie journey ahead. Then, she met Katelyn Pubentz, BSN, RN, a NICU nurse at Endeavor Health Edward Hopsital, who would quickly become much more than a caregiver — she became family. Beatrice recently honored Katelyn by presenting her with a DAISY Award for her life-saving care and deep compassion. Here are some excerpts from her incredibly powerful nomination: "Katelyn became more than just Briceson's nurse... she made me feel as though she was caring for her own child. She remained professional but still made each and every interaction personal. She advocated for me and my son when I may have been too weak or too sad." "There were days when things became stressful, and Katelyn would sit with me, reassure me, and encourage me to be strong and take care of myself because I was just as important as my son...Katelyn never made me feel rushed, always listened, and ultimately made this experience less stressful. She has taught me to live in the moment by taking the small wins as big victories." Beatrice shared, "I know I would not have been able to get through the days without the support and care Katelyn has provided. I see Katelyn as one of the superheroes who ensured that my son continued to meet those milestones necessary for me to bring baby Briceson home." Congratulations to Mark from Endeavor Health Glenbrook Hospital for being awarded the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses! "Mark was very patient and spoke with my dad in a gentle soothing tone to calm him down. He took the time to listen to him and do whatever was needed to make him comfortable. He had to stay with my dad in PACU the entire time. He showed compassion and understanding towards my father and family members. When it came time to transport him back to his room instead of handing him off to the transporter, he accompanied my dad to his room to ensure that nothing happened for which I am grateful for. He then assisted the floor tech in getting my Dad set up in his room. He displays exceptional customer service for which he should be recognized for." Way to go, Mark! 👏 #OurEndeavor

Endeavor Health's very own Dr. Liana Billings led a new medical study on the next frontier of "combination" GLP-1 therapies. The study looked at a new way to help people lose weight by combining two different medicines to work together at the same time. People in the study lost an average of 23.3% of their body weight in less than a year, rivaling bariatric surgery.
