Through the courts and tribunals we give people and businesses access to justice, including: - victims and witnesses of crime - defendants accused of crimes - consumers in debt or with other disputes - people involved in the adoption or protection of children - businesses involved in commercial disputes - individuals asserting their employment rights or challenging the decisions of government bodies - people affected by relationship breakdown We follow the Ministry of Justice’s strategic vision for reform, to create a more effective, less costly and more responsive justice system for the public. ℹ️ From 1 October 2026, hearing information for the Business and Property Courts is being simplified. Most Rolls Building hearing lists will be consolidated into a single publication, the Business and Property Division Rolls Building Daily Cause List. This reflects the creation of the new Business and Property Division, which replaces the Chancery Division as part of updates to the High Court's structure. If you already subscribe to a Rolls Building list through the Court and Tribunal Hearings (CaTH) service, you don't need to do anything. Your subscription will transfer automatically to the new consolidated list. The Interim Applications List will remain separate, due to its specialist requirements. This change means fewer lists to check, fewer subscription emails, and a more straightforward way to access hearing information. Celebrating our people and their achievements 👏 Today, we gathered at the Royal Courts of Justice in London to celebrate the HMCTS Awards, recognising the outstanding dedication, achievements and contributions of colleagues from across the organisation. The awards are always a highlight of the year, bringing people together to celebrate the individuals and teams whose expertise, commitment and hard work help keep our courts and tribunals running effectively. It was also a privilege to welcome Sarah Sackman KC MP and Dr Jo Farrar CB OBE in person, underlining the importance of recognising the incredible work taking place across HMCTS and the wider justice system. A huge thank you to all our staff for your continued hard work, commitment and professionalism. Your efforts make a real difference and help ensure people can access justice when they need it.

Have you ever visited the Royal Courts of Justice? This Saturday 19 September the Royal Courts of Justice (RCJ) is hosting an open day from 10am to 4pm, which is free to all visitors. The RCJ was opened by Queen Victoria in 1882 and was designed by architect George Edmund Street. Did you know that it's home to both the Court of Appeal and the High Court, and there are over 3.5 miles of corridors in the building? Visitors to the RCJ this weekend can view the costume gallery display, try on judge's wigs and robes, watch a 'mock trial', see the intricate details of the Main Hall in person and much more. Come and take a look!
