But did you know that it’s also the home of the nation’s first Methodist church? The Lovely Lane Methodist Church, also known as the Mother Church of American Methodism, is the principal church of a congregation that began in Baltimore in 1784. The original structure occupied what is today known as 206 E. Redwood Street, while the church designed by architect Stanford White as a Centennial Monument to the founding of American Methodism was completed in 1884. It stands proudly open for visitors weekdays at 2200 St. Paul Street. #TBT

Today, prime contractors, subcontractors, and industry partners gathered for the MTA’s Transit Industry Day to explore upcoming procurement opportunities and growth strategies across Maryland's transit sector. This is a part of the Moore-Miller Administration's vision of connecting all Marylanders to opportunity and to each other. MTA Administrator Tony Bridges reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to strong partnerships, emphasizing that expanding access for small and local businesses powers all four of MTA's core pillars: Safety, World-Class Customer Experience, Innovation, and Connectedness. Attendees also gained actionable insights from Secretary Walter L. Simmons of the Maryland Department of Social and Economic Mobility on driving economic growth, alongside keynote speaker Odessa Phillip, President and CEO of Assedo Consulting, who shared strategies for scaling a contracting firm.

  • The Moore-Miller Administration is #SeriousAboutSafety and so is MTA Administrator Tony Bridges. He’s established safety for our passengers, operators and the public at large as a foundational pillar of MTA services, and you can see that commitment demonstrated regularly throughout MTA. For example, over this past weekend our MARC Team engaged in their annual full-scale exercise to evaluate and improve preparedness for safety and security incidents. The hours-long event reflected months of planning by the MARC Team and other train service stakeholders. Thank you to all the public service departments that participated, including BWI Fire, Fort Meade Fire and EMS, Anne Arundel Alarmers, Amtrak Police, MTA Police, Amtrak and Alstom for your partnership and commitment to safety. #SeriousAboutSafety

  • 90 minutes down to 30. That's not a typo, that's the new 411T Commuter Bus route. White Marsh, Golden Ring and Essex now have a direct line to Tradepoint Atlantic, giving Baltimore County workers more time for what matters and less time stuck in traffic. It's part of the Moore-Miller administration's vision of connecting all Marylanders to opportunity and to each other.
