What does 140 years of Westinghouse look like? 💡 It looks like families sharing stories across generations. It looks like a sense of pride that grows over time. It looks like people who remain connected through a shared history and purpose. The Goossen family is one example of the community that has grown alongside Westinghouse over the last 140 years. Laura Goossen has been part of the Westinghouse team for more than 16 years. Her family's connection to the company also includes her husband, Chris, who spent nearly two decades at Westinghouse, her father-in-law, John Goossen, whose career in R&D left a lasting impact on the company, and her grandfather, Ira McKeag, who worked for decades at the Churchill facility.  Today, that connection lives on through a new generation, with Laura's son Weston proudly dressing as George Westinghouse for a school presentation on influential figures in history.  While Weston’s future is still being written, his family's connection to Westinghouse has already given him a unique appreciation for the company's history and legacy. Maybe one day he'll help write the next chapter himself.  Our innovations have helped shape the industry, but it's the people, families and relationships behind them that have made Westinghouse what it is today and will help carry its legacy into the future. #Westinghouse140 #NuclearEnergy #Innovation

🌍 The International Law Association (INLA) Congress 2026 brought together experts from industry, government, regulatory bodies, legal practice, and academia to explore the theme: Powering the Nuclear Future: Law, Investment and the Next Generation. Westinghouse was proud to be part of the conversation, sharing insights and collaborating with leaders from across the global nuclear sector. Joel Eacker, PgMP, PMP, P.E., Senior Vice President APX Projects EMEA, joined the Reflections since the Warsaw Congress 2024 panel, discussing the progress made since the last Congress and sharing his aspirations for what the next congress could entail. Said Roubi, P.Eng, PMP, Principal Project Manager, presented his paper How Contract Strategies Must Evolve to Succeed in the Contemporary Nuclear Industry, contributing to important discussions on the International Nuclear Trade / New Build: Contracting for New Nuclear panel. During the Westinghouse sponsored drinks and dinner reception, Joe Pricener, Assistant General Counsel, and Claire Peers, EHS Director, welcomed delegates from around the world for an evening of networking, discussion and collaboration across the international nuclear community. Thank you to Kyle Haustveit, P.E., Under Secretary of Energy at the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), for visiting our Bridge Street innovation hub in Etna, Pennsylvania! We took Sec. Haustveit on a tour of the facility just outside Pittsburgh where we are developing innovations that we believe will accelerate a fleet deployment of advanced AP1000® modular reactors in the U.S. in partnership with U.S. DOE Office of Energy Dominance Financing (EDF). He also got an up-close look at our eVinci microreactor, which recently achieved zero-power high-temperature criticality at Los Alamos National Laboratory and in partnership with National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) and the Nevada National Security Sites. Westinghouse is excited to continue working together for America's nuclear energy future!

Get ready for the next generation of nuclear fuel to be produced at our manufacturing facility in South Carolina! Westinghouse today announced that we are investing nearly $1 billion to expand our Columbia Fuel Fabrication Facility, enabling commercial-scale LEU+ fuel manufacturing. This advanced fuel will increase the power generated and enhance the safety of fuel used at nuclear power plants across the United States. The expansion also marks a new era for the Columbia facility, where a local workforce of more than 1,200 professionals has been leading nuclear fuel innovation for the past six decades. The site already provides the fuel that accounts for 10% of the entire United States’ electricity needs. The new LEU+ plant will be the first fleet-scale nuclear fuel factory built in the U.S. in more than 50 years. Operations are expected to begin in 2030. 🌿 Our Springfields employees joined Workington Nature Partnership volunteers and local sixth-form students at Siddick Ponds Nature Reserve in Cumbria, tackling practical projects to enhance this important habitat and community space. The day offered opportunities to connect, share experiences and introduce students to Westinghouse’s work in West Cumbria and at Springfields. Conversations continued over lunch at a nearby charity café that provides valuable work experience for adults with learning disabilities.
