Film Noir, Crime Thriller - 67 Minutes - 1955
Stanley Kubrick's second feature is a short, relatively straightforward story of a washed-up boxer who tries to leave the big city with his new lady friend in tow, but she's been snatched up by her evil boss. Though it ends on a happier note than practically all of Kubrick's later fare, it's fun to see him experimenting with unexpected angles and camera techniques that he would employ to greater effect down the line.
