Education belongs to ALL. Yet not all have access to it. Global efforts to achieve universal education are not enough. The numbers prove it. In 2022, more than 250 million children & youth were not going to school, with an increase of 6 million over the previous year. Poverty and inequalities, climate displacement, gender discrimination, conflicts … there are many the barriers that are depriving these children and youth from their right to education, and robbing them of their future. If we are to build a world that respects human rights, addressing the obstacles preventing children and youth from exercising their right to education must be a global priority. Only together, with international cooperation, more investment, targeted interventions can we break down all these barriers and ensure that every child and youth, regardless of their circumstances, have the opportunity to go to school, learn and have a future that allows them to thrive and participate fully in society. Water, whether freshwater or saltwater, is essential to life. 💦 🌊 No living thing on planet Earth can survive without it. ♻️ Water is at the heart of sustainable development and is essential to socio-economic development, energy and food production, the health of ecosystems and the survival of humankind. 💧 Water is also important for wildlife! Unhealthy ecosystems impact animals and humans alike. For life on earth to continue, it is important to protect our ecosystems, which function thanks to the interconnection between all living things, of which humans are an integral part. 🇰🇪 In Kenya, the Water for Wildlife project began with the initiative of a citizen who gave water to wild animals, who were thirsty due to ongoing drought. Since then, an entire water management system has been put in place. The aim? Peaceful coexistence between humans and animals, guaranteeing a healthy balance for the local flora and fauna. More than 400 teachers and educators from 90 countries rolled up their sleeves to join the action!
