Atlanta named among America’s fastest-growing economies in new ranking

Over the past year, Atlanta has experienced some of the most rapid economic growth among the country’s largest metros.

That's according to personal finance website WalletHub's latest ranking on America's fastest-growing large cities, a study based on local economic growth.

To come up with the list, analysts at WalletHub compared 515 cities of varying population sizes based on two key dimensions: socioeconomics and jobs/economy.

Using 15 relevant metrics, such as population growth, job growth, increase in number of businesses among others, the analysts then scored the cities according to population size.

Researchers collected 2010-2016 data from a variety of sources, including the U.S. Census Bureau and the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
