Hi anyone who's still here!
I'm looking for a fic I remember.

A slavery AU: Stephen goes to slave markets as "Stephen" and buys up slaves so Sam and Jason can secretly transport them to Canada. The latest batch of slaves is Aasif, Olivia, a couple others I think, and Jon. Jon is too injured to make the trip, so stays with Stephen while he heals.

I remember a phrase something like "There are things he wants to tell Stephen, and things he doesn't want to but would if he asked."

Anyone remember this?

I know I'm probably shouting into an empty void seeing as the last post was from 2017 but I was wondering if anyone still has access to the fics:
Crush
The Word
Paint It Black
Brick Is Red
Gunshy
(Got them now, thanks guys!)

I would also love to have read Bad Moon Rising by Lady Vanilla but it's friend locked.

If anyone does happen to read this then I hope you are ok after the year that was 2020.

Thanks

Hi chaps and chapettes, long time no post. I never left this fandom and have been lurking enjoying all of your works, life has simply got in the way of me posting. Here's the second and third part of the fic I posted in which Jon works for Conan on his show and meets Stephen. I've had these lying around since I posted the first part. So here it is chaps,

The contents of this fic do not represent the personalities of or the actions of those whose names it uses, I am not a psychic. Please do not sue.

Don't expect any more of this soon as I am working on several original personal projects and if I gt distracted by fanfics I will cry, however if I do get distracted by fanfics- I will see you soon!

With both Yuletide 2016 and Yuletide Madness 2016 open, here's our annual roundup of fake-news-relevant fics!

(Related, if you can stomach it this year: 4 works in Political RPF - US 21st-century.)

The Truthiness about Cats and Dogs (676 words) by Anonymous

For the prompts: "Stephen"/his-not-very-well-disguised-desire-for-dudes, so you can anywhere you want with that: his canon lusting after Jon, Tad, and pretty much everybody (I feel like Even Stepvhens is criminally under-represented as a pairing in fic), and Stephen having serious issues.

Title: The Valley Of The Shadow Of Zen
Rating: Explicit
Contents: Sex, BDSM in various permutations
Characters/pairings: Jon/"Stephen"
Disclaimer: #NotIntendedToBeAFactualStatement. Characters belong to the Report. Names of real people are used in a fictitious context, and all dialogue, actions, and content are products of the author's imagination only.

This is a peaks-and-valleys AU, basically a D/s AU on a sine wave. Humans cycle from being dominant to being submissive and back, and the ideal partner is one whose peaks line up neatly with your valleys.

Jon has long, leisurely swings, and by adulthood is pretty good at managing his moods. "Stephen", naturally, will rocket from valley to peak and back in the space of a week. Snapshots of their friendship, and then romance, in different combinations over the years.

( 'You can't gag me and expect me to answer questions at the same time, you know.' / 'I don't see why not! It's a free country.' )

Inspired by "Stephen" and Jon's RNC appearance on the Late Show - I got fascinated by the question of how it was that they and Late Show Stephen came to coexist in one place, and, well, a long, weird Stephen & "Stephen" reality-hopping friendship fic was born.

Title: The Man in the Mirror (or: Persona Non Drama)
Pairings: "Stephen"/Stephen, "Stephen"/Jon, "Stephen" & Stephen friendship
Rating: PG
Word Count: 11,400
Summary: A tale of two Stephens.
Disclaimer: This story is a work of fiction set within the world of the Colbert Report TV show, and any names shared by real people refer to their fictionalised TV counterparts. Depictions in this story are not intended to represent anyone's genuine opinions or real-life actions.

Title: Can I Keep Him?
Rating: G
Cast: Jon/"Stephen", Caesar Flickolbert, Caligula
Disclaimer: #NotIntendedToBeAFactualStatement. Characters belong to the Report. Names of real people are used in a fictitious context, and all dialogue, actions, and content are products of the author's imagination only.

After his trip to the Republican convention, "Stephen" comes home to the cabin...and he brought a friend.

( At his side stood...another Stephen. Or at least, another of Stephen's weird doppelgängers — and between the zebra-patterned suit, giant neck bow, and bouffant pile of blue hair towering six inches over his forehead, this one was weirder than most. )

Thanks for the lovely response to my first fic - great to see there are still people reading in this fandom! I now bring you a much longer Jon/"Stephen" fic:

Title: A Man's Best Friend
Pairing: "Stephen"/Jon
Rating: PG-13
Warnings: Off-screen pet death (from old age).
Word Count: 19,500
Summary: Jon reaches out to Stephen after the death of his beloved dog Gipper, and things begin to change for both of them.
Notes: Set in a vaguely AU-ish 2008 with fictional TDS/TCR episodes and an OC as a guest. This version of "Jon" is childless and divorced.
Disclaimer: This story is a work of fiction set within the world of the Colbert Report TV show, and any names shared by real people refer to their fictional character counterparts in that world. Depictions in this story are not intended to represent anyone's genuine opinions or real-life actions.

Fic (on AO3): A Man's Best Friend

Title: How Far I've Gone, How High I've Climbed
Rating: T
Contents:
Characters/pairings: Jon/"Stephen", Steve, Sam, astronauts
Disclaimer: #NotIntendedToBeAFactualStatement. Characters belong to the Report. Names of real people are used in a fictitious context, and all dialogue, actions, and content are products of the author's imagination only.

It's mid-2004 and the elections are approaching, but "Stephen" is occupied with an unrelated assignment: to be the Daily Show's first Senior Space Correspondent, on a manned mission across the solar system.

A more-scientifically-advanced-than-reality AU. Featuring a big change of perspective for Stephen, a lot of confused pining from Jon, and a slew of "Drops of Jupiter" references.

( Stephen looked startled. It was hard to read, given the way his head was pointed at a thirty-degree angle from straight down, but that was Jon's best guess. )

Hi, I specialise in getting into fandoms ten years late when the show's already over. But anyway, here's a Colbert Report fic:

Title: Five People Stephen Colbert Fell For (but three of them don't count)
Pairings: "Stephen"/OMCs, "Stephen"/Charlene, "Stephen"/Lorraine, "Stephen"/Jon
Rating: PG-13
Warnings: None
Word Count: 3000
Summary: A cycle of denial, anger, bargaining, depression and... more denial.
Disclaimer: This story is a work of fiction set within the world of the Colbert Report TV show, and any names shared by real people refer to their fictional character counterparts in that world. Depictions in this story are not intended to represent anyone's genuine opinions or real-life actions.
