The work week is a toughie, it drags on and on and is seriously lacking in the amount of face time we get to have with our cute cat kids. So to keep you meowtivated to finish the working day and get home to your rambunctious rascal we made this cute collection of cat memes.

While the studies are not conclusive at this point, there is a lot of evidence that speaks to the energizing and uplifting pawer of cat memes. Not only for the cat loving hooman, but for all hoomankind. There is something about laying one's eyes upon a regal feline and reading some words that contradict the cat's appearance that tickles the hooman soul and keeps us motivated to power through life.

So with these marvelous feline memes wielding such pawer, there comes great responsibility too, which we take upon ourselves here. That being the delivery of the purrfect cat meme to make you feel mentally invigorated and prepawed to take on the challenges of the day as and when they come. And we have not taken that responsibility lightly when carefully selecting the memes to be included in this meowtivating collection of cats. With that being said, we invite you to dive in and emerge from the waters rejuvenated and restored by the all mighty pawer of feline kind.

Our feline fur babies are more unique than snowflakes. Making the task of raising them that much tougher than it needs to be. If it wasn't hard enough finding a food that our cats and our wallets agree upon, you then have to handle their particular drinking habits. But thanks to a clever group of pawrents we may have a few helpful hints as to how to get your choosy cat child to drink enough water.

Reddit's r/CATHELP subreddit is quite direct in its intentions, it hosts a space for pawrents in crisis to have their concerns heard and helped. So when one pawrent posted pleading for help with their cat child who refuses to drink enough water the community leapt into action. And seeing as this is a very common problem for feline pawrents, I myself have done many rounds of battle with a cat who refused to drink enough. We figured we would extend their helping hands to you so that anyone dealing with this problem will have some support and tools to deal with it.

If you are lucky enough not to be afflicted by this problem I will briefly illuminate you on the subject. Water is incredibly important for cats as under our care they do not quite get the same kind of liquid intake as they would in the wild. Wild prey contains far more juice than even the fanciest wet food, so us pawrents are left with the challenge of ensuring our feline fur babies are well watered to make up for their unnatural diet. But problematic cats tend to be very particular about their water consumption, meaning that if the water container is not in the purrfect spot, not off the purrfect type, or not of acceptable quality they simply will not drink. And so you see how harrowing a problem this can be for the pawrents who handle it on a daily basis. So I hope these pawrental insights are helpful to those of you fighting the good fight. They shall drink their water yet!

From Florida to California, and the start of a new life of healing with a tiny kitten next to the mother and her son.

Grief is a mysterious character. He shows up out of nowhere when we least expect it. It's not just about crossing the rainbow bridge, or a betrayal, or something specific. It takes many shapes and has to do with any type of loss, which life is always full of. In Reddit's r/cats, the unthinkable happens. A man's life is turned upside down when his father passes away. He has to relocate from Florida to California with his mother who just lost the love of her life. As we get older, these types of things may hit harder. When we marry, there's an expectation of growing old together, and when it doesn't happen it could be devastating. There's a lot of pressure put on the son now, but with the help of their furry new friend, things may get better quickly.

They wanted a dog, but the cat distribution system had something else in mind. They found a tiny rescue kitten behind their house, and decided that it's the purrfect time to get a kitten. Pets can be so overwhelmingly healing, and it's important that they have each other (and the cat) now. Read the full story below, and try not to cry!

As always, the CDS chooses you when you least expect it.

The CDS has a funny way of choosing people who have no interest in it. We, cat people, could be sitting here, waiting for the CDS to hear our calls for years on end, and it simply won't. But then someone who doesn't like cats, has never wanted cats, has never so much as shown a slight interest in cats, will be chosen. We don't know exactly why this happens all the time, but we do know that these matches always end up working.

You could be a dad who "hates cats", but once your kids adopt one, you fall in love with it more than any of the other family members. You could be a mom who has never wanted a cat, but once you've been chosen, you love that cat nearly as much (and sometimes more) than your babies. And of couse, you can be allergic.

The couple who shared their story on r/CatDistributionSystem found themselves facing an issue that isn't quite so simple to solve. The girlfriend is allergic - to both cats and dogs. And although both of them have been getting puppy fever lately, her allergies could not allow them to just go ahead and get a pet. So, they left it up to fate. They called out to the universe and said that they will not go out of their way to look for a cat or a dog, but if one finds them - if one chooses them, they will not fight it, and they will do everything that they need to do with these allergies to keep their pet in the home it chose. And just like that, the CDS heard their call, and barely a few days later, a tiny kitty was following them home.

Bonding with a feral cat is one of the most gratifying experiences ever. But what do you do with that cat when you have to move?

Anyone who has ever tried bonding with a feral cat knows that it is one heck of a task. They are distrustful and careful by nature. Humans can be unpredictable, and these cats know that. It takes a long time for a feral cat to trust a human. Might even take years. But when they do, it is so gratifying. Finally, even if we can't take them home, we're able to spoil these cats just a little bit, giving them treats and pets and the love we know they deserve.

The couple who told their story on r/Feral_Cats have been feeding and bonding with their feral cat for seven whole years. They love this cat, and this cat loves them, but she is still at least semi-feral and living outside. Of course, life goes on. Things change. People grow. They reach different stages of life. And this couple decided that it was the right time to buy a home. In that home, they prepared a whole room for their semi-feral cat, and they were hopeful. They just didn't realize how difficult it would be to convince her to get into a carrier.

It got to the point that the couple was regretting buying this home, saying that they should have simply stayed in the old one until the sweet kitty crossed the rainbow bridge. And after their family couldn't understand their struggle, they turned to the internet, and the internet… did not disappoint. When it comes to cats, the internet does not give up. And people gave this couple some interesting advice. Very creative. And just like that, the kitty is coming home with her humans.

Some people wish for a guardian angel, and others wake up in their tent to find a guardian cat.

When people wish someone would keep them safe, they usually mean a spouse, a big guard dog, or even a scary gargoyle at their front door. Some protection and caution are needed when you're outdoors, camping in nature, in the middle of nowhere. Who knows what the chances are for a burly bear to come near, or any other sort of danger nearby? Well, if you're camping where u/denimbuddie camped, worry not, dear friends! The grounds are kept by the most ferocious, floofy, feline guardian, who takes his security paycheck with snuggles, purrs, and tent break-ins.

There's no need to fear when the feline guardian is here.

When a cat keeps you safe, there's really nothing to fear. They keep your dreams safe, while being the best floofy pillows, making sure you're sound asleep. They keep your tent safe, and will alert you if anything or anyone comes near. They keep your time safe, because there's nothing better than sharing precious time with a purring creature who shows you nothing but love and curiosity. Cats are the best, and we don't think anything anyone will say could ever change our minds about that.

But on a more serious note, it's rather wholesome that the groundskeeper is raising the sweetest cat to keep campers company. Just imagine you're doing anything, anywhere, and suddenly - there's a cat. And not just a cat, but a friendly one, who's there to keep you company. You go to the pool? There's a pool cat, swimming with the people. You go shopping? There's a shop cat, who just wants to be petted. You go to choose a new car from the dealership? There's a cat in the shotgun seat, and he just likes to go on rides with testers. Any place is better with a local cat.

One message is all it takes for complete chaos to break loose.

Group chats have a funny way of getting completely out of paw. One message turns into ten, ten turns into a hundred, and before long nobody remembers what the original conversation was even about. If cats had their own group chat, it probably wouldn't look much different.

The first message would be important for about thirty seconds. Someone would announce breakfast, another cat would immediately change the subject, and before long the entire chat would be filled with blurry bird photos from the window. One orange cat would somehow send 47 messages in a row without saying anything useful, while the tuxedo cat would only respond with a single judgmental reaction before disappearing for the rest of the day.

Every cat group chat would have its regulars. One feline would insist on sharing daily loaf updates. Another would flood the chat with close-up toe bean photos nobody asked for. The neighborhood cat would randomly appear once a month, drop one mysterious "mrrp," refuse to explain, and vanish again. Someone would inevitably start hissteria over an empty food bowl, even though it had only been empty for twelve seconds.

Making plans wouldn't get any easier. Half the chat would vote for the sunny windowsill, the other half would campaign for the cardboard box, and one stubborn cat would ignore every message before showing up six hours late like nothing happened. The meeting would be postponed after someone spotted a bug on the ceiling anyway.

Maybe it's better that cats don't have phones. The notifications would never stop, nobody would stay on topic, and the group name would probably change three times before lunchtime.

When CW reader Jamie ordered a birthday cake for her husband Jim Bob, she encountered one of the funniest dilemmas I've seen yet - and that is really saying something.

The problem?

Her baker had never heard of the letter J:

Image

And apparently thinks Birt and Hday are two separate words.

(Give it a minute.)

(Theeeere it is.)

Um....

Image

Any guesses?
Anyone? Anyone?
Bueller?

Two of the most misspelled words I see on cakes are "congratulations" and "confirmation." So when someone is foolish enough to order a "Congratulations on your confirmation" cake, HILARITY WILL ENSUE:

Image

Thank goodness the baker made up for it with all those great decorations.

Wrecky minion Tabatha was having a bad day, so she decided to swing by the discount rack at the bakery for a little pick-me-up. Then she asked the baker to write "Eye of the Tiger" on it, since we all know that's the best song for a bad day training montage. (I'm picturing slo-mo clips of rampant toe-stubbing, pink slip shredding, and bad haircut reaction shots.)

Anyway, as it turned out, Tabatha got an even bigger pick-me-up than she bargained for:

Image

Greetings, from We of the Turkeys!

And finally, when it comes to baseball bats, this baker is ALL THUMB:

Image

NAILED IT.

Thanks to Jamie, Ashley R., Sandi M., Tabitha G., & Amanda F. for knowing something was wrong with that last wreck, but not quite putting her finger on it.

P.S. Friendly reminder:

We all know that cats have "selective hearing", but how can you tell if your cat is just really good at ignoring you or actually deaf?

Felines are famous for listening only when it suits them. They're the kings and queens of following directions that they invented themselves and ignoring all others. Demands like "Get off the counter!" or "You're not allowed up there!" simply pass through one ear and out the other. It's part of the joys of being a pawrent, realizing that your own power is limited. It's a humbling expurrience, truly. But then again, there are some cats that can't listen at all, and many of them are pure white cats with a recessive gene that predisposes them to blindness and deafness.

After adopting a pair of meowjestic Maine coons, our cat dad from Reddit's r/cats community is wondering if his new kitty's previous diagnosis is actually true. One of the pair, Yuki (the foofy, white cloud of a cat), was deaf, according to his previous pawrents. However, now that Yuki is in his new dad's house, he has seen him reacting to certain sounds. So, is Yuki truly deaf or just really good at ignoring whichever hoomans take care of him?

This is the question he asked the meowmbers of the cat community, and as we would expect them to, they came to his adorable aid.

There are benefits to a cat being deaf. You don't have to worry about them running for their lives whenever you vacuum, and the 4th of July will pass by like a nice, Summer breeze. However, if Yuki truly is deaf, he will have to find a way to communicate with him that is safe and understandable for both of them.

Cats are the funniest creatures, and they do it in their own cat style.

Has any cat, in the entire history of cats gracing this Earth with their meowjestic presence, ever once apologized for a cat thing they did? We're going to go ahead and say no. And honestly, knowing cats as well as we do, we're fairly confident that "sorry" simply isn't in their vocabulary. But then again - should it be? Cats aren't the villains here. Cats are the best, full stop, and they know it. Not only do they know it, but they also own it, wear it, and strut around like the title was never in question. And honestly? Fair enough. They've earned that recognition. The rest of us are just their humble hooman staff, and frankly, we're honored to serve our feline overlords.

Cats have always ruled our households like tiny, floofy monarchs. We cater to their every whim, spoil them with every treat imaginable, and happily hand over the reins of our daily lives without so much as a fight. But then the internet came along, and as hoomanity stepped into its digital era, we didn't quite clock what was happening - we'd basically just built cats a brand-new kingdom to conquer. Because cats don't just rule our living rooms - cats rule the entire internet with an iron (and adorably fluffy) paw.

Every one of these floofy felines reigns over the digital world through an endless parade of cat memes - proof, once again, that cats are just being cats, in the most supremely cat way possible. And really, we wouldn't have it any other way. We savor every meowing minute of it. That's why we're here, spreading the cat word to the world - with more and more cat memes. Meowing meow!

One ordinary drive home turned into the rescue of a lifetime.

Every now and then, Reddit's r/CatDistributionSystem subreddit delivers a rescue story that feels too unbelievable to be real. Rusty's journey began on the Fourth of July with what looked like a tiny gray cloud tumbling out from underneath the car ahead. In a matter of seconds, one couple's drive to a family party became something they'll remember for the rest of their lives.

The first thought wasn't that it was a kitten. It looked more like a squirrel that had been hit and was rolling across the road. Then the little gray bundle stood up and ran for the shoulder. The couple managed to stop in time, pulled over immediately, and rushed to see if he had survived.

Somehow, he had. Aside from a small scrape on his lip, the kitten escaped without any broken bones or serious injuries. It's hard to believe after everything he had just been through, but he walked away with little more than a close call and a chance at a completely different life.

The couple named him Rusty, a nod to the Lithuanian words rasti ("to find") and rastas ("found"). It couldn't have been more fitting. They didn't leave home expecting to meet a kitten that day, and Rusty certainly didn't plan on finding his family in the middle of a busy road. Yet their paths crossed at exactly the right moment.

One decision to pull over changed everything. Rusty went from clinging to survival on the side of the road to being welcomed into a home where he'll never have to fend for himself again. The holiday plans may have changed, but it's safe to say this Fourth of July came with a much better story than anyone at the party was expecting.

How many kittens in need do you need to see while walking in the street to make you stop in your tracks and offer your help?

We hope you know our answer is always "one kitten", because there is no way we can hear that tiny little meow and not immediately search where it is coming from and what we can do to help.

Sadly, usually when you hear one tiny cry for help, you might hear a few more, and before you know it, you are met with a whole furry feline family that desperately needs your assistance. While on a normal day, there is nothing that makes you happier than a whole bunch of kittens, when you see them after they were abandoned or dumped, your heart cannot help but break, even just a little bit.

But a broken heart does not stop you from doing what is right and helping the fiesty family get to a safe home, which is exactly what the animal rescuers below did. They got a call from a guard who watched as a mama cat and her seven kittens were abandoned in front of a restaurant after their owner couldn't sell them off. The rescuer arrived at the location immediately, where they were met with the tired-looking mom and two of her week-old babies. After a quick search around the area, they found the rest of the family and started working on getting them the help they needed, both physical and mental.

Scroll down to see the snapshots from the original story, and below you will find the original, heartwarming video. We hope these sweet kittens will inspire you to keep your eyes open for any cat in need!

Move over, upstanding citizens, cats on their hind legs are here to take over.

It seems like sometimes cats forget they are mammals, which mostly walk on four. Sure, you might know more than one insanely weird cat in your life, but for the most part - cats are just chill. Until they are not. And that's where their absolutely unhinged behaviors enter the chat. Cats can get very weird, very fast - and every cat pawrent with at least one cat knows exactly what we're talking about.

Every cat is a strange little creature in their own right, but some of their weird behaviors are shared across the board. Even the calmest of cats will get the 4 AM zoomies, you know? But zoomies are not where the collective cat weirdness ends. A lot of cats, for example, like to be held upside down. Most don't, but the ones who do probably share exactly one brain cell. Other cats, for another example, climb on the most unclimbable furniture. Just ask the nearest cat parent what the highest place they've ever found their cat in is - you'll get "above the curtain", "on top of the bathroom heater", or "literally in the ceiling", most likely.

And some cats just stand there. Not as in "standing doing nothing, staring at a blank wall" (although some cats do tend to do that), but as in "standing on their own two feet", even if they're technically paws. They just… stand there. For various cat reasons, we assume. Check the hilarious evidence for yourself. We think these will be some of the tallest cats you'll see, even if it's just a hind leg illusion.

Cat adoptions are somehow always surprising, and we're just happy watching all these happy endings with a twist only cats can create.

The internet is full of Cat Distribution System adoption stories - these cats who suddenly appear in a person's life, and the cat-to-human match seems so unbelievably purrfect it's hard not to think it was made deliberately. That's where the constant stream of CDS theories comes in, because… who are they? What are they? Is it a "they" at all? Who or what is this entity, body, or institution that constantly matches the cat in need to the right person who will give them a forever home, and does it all in an emotional twist?

To be honest, despite being the almighty I Can Has Cheezburger, we have no clue. The CDS is a mystery to us just as it is to any other cat person, even if we are the online cat content pillar of the internet. Our guess is that it doesn't matter how much of a cat person you are, the Cat Distribution System will remain a secret for you forever. But we also think that this is their secret to success. It makes every cat adoption very special. And we prefer a unique happy ending for cats over our curiosity to know what stands behind it.

So with this in mind, we are once again stunned by another ameowzing cat adoption story, this time by Kelly Eden on Facebook - she found an abandoned kitten who looks just like her childhood cat. Some might call it destiny, others call it fate, and some other people will say it was written in the stars. But we, cat people, know it's the intricate work of the Cat Distribution System, that knew (somehow) to send this cat right to the arms of the person who will for sure take them in. Was this a coincidence? Maybe. But was it meowgical? Absolutely.

No new cat will completely fill the hole left in your heart by your cat when it passes, but maybe saving a cat in need will help that hole start mending.

A lot of cat owners could probably relate, but my worst fear right now, as I'm looking at my precious 11-year-old senior cat napping in the spare desk chair beside me as I'm typing this, is having her cross the rainbow bridge. And I know, logically, that 11 is not that old for a cat, that she might have many, many more happy and healthy years in front of her, but… Anytime would be too soon. Tomorrow will be too soon. Ten years from now would be too soon. She's my soul cat. My family. And I can't imagine anything filling the hole in my heart that she'll leave behind. But stories like today's, and like many others shared on r/CatDistributionSystem, give me a little bit of hope.

I want to continue helping cats forever. And right now, it's easy. Right now, with my soul cat beside me, I have no problem making room in my heart for a foster or a hungry stray cat. But when she'll be gone… how do you do it? I guess like this. I would like to believe that if I found a cat that needs help after she's gone, I'll have the ability to take them in and help them. I hope the desire to help, the happiness of helping a kitty in need, will be greater than the pain of the memory of losing my girl. It's hard to think about now, and I refuse to put cat-related negativity out into the universe, so I'll just say this: thank you to the people who already do what I would like to one day be able to do. Thank you.

Taking your cat to the vet is often a picture-worthy experience.

Look, we all hate going to the vet's with our cats. I hate it, you hate it, our cats hate it. It's the worst. Going to the vet is generally not a fun experience for anyone. So, we try to make the best out of it. In whatever way we can. We talk to other cat owners in the waiting room, and we end up hearing some insane cat at the vet stories. We ask the secretaries about the silliest things people have paid thousands for in their clinic. And of course, we look at the other cats.

Generally, in the waiting room, the cats are just kind of stressed. We know that the real chaos happens inside the exam room, when the carrier is opened and the little fur machine is out. Some cats enjoy vet visits, but most of them… hate each and every second of it. And as difficult as it is to see as the owner of said stressed or angry, it is also sometimes worth a picture. Because in retrospect, some of the things that they do in there are definitely worth documenting.

Cats hide at the vet's office. Cats run around, losing their minds, looking for an escape route in every corner of the room. Cats look at the vet as if they are their worst enemy. And it is hilarious. It just is. It is so hilarious that when one person on Twitter shared a picture of their heckin' grumpy cat at the vet's office, thousands of others came in with their own photos and created one of the funniest cat-related viral Twitter threads that we have seen in a long, long time. We promise, this is one that is 100% worth a scroll.

Cats are silly…it's time to embrace your own.

Some days demand more from us, they're filled from morning till night with responsibilities that we'd rather not be doing. They're just a sequence of images that deplete us with their monotony. Some days might feel like that, which is why it's important to have an easy medicine to combat said days, and that medicine is silly, happy cat memes. The serious conversations, meetings, and productive organized plans can wait for a moment. Today is the day where tomfoolery breaches the threshold of your own silly capacity. Today is for tomfoolery. The kind of pawsitively packed tomfoolery is just the kind of thing cats are capable of. They're silly in ways that other animals can't be, because they take themselves so seriously. This dichotomy adds to the absurdity, which is the purrfect bereavement to boredom.

They run, jump, hiss, and meow and they don't know we're laughing all the time at them. They think they've gotten us with their midnight zoomies, or their morning shouts for tuna, but we're the ones reaping the benefit of their chaos. Their behavior has us laughing, busting up with mirth, unable to control how much we're reeling in their silly craze. They're not always known to be happy animals, but they are. They're delightfully unpredictable, and their mischief is more like an entertaining art form.

With summer in full swing it is becoming more and more common to see the kitties of our local community laying out in the sun, soaking up its warming rays. But what you might not have known is that our fluffy felines are doing so in order to bring their heartwarming and healing energy into our lives. So if all you want is a purr machine to sit atop your chest and melt your worries away, we suggest finding yourself a feline who is fully charged.

The theory that cats are solar powered is one that has circulated in the cat community for a while now. Though many pawrents and feline fans a like have taken to considering this charging behavior to mean that a cat is reupping on their clawminal tendencies and that they will strike out against their families with the vengeance of a thousand burning suns. However, we like to think rather differently about this behavior. We believe that this is our cat child's way of bringing us warmth and love, that they use the heat of the sun to comfort us and fill us with pawsitive energy.

Now yes, this is all theoretical, but if you take a moment to consider that cats are warm blooded and so do not specifically need to sunbathe. And then add to that the fact that cats tend to be rather docile and delightful once they have arisen from their sunbathing nap. And you have a recipe for a cat who will more than happily curl up next to you, still warm from the sun, putting out purrs like a jackhammer, healing your heart one breath at a time. And we hope that this cute collection of lounging cattos will do the same for you. We cannot all be lucky enough to have a sunbathing feline who wants to cuddle and purr, but we can all enjoy these kitties curled up in the sun.

Much like trying to hold on to an eel, cats are a slippery bunch and the moment you think you have mastered a weird or annoying behavior of theirs, they will find a way to make a comeback. So today I am sharing some crafty cat hacks that will hopefully help you stay at least one step ahead of your clawminal cat child.

It is not often that I will delve into the pages of Reddit's r/CatTraining subreddit as I truly believe there is little hope for a single brain celled orange cat to ever learn tricks, but this time I found myself looking for help to stop my feline lunatic from consistently making my life miserable. At this point I am his feeder and cleaner and his demands for both keep growing with each clawminal event. So you can imagine my delight when I finally found a collection of pawrents who similarly have been struggling and came together to share their very best cat hacks.

Finally an answer to the troubles that have been keeping me up at night, I thought to myself. And I was indeed correct. The ideas that these pawrents have brought forth are nothing less than genius and cover a wide range of behaviors and corrections all the way from the pawrent who leaves trash on the floor for her cats to play with, to the hooman who learned to outright ignore his cat child's clawminality as it fostered a positive reaction from the cat as they received attention. So no matter what your kitty has done to disrespect our authority in the house, and no matter how dire the situation might feel, I believe you will find some solace and cat hacks to help you amongst this list.

This little orange stowaway picked one unforgettable place to ask for help.

Reddit's r/CatDistributionSystem subreddit has seen kittens show up in all kinds of strange places, but under the hood of a car has to be one of the more nerve-racking deliveries. Thankfully, this little orange guy made enough noise to let everyone know exactly where he was before anyone turned the key.

The kitten was discovered perched on top of the transmission after his rescuer heard him meowing beneath the hood. Getting him out took a little patience and a spoonful of wet food, but once he realized help had arrived, he happily traded engine grease for a much cozier place indoors.

After a much-needed bath to wash off all the grime, the orange adventurer settled in almost immediately. He proved to be just as sweet as he was curious, making himself comfortable like he'd been part of the family all along. One of the cutest moments came when he met the family's dog, with the two sharing gentle little nose boops that made it seem like they'd already decided to be best friends.

With three resident cats and a dog already running the household, keeping him wasn't the plan. Instead, the family found a solution that feels just as heartwarming. The little orange guy will be heading to the home of a close friend, where they'll still get to watch him grow up knowing he's safe, loved, and exactly where he belongs.

It's hard to imagine a better ending for a kitten who started his day covered in engine grease. One loud little meow was all it took to turn a dangerous hiding spot into the first chapter of a very happy forever home.
