  • Niche: liked this game a lot less than I thought I would so far. I don't know how to articulate why.
  • Mudborne: took a while to understand the intended gameplay loop. Figuring out the mushrooms that let you create new frogs is basically a puzzle. This is a puzzle game that happens to involve processing things (compost ingredients, tadpoles, etc) in machinery.
  • Paralives: was in no way paying for this without a sale. Probably still an irresponsible purchase with the sale. Really liking some of its differences from the Sims 4 so far, although its de-emphasis of the building grid hurts me personally a lot. I cannot build in a game without having at least the option of making things snap perfectly to the grid. Very very obviously early access, though.

As gardening hasn't yet been implemented yet, my long-term personal goal is to buy the Mushroom Greenhouse (a whopping 25,000 paradimes - I currently have P10,756) from the General Store.

The para I've made has the following traits:

  • Vibe: Serious
  • Social Perk: Good at Being Alone
  • Talent: Cooking

I AM STILL ALIVE!!!

hello! i haven't posted a lot recently, sorry about that ~w~. i wish i could say it's because i'm Super Busy, but it's not; the more correct answer is that i'm Lowkey Depressed. however! i've figured out the secret to hating myself less. it's Doing Things and Going Outside.

i've been kind of nervous to Go Outside recently because of my physical proximity to my ex-friends. like, seriously- i had THREE run-ins with different groups of friends in ONE DAY on my first outing after the school year ended. it's a nightmare. T-T at least my current friends are willing to accommodate me about that, when we hang out we usually take drive thrus and then go a little out of town or just directly to their house. i'm very thankful to them for that.    orz

so i'm basically Going Outside around once a week; Going Outside is different from normal going outside, though. Going Outside is some kind of event where i need to leave my physical location and hang out with someone for a decent period of time. i could probably stand to increase my normal going outside, though. i might start taking walks around my house or using my scooter to get some fresh air. (but last time i used my scooter i very nearly broke my hand! such is the way of life.)

the other component is Doing Things, which tends to either be some kind of craft project or a way to spruce up my current living conditions. my room at home is incredibly messy, and it's been this way basically as long as i can remember. something something neglected as a kid etc. it's very difficult to make it Unmessy right now because i have a bunch of stuff from the dorm that i already have equivalents of at home, and my parents won't let me store the boxes holding those things in a different place temporarily until my room gets to a better condition. (variants of this problem have been happening since i was 12). so the room gets messier and messier...

i try to hack away at it as much as i can, but i find it difficult to retain the motivation to clean unless i have something to listen to. i've been struggling to actually Find something to listen to, so my progress has slowed... but i'd like to get my room livable again soon!

in the meantime, i still have much more motivation for craft projects, which i find much more satisfying to do. i try to have a short-term thing i work at over the course of a few days, and a longer-term thing on the backburner that i work on whenever i have the time/money. my current short-term is a perler sprite of the roaring knight from deltarune! i finished most of it today, and tomorrow i'll be ironing the smaller bits and assembling the whole thing. (the sprite is a bit too big for my current board size...) after i finish with the knight, i'm gonna take another stab at my tenna sprite! i tried doing that one last summer, but i was too busy with rehearsals to finish it (and the initial ironing of the first segment went poorly). i think tenna will probably be my next short-term project!

after tenna and the knight, i think i'm gonna work on styling and collecting things for my itabag! i preordered a deltarune one (I'M AWARE) from fangamer a few months ago, and it arrived 2 or 3 days ago! i'm still trying to figure out who or what will be at the center, but i'm leaning towards it being ralsei. i'll have to see, though!

my longer-term project is a cosplay of ralsei from deltarune. you may have noticed a pattern here. i bought the top half and the bottom half, but the colors were further apart than i had expected. my mom suggested a dyeover of the lighter piece with a darker color to try and get them to match better. i have no guarantees this will work, and i've never dyed anything before, but i figure it's worth a shot! i'm going to be doing that part this weekend. i'll try to update with how that goes!

another project i've been hacking away at slowly is more thorough system documentation. trying to categorize things like which headmates have fit what splitting patterns, what periods of time headmates have split and why, who's interacted with who, etc. it's something we've been meaning to do for a long time, but having a lot of free time means i actually get to do it now. so far the results have been fairly unremarkable, but i expect it to start bearing fruit soon.

that's about all for now!! :]

[personal profile] larissa

hello, it's me.

i haven't wanted to update lately because frankly my mental health has been Not Great. i have not accomplished much of anything past playing too much final fantasy xiv. which, i've gotten some of my long-term goals done there (i finished the pteranodon grind at last, for example), but it's come at the cost of playing anything else. so much for my goal of one jrpg a month... june went by without me touching anything but ffxiv, alas. as much as i'd like to continue the trails series, i've had no will whatsoever to work on playing them.

at least i've been reading again. i stalled out reading a few months ago; despite enjoying the book i was reading, i got into a slump and couldn't pick it back up. in an effort to get back to reading something, i started rereading a bunch of ff7 longfics i had saved on my kindle, and it's helped me to get back into it. hopefully i can return to published fiction soon.

in more positive news, my gsc lightning figure finally arrived yesterday, and she's gorgeous.

cut for image )

i'm over the moon. the pose is based on one of my favorite lightning artworks ever (see icon) and to have it as a physical piece in my apartment makes me so happy. she's a lot bigger than i expected, even having read the product description. she's alone on the shelf right now because i have yet to unpack the rest of my lightning figures, but hopefully i can get to that soon. (at one point i had a complete collection of lightning figures; i no longer do, but i have most of them.)

anyway, that's about it for now. it's been rough lately; i just haven't had the will to do much other than mindlessly play ffxiv. it's a comfort game for a reason, but, uh, there comes a point where it's too much. so wish me luck, i suppose.

What's your all-time favorite Tumblr post/s? - [personal profile] kissed
(still open for questions!)

evil question because there are so many good ones /silly

it's hard to really pinpoint one because i've been on tumblr 14 years now so i've seen a Lot of posts over the years, but it's also why i have a fav tag to hold onto posts i like bahaha, so basically that's 14 years of posts i liked a lot to shove there (surprisingly only 69 pages? haha nice). i'll pluck out like 5 random faves out of there
  1. someone losing their shit over crystals advertised to go in the coochie (i joke this is a zhongli post but it would be)
Is this relief? Am I relieved that they are eating the dirt instead of fucking it? One review complains about the taste. I don’t know what they expected.
  2. the fuckin original post of aoba cake
  3. car advertisement letters getting cut off in the worst (best) ways
  4. longform shitpost of every shitpost
  5. this prozd reading of tumblr tags

stepnix: Hyaku Shiki mecha (gundam)
[personal profile] stepnix

HeartQuest is an early 2000s FUDGE-derived system for shoujo manga-style campaigns. Steel Roses is the expansion that adds mecha. Supposedly it's inspired by Escaflowne, Rayearth, and Sakura Wars, but i got a lot of loose Evangelion vibes from it.

I'm just kinda amused and amazed that this exists. fascinating artifact. who convinced all these writers that mech games need AI rules. why are they Asimov again

Favorite memory associated with a season (spring, summer, fall, winter) for any day you’d like!! - [personal profile] haunted_cherries
(still open for questions!)

oughh curse of the shitty memory strikes again when it's hard to associate memories to time ... like there's a few i CAN remember tho it is a little shoddy. some of them are more vague memories combined into one, rather than a specific memory
  • Spring: i dunno if this was in spring or teetering to summer, but one time i found a baby bird in the grass. like, naked baby, no nest nearby, nothing. poor thing, i ended up picking it up and bringing home and keeping it in a box with paper towels. waking up early to feed it, breathing warm air on it ... it was about a day or two until i managed to get in contact with a wildlife rehab someone was running who was willing to take the baby bird, and managed to bring it over
  • Summer: visiting the rollercoaster park we have nearby (as nearby as an hour is), i've been there a handful of times but i remember finally conquering my fear to go on some of the biggerish rollercoasters. definitely none that go upside down fully or have scary ass drops (i'd pee myself. not literally but im a scaredy cat for those), but definitely some that i was more anxious to go on, and i still remember the thrill of going on them and being so proud of myself
  • Autumn: nothing specific ... which is funny because my birthday is in November and falls in there. i always like fall for remembering the piles of leaves i like kicking my feet through and watching them scatter around, or crunching under my shoes
  • Winter: the vaguest memories of snowpants and making snow castles at lunchtime during school. trying to make snowmen ... winter is usually dreary and with a lot of snow, so my memories are sparse. sometimes vacations to places like cuba, since we went in winter months

asuraid: Zhongli from Genshin Impact with the most disgruntled 'oh god why' expression. (oh god)
[personal profile] asuraid

well not nothing but there is definitely some ... okay, i've been locked in yesterday in updating my job searching spreadsheet + sending some applications out, did one today as well, but i think with FIFA also still going on it's been eating at my brain focus in some ways (thank god it finishes in a week or so)

like there's a bunch of stuff i DO wanna do like ...

  • updating my carrd sales on my anytype application
  • eventually finding the templates i wanna use for toyhouse
    • weird caveat that i wanna do the genshin wiki thing for sylvie but i'm like ... where would i put their cute ribbons i have in my profile page right now??? like yeah they'll be active when i remake my OC pages on my website, but they aren't active NOW for me to say that
    • i sorely need to get back to website work, but my fixations have moved in other places rn, which makes me a little sad LOL
  • updating my game notes for minecraft (forever world, forever world vanilla edition, one block)
  • continuing to organize my resources and eventually move my drawings over to my new folder organization layout
  • migrating my vgen commission info to anytype as well (lower priority because i'd need to remake the layout i was using by someone else)
  • speaking of anytype, setting up their cloud service and getting it on my phone

... i think my brain is just trying to find some semblance of organization from last week so i've been split across things. i'm also just stressed with getting arcs prepared for my friend's second book + sending job apps out again + now getting back to doing small commissions for some income so i think im. scrambled a lot. and socially sucked out so it's been hard to engage much with commenting/communities

all i've been doing is using cookie run as a mental pause LOL

Website Stuff

  • Stamp Studio A cool site to put together your own stamps!! With various border types too
  • PetraPixel's Indie Website Database I need to add this to my own website bookmarks, but a cool site that is a database of indie websites, webrings, and cliques!
  • Lapin's OC Questionnaire Looks super cool!! Definitely long bahaha, I'd love to do it at some point though

YouTube Videos

  • Empathy for the Inanimate A cool video talking about the phenomena of giving humanizing traits to inanimate objects and the causes of it. As someone who also feels for objects and feels bad if I knock down certain plushies (sorry baby Yoda, you don’t count as a marketable plush I use for a back rest), it was a really interesting listen
  • Callipeg A cool new software for 2D animation! Although I won’t be getting into hand drawn 2D animation (I think it’d be easier for me to learn an app like Spline for bone/rig based animation), it’s always nice to see more competitors entering the scene

Articles

  • It's not social media - it's you and me Vaguely reminds me of a post I made where I sometimes wonder why people don't branch out to other sites if the site (community) makes them feel miserable, or inferior ... but it's a good food for thought that sometimes it's not just the site sucking, but the community itself.

It feels kind of obvious that the people you surround yourself with (willingly/unwillingly) paint your experience on a site, but it's also nice to see it written out in an article

  • Trilulilu: watch, listen, pass on An article I never thought I'd find on Trilulilu, aka a user-generated site specifically for Romania that was like a weird merge of YouTube and Newsgrounds. My grandpa used to upload music covers on there he'd sing, and it's a shame it got shut down and is being re-branded into some kids video site

Are there any sort of self-imposed 'rules' you have for eating food? Like, always needing something sweet and something salty, or never having certain foods touch, or always having a hot dinner even on a boiling day? - [personal profile] zavodilaterrarium
(still open for questions!)

hmm... ough that's hard because i'm sure i do have them, the issue is recognizing which ones i do have. i can't say 'avoiding cartilage' in food counts bc that's a sensory issue for me ... and avoiding 90% of pork because the taste doesn't jibe with me

hmm ... it's hard because some of the rules we have is like. family habits, ex. usually having hot soup with dinner, or a salad with the 2nd meal, certain people preferring certain cutlery to others. i don't usually like mixing certain foods until a point (like having curry and rice separated until i begin eating), but that's not a hard rule i have to follow

breakfasts are always light, heavy leftovers are a no-go bc im not hungry then. well "breakfasts" my first meal is at noon bc i get up late. i usually need some background noise when eating out of habit. stop eating after 8-9pm, unless the hunger and/or cravings are godawful. i don't usually bring snacks outside of their designated areas (nuts in our nut bowls/area) or only put a portion of them in a bowl ... though that also feels like. a given???? it's why it's hard for me to tell what is a rule, what is the norm, and what is a habit
