The lab table is a chemistry table used to make items and blocks from compounds (there are currently only five).
Obtaining
[edit | edit source]Lab tables can be obtained from the Creative inventory. They cannot be obtained in Survival without commands. In Bedrock Edition, the world must also have the "Education Edition" setting enabled.
Breaking
[edit | edit source]A lab table can be mined with any tool, but pickaxes are faster.

- ↑ These durations ignore any other influential factors (e.g., Mining Fatigue) and are measured in seconds. For more information, see Breaking § Mining efficiency.
Usage
[edit | edit source]
Using the lab table opens a 1×9 grid, where elements and compounds can be inserted to perform experiments. The locations of the items in the grid do not affect the outcome. When ready to conduct an experiment, clicking the button initiates the process.

If the result is a viable product, the top images animate to indicate whether a liquid, gas, or solid has been produced. Shortly after, the menu closes, and the successful product appears on the table. If the combined materials did not create a viable product, the process results in a garbage item and one of few randomly selected animations.
Successful recipes
[edit | edit source]| Result | Materials needed |
|---|---|
Bleach |
|
| Water × 3, Sodium hypochlorite × 3 | |
Heat block |
|
| Iron, Water, Charcoal, Salt | |
Ice bomb |
|
| Sodium acetate × 4 | |
Super fertilizer |
|
| Ammonia, Phosphorus | |
Magnesium Salts |
|
| Magnesium, Salt |
Elephant Toothpaste
[edit | edit source]| Result | Materials needed |
|---|---|
| Elephant Toothpaste | |
| Soap, Potassium iodide, Hydrogen peroxide |
When combining Soap, Potassium Iodide and Hydrogen Peroxide, elephant toothpaste particles and the garbage item are created.

Unsuccessful recipes
[edit | edit source]When an invalid recipe is entered, a randomly selected animation is played and a garbage item is produced.

Issues
[edit | edit source]Issues relating to "Lab Table" are maintained on the bug tracker. Issues should be reported and viewed there.
Trivia
[edit | edit source]- Even when two compounds that do not react when combined in real life (like water and salt, or multiple items of the same compound), when they are combined in the lab table, the fire and/or explosion effect still appears, creating a garbage item.
