I really started getting into Fitz and Verity's relationship between the first and second books, when Verity kills Galen and Fitz and Verity start having Skill dreams together. I was really surprised that Fitz agreed to Verity's mentoring in the Skill, especially after Galen had used it as a tool for his abuse. And then Verity, who is stuck fighting a war with Fitz as his only Skilled ally, who sees a lot of his and Chivalry's past selves within Fitz, who has to go teach Fitz in the middle of the night how to block off dreams of "Lady Redskirts" -- he doesn't hold any of this against Fitz. Some of his leniency around Fitz definitely comes from a bit of a selfish place, of wishing he could've had the opportunity to make more of his own choices in his life, but he uses that to try and give Fitz more control over his life at a time when a lot of Fitz's other mentors have strongly discouraged or taken away Fitz's choices. I love the role their statuses in the kingdom play in their relationship -- how Fitz is so loyal to Verity that he uses "my King" to refer to him even before the decline in Shrewd's health, how Verity is one of the only people who is allowed to know about all areas of Fitz's life -- and especially how it makes breaches of status feel much more impactful. Even in the third book, when Verity is at his lowest point and makes some intentional and unintentional choices that hurt Fitz, the two still end it all with this: "I did love you, you know. Despite all I've done to you, I loved you."/"I never doubted it. Never doubt I loved you."

If you're writing in first person, I would prefer Fitz's POV since that's how the books are written. The only books I've read in this universe are the Farseer Trilogy, Liveship Traders Trilogy, and the Tawny Man Trilogy; I haven't gotten to any of the others yet.

Prompts:

An AU where Fitz is either allowed to go with Verity on his quest or decides to leave and follow Verity at a different point in time. I'd love to see the two of them working together (or not) to face any of the challenges on the way to the dragons, and maybe realizing earlier how to wake up the stone dragons.

Chade makes a plan for an assassination that involves Fitz disguised as a woman at some event where Verity will be in attendance. Your choice how much Verity knows beforehand, if Fitz or Verity have taken any Elfbark recently, and what happens after.

Instead of Verity switching bodies with Fitz and then getting Kettricken pregnant, he gets Fitz pregnant (maybe because the Skill or the Wit somehow allows for pregnancy when anatomy wouldn't support it, or maybe Fitz is trans), and then Fitz has to deal with carrying Dutiful post-Farseer Trilogy.

Hayato is my favorite character. I found his frustration with what his body could do, to the point where he made it so his body could do even less (such as by depleting his strength to the point where he passed out during the monkey riding exercise) to be a really compelling plotline. I also love his relationship with Soujirou, and how they had a very realistic level of communication where they both know and tell each other that they should be open about their problems, but then don't follow their own advice. Their scene together in ep 13 where Hayato says "I see why girls like you" while Soujirou is shown in pink lighting made me ship them so hard, but fic set before anyone's realized any feelings is also fine. I would also love to see more of Soujirou's backstory and relationship with his father, since we didn't get to learn too much about that in the show.

Prompts:

A fic taking place during Soujirou's second year when he's at his father's training center and Hayato is figuring out what to do now that he's no longer at the Horse Riding School. Maybe they keep in touch and try to help each other out.

Post-canon fic where Soujirou eventually figures out what Hayato meant by "I see why girls like you" and reciprocates.

A more recovery-oriented fic about Hayato learning to love his body/seeing the good things that it can do for him (with Soujirou's help, of course).

I love how much they trust and depend on each other, with all the potential angst that comes with it. I also especially love the magic system in this series, whether it's the companion bonds, the metaphorical ways that the characters experience and understand magic, or the crafty ways that Rune has developed for using it with limited sigil power. While I'm okay with mentions of the other characters in the Sun Court, I don't want a fic that focuses on Rune, Brand, and Addam in parental roles for this exchange.

I was hooked on these two since they started flirting in that one staffside thread during the prologue before they got amnesia, and I wish we would've gotten more of them. I think if Tei had gotten literally any other partner for the handcuffs motive besides Ikeda that the group from [Weight Limit] could've been good friends (even if their shenanigans are somewhat anxiety-inducing for Tei). If you'd like to do something polyamorous with several or all of the characters in that group, I would also enjoy that. For my "death of a requested character" DNW, please set the fic before Akiba dies, in an AU where the characters aren't in a killing game or where Ouno switches targets to Ikeda after he spots her with the microwave, or whatever else you can think of that abides by the DNW.

Prompts:

A "soulmates feel each other's pain" AU, considering that Akiba has fibromyalgia and the fact that him and Tei both take painful punishments during the killing game.

J and Levi are my absolute favorites -- and yes, I see the irony of having the character who's staunchly anti-murder and the character who killed like four people as my faves. But before Levi's secret was revealed, I could see the two of them getting along really well -- Levi's generally reasonable and not super loud or annoying, he likes feminine things but isn't one to give unsolicited "advice", and he's the big buff guy of the group while J has shown an interest in working out. I'm very happy if you'd like to stick with canon-typical gender-nonconformingness for these two, but if you'd like to lean harder into that than canon does, portray one or both of them as any sort of trans/non-binary identity, or fuck around with gender in some other way, I would love to see it!
Prompts:

J and Levi explore the building and get to know each other a little better during their alibi for the chapter 1 murder.

While she's being stalked by Arturo, J comes up with a plan to get away from him that requires Levi's help.

After chapter 2, Levi lives, but the group makes a schedule of people to watch over Levi since his injuries make him much more vulnerable in a killing game. I love Ryan/Dylan, and when they both talked about Nick being muscular during that little conversation with Kaitlyn right before Abi shows back up at the campfire, I immediately wanted a Ryan/Dylan/Nick threesome.

In regards to ages, I generally see the counselors (minus Max and Laura, who are older) being fresh out of high school, with Caleb and Kaylee being teenagers and Silas being around the same age as the two of them. Some headcanons I've seen in the fandom that I've enjoyed are Ryan and Dylan being autistic and Ryan being trans.

I also enjoy Jacob/Nick if you'd like to include that as a background ship.

Prompts:

Established Ryan/Dylan invite Nick to a threesome -- this could be a one-time thing, become a recurring arrangement without any additional feelings between Nick and the others, or turn into a romantic relationship between the three of them.

Hayato is my favorite character. I found his frustration with what his body could do, to the point where he made it so his body could do even less (such as by depleting his strength to the point where he passed out during the monkey riding exercise) to be a really compelling plotline. I also love his relationship with Soujirou, and how they had a very realistic level of communication where they both know and tell each other that they should be open about their problems, but then don't follow their own advice. Their scene together in ep 13 where Hayato says "I see why girls like you" while Soujirou is shown in pink lighting made me ship them so hard, but fic set before anyone's realized any feelings is also fine. I would also love to see more of Soujirou's backstory and relationship with his father, since we didn't get to learn too much about that in the show.

Prompts:

A fic taking place during Soujirou's second year when he's at his father's training center and Hayato is figuring out what to do now that he's no longer at the Horse Riding School. Maybe they keep in touch and try to help each other out.

I really started getting into Fitz and Verity's relationship between the first and second books, when Verity kills Galen and Fitz and Verity start having Skill dreams together. I was really surprised that Fitz agreed to Verity's mentoring in the Skill, especially after Galen had used it as a tool for his abuse. And then Verity, who is stuck fighting a war with Fitz as his only Skilled ally, who sees a lot of his and Chivalry's past selves within Fitz, who has to go teach Fitz in the middle of the night how to block off dreams of "Lady Redskirts" -- he doesn't hold any of this against Fitz. Some of his leniency around Fitz definitely comes from a bit of a selfish place, of wishing he could've had the opportunity to make more of his own choices in his life, but he uses that to try and give Fitz more control over his life at a time when a lot of Fitz's other mentors have strongly discouraged or taken away Fitz's choices. I love the role their statuses in the kingdom play in their relationship -- how Fitz is so loyal to Verity that he uses "my King" to refer to him even before the decline in Shrewd's health, how Verity is one of the only people who is allowed to know about all areas of Fitz's life -- and especially how it makes breaches of status feel much more impactful. Even in the third book, when Verity is at his lowest point and makes some intentional and unintentional choices that hurt Fitz, the two still end it all with this: "I did love you, you know. Despite all I've done to you, I loved you."/"I never doubted it. Never doubt I loved you."

If you're writing in first person, I would prefer Fitz's POV since that's how the books are written. The only books I've read in this universe are the Farseer Trilogy and Liveship Traders Trilogy; I haven't gotten to any of the others yet.

Prompts:

An AU where Fitz is either allowed to go with Verity on his quest or decides to leave and follow Verity at a different point in time. I'd love to see the two of them working together (or not) to face any of the challenges on the way to the dragons, and maybe realizing earlier how to wake up the stone dragons.

Feel free to use whichever one of J's last names that works best for your story; I just picked one for the tagset and don't have strong opinions on the matter. I'm pretty open about different interpretations of J's gender, so whether you want to write her as being a masculine woman, having some sort of masculinization kink, being transmasc, or some combination of the above, go for it! I interpreted the relationship between Coda and Davey as a hastily-established friendship that eventually became an abusive relationship (whether it was a friendship or a romantic relationship) due to Davey's constant need for reassurance and validation for his insecurities combined with Coda having a difficult time speaking up for himself. I also like the idea of Coda being autistic -- I think this works especially well with the cleaning game, the invisible maze, and the many different games involving giving some sort of speech or performance under intense circumstances.

Prompts:

I'd love to see some of Coda's other games, especially ones he makes after The Tower. In the room at the top of the slow stairs game, I found the ideas "You are the queen, dusting your jewelry while your kingdom is destroyed" and "A series of lavish manuals come with the game giving you incorrect instructions on how to play" especially interesting.
During the game about the machine, the guard outside says that the machine calls itself Coda, implying that this is a name chosen by Coda himself rather than a pseudonym Davey made up. How/why did Coda choose this name?
I want to know more about the argument Davey and Coda had over playable games. What actually got said during it? When Coda made the "playable games" he sent to Davey, was he seriously mad about it, or was he being more mischievous? How did Davey reply to Coda after he wasted time "playing" all of them?

I had a very difficult time deciding which characters I wanted for this fandom, but I ended up going with Nathan and Richard because I feel like, if forced to interact with each other by some outside character or circumstance (because they would *never* talk to each other on their own), these two would find they have a lot in common, from how much meaning they find in music to being generally misunderstood by others. With that being said, I adore all the other characters from this game as well, and would be happy to see any of them included, such as Jake standing up to a bully, Vivica hanging out at the Zone Club, or a more outgoing character such as Alex or Bobbie introducing them to each other. I'd be happy with a friendship-only fic, a fic pairing Nathan and Richard with each other, or a fic incorporating the ship(s) of your choice. As a side note, I generally interpret Richard's issues with physical touch and intimacy to be sensory issues -- I know some people interpret this as him being on the asexual spectrum, but I'm not a huge fan of that interpretation.

I really started getting into Fitz and Verity's relationship between the first and second books, when Verity kills Galen and Fitz and Verity start having Skill dreams together. I was really surprised that Fitz agreed to Verity's mentoring in the Skill, especially after Galen had used it as a tool for his abuse. And then Verity, who is stuck fighting a war with Fitz as his only Skilled ally, who sees a lot of his and Chivalry's past selves within Fitz, who has to go teach Fitz in the middle of the night how to block off dreams of "Lady Redskirts" -- he doesn't hold any of this against Fitz. Some of his leniency around Fitz definitely comes from a bit of a selfish place, of wishing he could've had the opportunity to make more of his own choices in his life, but he uses that to try and give Fitz more control over his life at a time when a lot of Fitz's other mentors have strongly discouraged or taken away Fitz's choices. I love the role their statuses in the kingdom play in their relationship -- how Fitz is so loyal to Verity that he uses "my King" to refer to him even before the decline in Shrewd's health, how Verity is one of the only people who is allowed to know about all areas of Fitz's life -- and especially how it makes breaches of status feel much more impactful. Even in the third book, when Verity is at his lowest point and makes some intentional and unintentional choices that hurt Fitz, the two still end it all with this: "I did love you, you know. Despite all I've done to you, I loved you."/"I never doubted it. Never doubt I loved you."

If you're writing in first person, I would prefer Fitz's POV since that's how the books are written. The only books I've read in this universe are the Farseer Trilogy and Liveship Traders Trilogy; I haven't gotten to any of the others yet.

Prompts:

An AU where Fitz is either allowed to go with Verity on his quest or decides to leave and follow Verity at a different point in time. I love how Jett's "super outgoing but not always the smartest" and Mark's "probably dead inside but will rise from the dead for a moment to say something that cuts through like a knife" personalities play off of each other so well -- they have a lot of potential to build each other up and also a lot of potential for conflict. I also love how these two are attached at the hip -- I could easily see them becoming more and more inseparable as the killing game progresses, potentially to the point of needing to do everything together (which could be a great opening for smut).

Fitz and Verity are forced to actually talk about the Wit at some point, and while Verity doesn't know much about it, he still makes it clear that he loves Fitz, and maybe privately resolves to try and make the situation better for Witted people once the Red Ships have been defeated.

I feel like this book has the perfect setup for polyamory, since all three sides of the love triangle have dated at some point in the story, so I would love to see a fic where these three get together. I would also enjoy a fic set at the beginning of their time at St. Catherine's, when Ezra and Declan were dating and the three of them were still friends. I would prefer it if you kept religious homophobia to a minimum -- mentions of Declan's dad kicking him out are fine (though I would prefer if he doesn't show up "on screen"), as are Declan's positive experiences with Catholicism and homophobia that comes from a non-religious angle. Ezra's teasing about Felix being a Slytherin is also fine.

I interpreted the relationship between these two as a hastily-established friendship that eventually became an abusive relationship (whether it was a friendship or a romantic relationship) due to Davey's constant need for reassurance and validation for his insecurities combined with Coda having a difficult time speaking up for himself. I also like the idea of Coda being autistic -- I think this works especially well with the cleaning game, the invisible maze, and the many different games involving giving some sort of speech or performance under intense circumstances. If you'd like to write a story just about Coda, I would also be very interested in that!

Prompts:

I'd love to see some of Coda's other games, especially ones he makes after The Tower. In the room at the top of the slow stairs game, I found the ideas "You are the queen, dusting your jewelry while your kingdom is destroyed" and "A series of lavish manuals come with the game giving you incorrect instructions on how to play" especially interesting.
During the game about the machine, the guard outside says that the machine calls itself Coda, implying that this is a name chosen by Coda himself rather than a pseudonym Davey made up. How/why did Coda choose this name?
I want to know more about the argument Davey and Coda had over playable games. What actually got said during it? When Coda made the "playable games" he sent to Davey, was he seriously mad about it, or was he being more mischievous? How did Davey reply to Coda after he wasted time "playing" all of them?

Definitely the most underrated Markus ship in my opinion. These two both come across as being really aware of what consequences might stem from their choices, and being really stressed out about it as a result, and I think that's something they can either really feed into with each other or attempt to pull the other out of. I'd also enjoy seeing them reveal their backstories to each other, or a fic that deals with the fact that they both have unique appearances, while most androids don't.

The Imposter is one of my favorite characters in this series. They want to take care of others, but they haven't had someone who will take care of them in turn, so I'd love to see that element get explored more (whether that's in a fluffy, angsty, or smutty direction). I'd also like to see a fic where they're working to explore their identity or create more stability for themself and their classmates. I think they'd work well shipping-wise with a lot of different people -- Ryota Mitarai, Peko Pekoyama, and any of the DR2 boys would all be interesting possibilities.

Tyler is an absolute nature nerd and I love him so much for it. I'd love a fic that takes place while he was at Fireweed -- trying to use the Voice with Alyson only to have it fail, figuring out his gender, and just generally adjusting to a new place. The Ronan twins very much came across as autistic to me while I was playing the game, if you'd like to incorporate anything more specific about that. Character: Seung Gil Lee

Seung Gil's theme for the season -- greed -- is something that really fascinates me. While it contrasts really well with how Michele and Sara's plotline resolves, we aren't really told what it means to him -- why did he choose it, and what is that "greed" really referring to? Is he actually being greedy, while also having incredible self-awareness about it, or he an unreliable narrator on the subject of his own life, the way other characters in this series are? He's also really a lone wolf (his breed of dog really drives the point home here!) compared to the other characters, who are all interested in socializing with someone, while he blows everyone off, and I'd love to see that explored as well.

I'm fine with a reference to past pregnancy is fine, just nothing on-screen (and if you're going this route, I prefer Hank to have been the pregnant one). Feel free to give Connor and Hank non-police careers if you want.

Kara/Luther

I think these two have a really cute relationship, but that there's also a bunch of trauma for them both to work through (like the fact that they've both had potentially extensive parts of their lives completely wiped from their memories). I'd love a fic that explores them dealing with that, but I'd also enjoy fluffier things with them -- maybe them getting married? Feel free to include Alice in the fic, if you'd like.

I really want to see more of what their relationship was like before Gabe died! What was Gabe’s reaction when he learned that Charlotte had a kid, and how did his first time meeting Ethan go? A 5+1 fic with Gabe bringing flowers to Charlotte to apologize for stuff would also be really cute (and funny – Charlotte’s home must be absolutely filled with flowers!).

I love the dynamics between these three and would love to see more of them! I’m fine with them being either a triad or a v-shaped polyamory thing where Sakakura and Yukizome aren’t dating each other. I’d love to see their feelings build during their time at school together (they don’t necessarily have to get together), a non-despair AU that focuses more on the internalized homophobia plotline (with lots of meddling from Yukizome!), or an AU where Yukizome isn’t the first to die in Future Arc’s killing game, and the others come to the realization that she’s with Despair.

Asahina Aoi/Gekkogahara Miaya

These two are super cute, and I was really disappointed when it was revealed that the real Gekkogahara was dead and we’d been dealing with a robot controlled by Monaca the whole time. I’d love to see a meet-cute at some point while they’re working for the Future Foundation, or them working together as Naegi’s allies after he’s accused of treason. Them living on Jabberwock Island and helping the former remnants recover could also be interesting – or maybe a slightly angstier version of this where Gekkogahara is living there while being the former remnants’ therapists, while Asahina tries to be part of the team delivering supplies to the island so they can spend a few precious moments together. Smut is very welcome here – I’d especially like to see accommodations for Gekkogahara being treated very naturally/as not a big deal within it.

Kuzuryu Fuyuhiko/Pekoyama Peko

Everything about these two’s relationship is a super-angsty moral conundrum, and I love it. Fuyuhiko being worried that revealing his feelings might result in Peko doing something she doesn’t actually want, Peko either still working through her feelings or trying to convince Fuyuhiko that she genuinely wants this, and loads of pining all around would all be excellent. I’m fine with a fic that doesn’t end with them revealing their feelings to each other or ending up in a relationship.

Kuzuryu Fuyuhiko/Pekoyama Peko & Kuzuryu Natsumi

Natsumi somehow manages to be an absolute brat while still being super likeable, and she’s a very entertaining character. I’d love to see how she reacts to Peko and Fuyuhiko having feelings for each other – when does she notice? Does she try to get them together, in hopes that her success will make her the SHSL Little Sister? How would Peko and Fuyuhiko react to these attempts?

Hinata Hajime/Soda Kazuichi

These two have a lot in common and would be super cute together. I’d love to see a friends-to-lovers thing with them during or after DR2, or strangers-to-friends-to-lovers in a pre-despair or non-despair AU. They can both be incredibly anxious, and I’d love to see that explored more – when are they able to help each other out with that, and when do they only feed into each other’s anxieties? Maybe they could also help each other cope with or work through their respective identity issues.

To me, the idea of this ship is that you can come from different places, that you can disagree with each other on how to proceed at every step, but at the end of the day you’ll be right there to bandage each other’s wounds and press soft kisses to them and live knowing that tomorrow will be another chance to get what you all want, and I think that’s really beautiful. On that note, I'd love a fic that dives into backstories, trauma or coping -- or, if you just want to write smut or something lighter, that's fine, too!

The number one thing I love about this game is the dynamic between the main characters -- it's so fun and chaotic! I chose these four out of the main group because they’re my favorites (and Wrench already has a lot of fic), but feel free to have Wrench hanging out with them as well.

One thing I really wish the game would’ve done is given Horatio and Sitara more backstory and character development – like, why did they join Dedsec, for starters. If you have any particular headcanons about their backstories that you want to include in your fic, I’d love to hear them. I really like how they handled Josh being autistic in the game – I’m autistic myself, and honestly his character hits incredibly close to my experiences. And Marcus hits every requirement of a protagonist while still being pretty unique.

For shipping, I don’t have any particular OTPs or NOTPs between Marcus, Horatio, Josh, Sitara, and Wrench. I’m up for het, slash, polyshipping, and gen (I also enjoy femslash but that’s less likely to be relevant here). I think Alex and Ryan are absolutely perfect for each other, in both a gen way and a shippy way. The history between their families comes across as a Romeo and Juliet type of thing, and they both carry around a lot of pain because of that. They both have a lot of healing to do, and who better to have by your side than the other person that’s so intimately connected to everything? At the same time, they can both be such dorky goofballs, and are also willing to listen and learn more about the other’s interests. I’d really like some hurt/comfort with these two, but if you’d like to write something a little lighter, I’d also enjoy some more of their dorkiness!

The two of them dealing with the immediate fallout post-canon. There’s no way Alex got shot, fell down a mineshaft, and recovered from it all overnight, and at the same time Ryan’s dad gets arrested, meaning that he’s basically lost both of his parents.

What if Ryan doesn’t believe Alex right away, and they go their separate ways… only for them to meet again years later, when Ryan has come to accept what his dad did? I think a cameo from an older Ethan would also be super cute in this one!

I loved Samira from the very start of this game, and I really want to see good things for her post-canon. I liked how unique the format was, with looking through her phone – if you’d like to write me something in an epistolary format, I’d love to see it! Of course, more traditional narratives are great as well, and could also easily incorporate the player – perhaps Samira meets someone who knows some random detail about her that she never told them, or maybe the player reached out to her since they know her e-mail, and she’s got a pen-pal now.

One thing that I’ve always wondered is how the plotline with Erik turned out. He seems like someone who could really help Samira get her footing as an adult, especially since she no longer has the support of her parents, and it also seemed like Teo was open to reconnecting with him as well. At the same time, Samira and Teo were literally told that Erik left to join a cult, and that perception of him is something that might not be the easiest to break out of! Plus, if their parents went so far as to say that Erik joined a cult, what other lies might have they been told about him?

Anything from Teo’s POV! From his texts, he seems really energetic and well-meaning, even if he has a lot to learn. I bet he’d also love to take a ride on Samira’s motorbike.

I think Daniel's relationships to Chris and Sarah would be interesting to explore post-canon, as the two of them were really the only friends his age that he had during the worst time of his life. Would his relationships with them actually last when he's not in the middle of a bunch of highly-traumatic situations? How might they work through their traumas together as teenagers or adults? Or, if you'd rather write something fluffier, Sarah joining the Spirit Squad would also be really cool!

Regarding Daito's canon death, I would be happy with a fic taking place before that point in canon or an AU where he doesn't die or only his avatar dies.

The Sims was one of my first forays into anything fandom-related, and lately my go-to sims-related thing has been the Pleasantview neighborhood from The Sims 2. While I adore all the characters, relationships, and plotlines there, Lilith and Dirk are my absolute favorites. I love their romance and think they’re perfect with each other, especially for the hurt/comfort aspects. In my mind, they both just want someone who will be there for them and take their dreams seriously.

Prompt Ideas:

Extended butterfly metaphors! Can be played straight, or can be used to emphasize traits of butterflies that you wouldn't normally think of. Or you could use different species as metaphors for different elements of your story. Reversi + Tag Scroll AO3 Site Skin

Here is CSS code for an ao3 site skin I just finished. The basics of this are that it combines the color scheme of reversi with tag scroll functionality. I have made some slight alterations to each of these site skins:

All things that are blue on the reversi skin (including the question mark buttons, which are normally blue on the default skin) are now the same red as the ao3 logo. This change was made because I thought the blue was ugly.
Tag scrolling will now only be necessary if a work has over 22 lines of tags, because I tend to go very tag-heavy on my own works. If you typically read on a phone or tablet, you may want to go to the second line of the CSS code and change the number next to "max-height" to something much smaller, for it to work better on smaller screens.

Sudden Realization - Oh No They're Hot - I typically prefer this trope when there's something "different" about the situation that makes them realize the other character is hot -- doesn't matter to me whether it's because they haven't seen each other in a while, a character did something different with their appearance, or the situation they're seeing each other in is different than usual.

Pining - mistakenly thinks other character is not attracted to their gender - What it says on the tin. I'm also fine with characters being worried specifically because they're trans, even if they're a binary trans person.

Alternate Universe – Soulmates - I'm a fan of any type of soulmates AU and any level of worldbuilding you want to put alongside it.

Age Gap - Older character knows they're soulmates but doesn't tell the younger leading to angst - This is a soulmates scenario that I think would be interesting. The older character could know sooner because you only find out when you reach a certain age, because you only learn the "signs" when you get to be a certain age, or for whatever other reason you can come up with! Feel free to explore the angst as much as you want, as long as you eventually reach a happy ending.

Secret Relationship - Discovered by others - Could be a secret because of the age gap factor, because it's a new relationship, or whatever else you come up with. Feel free to explore the angst with other people's reactions as long as a happy ending is reached (even if that happy ending is just "fuck everyone else, we don't need them, let's go off on our own").

Smut:

Hurt/Comfort - Accidental arousal while cuddling for comfort - What sort of hurt led to the cuddling (could be physical or emotional)? What do they do about the arousal -- joke it off, one character takes care of it on their own, they talk about it, they do something together? Todd's original family (I'll just be referring to his daughter as "Alice" from here on out, so please don't confuse her with android!Alice) are characters that I've wondered a lot about. What was it like, leaving him? Did they have contact with this accountant that his ex allegedly got with right away, or was this character perhaps simply a friend that was helping them out? I think having parallels between Alice and her mom that are similar to android!Alice and Kara would be really cool, if you'd like to work some in. I'd also be interested in a fic that explores how even though they're not androids, the situation of leaving Todd is still really tough because of capitalism. I didn't really like how Todd's character was handled in the game -- more specifically, I don't like how he was shown as "redeemable" at a couple points in the game, nor do I like his behavior being a side effect of the psychiatric meds that were in the drawer with the gun, so I'd prefer it if those elements could be avoided.

Soulmates - Scars appear on each other's skin - How do soulmates work with inter-species relationships? Does only one species have them? Is there some sort of guidebook to figuring out where your soulmate is even from in the universe?

Age Gap - Older character knows they're soulmates but doesn't tell the younger leading to angst - See above, but making angst out of the fact that I'm pretty sure there's some level of age gap between these two. The flashbacks are slightly confusing, and the fact that Allura was in a cryopod for 10,000 years doesn't help, and do Galra and Alteans even age at the same rate? You decide, but I do like the idea of Allura being the older one.

Oh No We Have to Get Married For .... Political Reasons Yeah That's It - I like the idea of these two feeling something for each other, maybe even having met up secretly a couple times, and then jumping on the idea of getting married for political reasons (much to everyone else's confusion or annoyance, depending on what level of AU we're going with here). Do their true feelings continue to remain in secret after the marriage, or do they eventually come clean? If another way to solve the politics comes up, do they come clean and get married anyways, or do they go back to just being each others' dirty secret?

Sexual Relationship Begins for Political Gain; Complicated Feelings Develop - ... I'm going to assume that this is in a situation that's really similar to canon, because I can't see any of these parents letting their children get into sexual situations for political gain. Or maybe Allura and Lotor are doing it behind their parents' back, the parents are all incredibly confused (yet proud) at how their kids managed to solve all this stuff, and then eventually the feelings come? If this is canon-like, I'd be interested in seeing the "complicated feelings" include Allura's perspective on the paladins, who don't seem to agree with her relationship with Lotor -- does this affect their ability to form Voltron? Does she eventually have to step down as a paladin in order for everything to work out, resulting in S1 paladin configuration?

Characters thought they had weird sexual tension but it turns out it's actually a sibling rivalry - After season 7 aired, I had a theory that these three were actually siblings somehow. It's one of those theories that never really got confirmed/denied, so it still hits pretty strongly. Knowing the personalities of these three, I feel like any weirdness between them could easily be explained as sexual tension (and certainly has, by some people in this fandom), and I'd like to see how that element gets explored with the conclusion that it's definitely not the case. Feel free to include things like "oh no how does this affect how I label my attraction", "oh no how does this affect my other relationships", and "why the fuck does Krolia keep running off on Blade missions whenever it seems like she's about to tell us something important to the point where it's losing its comedic value".

It seems like the relationship between the two of them could be a mixture of love, resentment, and regret (and I would definitely be up for the worst possible interpretations of that).

As for the high school crush, I'm very open to any gender configuration (including situations where this crush may have been unrequited for gender/sexuality reasons and situations where the crush couldn't "realistically" be pregnant/adopt -- I'm certainly not asking for realism here and will happily accept "aliens did it" or "prophecy said so" as the reason for the child). To me, the idea of this ship is that you can come from different places, that you can disagree with each other on how to proceed at every step, but at the end of the day you’ll be right there to bandage each other’s wounds and press soft kisses to them and live knowing that tomorrow will be another chance to get what you all want, and I think that’s really beautiful.

Josh/Markus

An incredibly underrated Markus ship. Deserves like 10x more fic. I’d be really interested in seeing Markus’ romance scenes from the game rewritten with this pairing.

Rupert/RK900

Yes, I’m pretty sure I invented this pairing. But it’s the classic opposites attract – we’ve got Rupert, who went so far as to get himself a last name, a fake id, and an apartment, but takes care of pigeons. And then we’ve got RK900, who everyone apparently thinks is a stone-cold bitch of a machine.

I do have a couple personal headcanons for RK900, if you’d like to include them: the first name he’d choose is Roderick, and he’s nonverbal. Otherwise, feel free to characterize him as you see fit.

Human Amanda Stern/Original Chloe

There are just so many possibilities here – these two probably would’ve known/been in contact with Kamski during the same period of time, and could’ve met through him. But from there? Literally anything could happen. When does Chloe deviate? Is it due to a positive emotion associated with Amanda, instead of the pain that later deviants felt? How do the two of them feel about mortality? How do you even navigate that conversation when you have literally no guide to being in a relationship with an immortal being? And of course you’ve got room in there for cute geekiness or science shenanigans as well. Plus, are either of these two really who we think? How much is Chloe's persona in her interview short just a performance for the cameras and the public? Was the real Amanda really as cruel as her AI would lead you to believe, or has this "living memory" of her been corrupted by Cyberlife's and/or Kamski's motivations? I will make an exception to my "no permanent death" DNW for Amanda's canonical death, if you want to deal with that in your fic (and completely destroy me in the process). If you'd like to set up an AU where she lives, faked her death for some reason, or whatever else, you're also very welcome to do that.

Cole Anderson & Connor/Hank Anderson

I love the idea of these three as a family, as Cole with his two awesome dads. Feel free to do just a plain old “Cole Lives” AU, a Human AU, or whatever else strikes your fancy to get him into the picture. I'm fine with a reference to a past pregnancy (even, like, a post-birth scene, as long as no one's pregnant "on-screen"), whether it's "Hank had a previous partner" or "mpreg between Connor and Hank" (I'd prefer that Hank was the pregnant one, if mpreg was involved). Since you'll probably be working on an AU for this anyways, feel free to give Connor and Hank non-police careers if you want.

Prompts For All Of These:

First Meeting: For characters who we didn't see a first meeting for in canon, what were their first impressions of each other? For relationships involving multiple characters, how did those relationships change between the different "first meetings" involved in building that relationship? For characters who we did see a canonical "first meeting" for, what was the non-playable character thinking? Alternatively, I'm also very weak for "it turns out we briefly met pre-canon once but we didn't realize it until after we got into a relationship with each other".

Deviation: How is the act of deviation treated in android culture post-canon? Is it a happy day, a sad day, or just something ordinary? How do the characters celebrate/recognize/mourn it? Do androids who didn't deviate through a traumatic experience think of this day differently?

Differences: What sorts of differences do the characters notice between each other once they're in a less stressful situation? For human/android relationships, how do they negotiate these differences, compared to an android/android or human/human relationship? Do androids with unique appearances, such as Markus, Josh, or Rupert, sometimes feel different from others because of this fact?

Similarities: What sorts of unexpected similarities do the characters in human/android relationships notice between each other? Do any of the characters sometimes mistake an android of their partner's model for their partner (or vice-versa)?

Family: How do you define "family" when you can't be related to others "by blood", especially in a transitional situation where androids might not have the same rights to adoption and marriage? If you're writing polycho, how do they deal with the fact that even if they did have the same marriage rights as humans, their relationship still wouldn't be able to be recognized in the same way? For something fluffier, how are human familial customs/traditions/rights-of-passage made accessible to androids?

Friends to lovers is one of my favorite relationship dynamics – especially with a relationship as long and deep as these two have. And when one day, you look at your best friend and realize that you’re in love with them – well, that’s one of the most unmatchable feelings in life, in my opinion.

Dean & Harry & Neville & Ron & Seamus

One thing I wish we could’ve seen more is the relationship between these five as a group. I mean, they lived together for six years, surely they had some hijinks, late-night talks, and fights that altered their group dynamic?

Prompts For Both:

Unworthiness/Doubt: How does being the Chosen One affect Harry’s relationships? How does not being the Chosen One, especially when you’re in a position so close to him, affect the other Gryffindor boys?

Family: A couple orphans with abusive extended family, a boy who doesn’t know his father, a boy whose dad didn’t even know his mom was a witch until they got married, and a boy who has the seemingly perfect family life, but secretly feels unloved? Sounds like a giant angst fest!

Hijinks: While no one can top Fred and George, did these boys play any pranks? Or have any pranks played on them? Post-canon, can some humor and hijinks help with healing?

Midnight: What do they do when they stay up late? How about when someone can’t sleep? How do these things compare before and after the war?

The Wizarding World: What does the public get wrong about their relationship? Do different characters feel differently about the state of the world after the war, and how does this affect their relationship? How does each character navigate being part of the wizarding world versus the muggle world?

Fandom: Ready Player One - Earnest Cline
Relationships: Aech | Helen Harris/Art3mis | Samantha Cook, Daito | Toshiro Yoshiaki/Shoto | Akihide Karatsu

I really love a lot of the concepts presented about the OASIS and its effect on the world, and I also love how the characters are incredibly enthusiastic about what they’re interested in and how the nature of the contest means that they actually get to share their interests with others and be celebrated for it. The differences between how characters act and present themselves in the OASIS versus the real world is also something I found really interesting, and I think exploring how that could affect relationship dynamics would be a really cool idea. I haven't read Ready Player Two, so it would probably be best to just disregard it completely when creating something for me.

I do have a couple quick preferences to mention for fic, based on some minor annoyances in the book. I’d prefer it for Aech to always be referred to with she/her pronouns (in both the real world and the OASIS) by people who know her actual gender (people using he/him when they don’t know or when others who don’t know are present is fine). I’m not a huge fan of the Samantha/Wade relationship, so keeping mentions of it to a minimum (or an AU where it didn’t happen) would be nice.

Also, if you're doing art, I'd prefer if you kept to how the book describes the characters' appearances (I assume you would, since the book fandom is what I requested, but I figured it wouldn't hurt to state it).

Aech/Art3mis

I always saw a lot of potential for these two ever since their first meeting in Aech’s basement, even in my first time reading the novel, and really wished that more had come out of it, especially after learning that Helen was a lesbian. I just really want to see how they get along, as I feel like they would have a lot in common if they actually, you know, talked to each other for a bit.

Daito/Shoto

This ship wasn’t one I’d thought of when reading the book for the first time, but it grew on me once I started reading fics, to the point where I was attempting to read through google translate… there were some interesting occasions in deciphering the mess it had made of some of those fics. You’ll remember that “permanent death of a character in a requested relationship” DNW – I’d be happy with either a fic taking place before Daito’s death, or an AU where he didn’t die (or only his avatar died).

Prompts For Both:

The OASIS: How much do they interact with it, now that the contest is over? Are the ‘80s finally out of fashion? How do they handle the fame of being in the High Five? Feel free to look through other fandoms in this letter or on my works and bookmarks on ao3 if you want inspiration for quests.

The Real World: How much do their actions in the OASIS really have an impact outside of it? What were their feelings towards meeting each other in the real world, and how did they overcome their fears about it?

When this game was first announced, I was so excited. A new game by DONTNOD with a trans protagonist? Take my money! Sign me up! I don’t even care what the plot is! The plot is amazing, though. And the scenery. And the depth in all the characters. And the music (at the point where you can put down all the collectibles, I actually quit to the main menu, went and looked up the location of the one I was missing, went to isolation mode to grab it, and then replayed all the puzzles in the loft over again – just so that I’d hear all the musical notes from putting the collectibles down, because it’s that necessary for the atmosphere). But anyways – the characters! I fell in love with Tyler immediately. Even though I’m not a binary trans guy, he was still a really relatable character, and I loved all the little details about his transition – especially the fact that he had an intermediate name between his deadname and Tyler! And Michael is great, too – the fact that he stands up and says “listen, educating everyone in this town about queer stuff would be a full-time job that I’m not getting paid for, so I’m not going to do that” – there’s a sense of courage there in that statement that I really relate to and admire. Overall, I just think that Tyler and Michael are great for each other. Alyson’s story was absolutely incredible as well – having to reconcile the good and the bad sides of the Delos Crossing residents was something very relatable to me, as well as her reluctance in getting help. I loved how the idea of a lack of universal truth played out in regards to her and Tyler’s relationship, and the idea of how perspective can change the way a situation looks is something I love playing with.

Just a brief overview of my choices in the game, in case you’d like them for reference: Tyler accepted all of Michael’s advances, Tyler and Alyson kept their Voice, and Alyson moved with Tyler and Michael to Juneau. Alyson did not confess her involvement in Mary-Ann’s death to Eddy, and opened up to Michael about her problems. Tyler forgave Tessa. The twins believed Tom’s version of what happened.

Prompts For Both Relationships:

Michael finds out about the Voice: How? Is there disagreement between Tyler and Alyson on if/when/how he should be told? How does this affect his and Tyler’s relationship, knowing that the two of them can’t connect on the same level that Tyler and Alyson can? I’d be open to takes on this that are angsty, humorous, fluffy, or some combination of those three.

Pride: Who took the picture of Michael and Tyler seen in the epilogue? How did Michael and Tyler figure out their sexualities when they were younger? Is Alyson actually not straight?

Living Together: How do they decide who’s sharing rooms? How does living together so early in their relationship impact Michael and Tyler? How do they navigate all the habits, quirks, and annoyances that you only find out through living with someone? How is living together different for Alyson and Tyler now than when they were kids?

Nature: Do Michael and/or Alyson come visit Tyler once he’s gotten a job as a park ranger? Does Tyler seem more annoying to Alyson? How about Alyson’s job at the observatory – do Tyler and Michael ever visit her at her job? Do Michael and Tyler find a new fishing spot that they like near Juneau?

Recovery: How’s Alyson’s therapy going? What’s Michael’s backstory with mental health? Does Tyler have the best caregivers ever after top surgery? (Yes, obviously!)

I love exploring the dynamics of polyamorous relationships, and I think this fandom especially presents some unique possibilities. How do they navigate the unequal amounts of distance? Their differing family situations? The schedules??? I’d also be fine with looking at some of the not-so-nice parts of how other people perceive their relationship, though I’d prefer it if religious perspectives were kept out of that discussion.

Isabella Yang/Jean-Jacques Leroy

I don’t think these two get nearly enough love (at least, as a main pairing in fics). Isabella is clearly very devoted and supportive, and I swear JJ looks at her with utter love in his eyes. At the same time, I’m sure their relationship hasn’t been all sunshine and rainbows – dating an international figure skater must have been quite the adjustment for Isabella. Also, how much does she know about what’s going on in JJ’s head? How does JJ's fall from the top to the bottom of the world (at least, in his mind) at the Grand Prix Final affect their relationship?

Prompts For Both:

Insecurities: How do the characters feel about how their relationship is presented to the public, and how the public reacts to it? What personal insecurities do each of the characters have, and how do they treat this insecurity within their relationship versus in the public eye?

Compromise: What sort of compromises do the characters have to make within their relationships? How about compromises they have to make due to the nature of their skating careers? Who compromises too much and loses out on things they really want or need?

Roles: Do any of the skaters ever take the roles they play a little too far off the ice -- or perhaps do their partner(s) like it, or wish they would do it more? Feel free to get into some non-sexual roleplay, or discussions of sexual roleplay with this one. How about Isabella's roles, as both JJ's fan and his partner? Alternately, how do the characters balance the different roles they have in life, as skaters, as a romantic partner, as participants in their platonic relationships, and in their hobbies (or lack thereof)?

I clicked on a video of a youtuber I watch reviewing Corpse Husband’s music one day, and suddenly I found myself transported into the world of Corpsekkuno. Still not entirely sure how I got here, but honestly it’s pretty great. I really like the rawness of it, with the discussion of anxiety and insecurities, and how that mixes with all the cute things, like flirting and Bimbus.

I absolutely love the “Sykkuno and Corpse meet irl for some reason and both are really nervous about it but then it’s fine and they actually end up getting together” plotline, but if you’d like something a little different, here’s some other ideas I’ve got:

Ace!Sykkuno: I’m sure we’re all familiar with Corpse’s music, so how does this play out? Angst on Corpse’s side is 100% fine by me. I’d also be fine with Sykkuno being sex-favorable, sex-neutral, or sex-repulsed, as I think each of those would bring in a different dynamic. While I don’t want any “on-screen” smut, I’m perfectly fine with characters discussing/negotiating it.

Aro!Corpse (who is very much not ace): Is this friends with benefits? A queerplatonic relationship that includes sex? Who knows! While I don’t want any “on-screen” smut, I’m perfectly fine with characters discussing/negotiating it.

Masked!Corpse: He doesn't take it off. Ever. Not even around Sykkuno when it's only them, but they still manage to be close to each other and to each feel loved.

Fandom: Until Dawn (Video Game)

First lp I watched of this game: these two ran into each other in the mines, I immediately started shipping them, and then they both promptly died. Would highly recommend going through this shipping experience again (/sarcasm). Anyways, I’d prefer fluff for this ship, or a strong dose of comfort to help the hurt (because dealing with all the events from the game would be really rough). Honestly, these two deserve the world. For my "no permanent deaths" DNW, feel free to just assume that this is a reality where they both survive through the game. I don't have a preference for who lives/dies out of the other characters.

Here's my prompt suggestions:

Michael finds out about the Voice -- he obviously knows about Alyson's hallucinations and panic attacks, but I don't think he really knows the full extent of it. Could be angsty, humorous, or a combination of both.

Michael and Tyler go fishing and Tyler is being a complete nature nerd and Michael loves him for it.

Anything where we get to see the competitiveness between Michael and Tyler like we saw during the plushie fight -- maybe an arcade or something?

Fandom #2: The Sims 2 (Video Game)
Characters: Dirk Dreamer, Lilith Pleasant

The Sims was one of my first forays into anything fandom-related, and lately my go-to sims-related thing has been the Pleasantview neighborhood from The Sims 2. While I adore all the characters, relationships, and plotlines there, Lilith and Dirk are my absolute favorites. I love their romance (though I’ve provided prompt options that don’t rely on them being romantically involved) and think they’re perfect with each other, especially for the hurt/comfort aspects. In my mind, they both just want someone who will be there for them and take their dreams seriously.

Obviously there’s a lot of different ways you can play the town, so I’ll just give you a quick summary of what I typically do (that would be relevant to the characters I’m requesting), but a lot of these things are just details and could easily just not be mentioned if you don’t want to. Darren Dreamer ends up with Cassandra Goth (who may or may not have been with Don Lothario first) and they have kids. Angela Pleasant and Dustin Broke formally get together. Daniel Pleasant does have the affair with Kaylynn Langerak, which he may or may not be caught in and which may or may not result in him and Mary-Sue getting divorced. Both Daniel and Mary-Sue are much more focused on their careers than anything else. Angela is typically the one to start fights with Lilith, and the girls may or may not make up before reaching adulthood. I also headcanon Lilith as bi and use mods to alter her gender preference accordingly (though I’ve never played her as being with anyone but Dirk).

Here's my prompt suggestions:

Lilith and Angela got in a fight again, so now Dirk has to patch Lilith up because she can't/won't go to her parents (or any other adults) about it.

Dirk is having a rough day where everything’s reminding him of his mom, so Lilith helps him through it.

Lilith realizes that with the way her grades are right now, she might not be able to go to college with Dirk. How do the two of them deal with this?

Lilith has had enough, and she’s running away from home. Does she try to convince Dirk to drop everything and leave town with her? Can Dirk's dad be convinced to let her stay with the Dreamers? Or is she convinced to go back home and patch things up with her family?

Lilith comes out to Dirk as bi. If you’ve got any gender/sexuality headcanons for Dirk, maybe he could come out to her as well? Feel free to surprise me if you decide to do something for him.

Fandom #3: Ready Player One -- Ernest Cline

A fic that goes more into Samantha being a writer. Bouncing ideas off of Helen, staying up way too late to write “just one last sentence”, ruining discussion of any book with comments about some stylistic element, discovering some major plothole just when she thought she was done with a draft… you know, all the typical writer things that non-writers simply don't get.

Bouncing off the “Samantha is a writer” thing: What if she was writing fic, and then Helen read and commented on it, but neither of them realized that they’d been interacting with the other through the fic? Could be an AU, could be based in canon. I feel like this is a really great setup for a comedy.

They go on a road trip together! That would probably be pretty bleak in the canon setting, so a setup where the world isn’t in such a bad state might be in order. Or maybe it’s post-canon and they’re doing humanitarian work on the way or something. Could add in a dash of “oh no, there’s only one bed!” during a stop.

If you’re looking for something a bit more plotty (with the potential for a crossover and/or some interactive fic): they play through a quest in the OASIS for fun. If you’re looking to make a quest themed after another fandom, feel free to use any fandom that’s in this letter or in my works or bookmarks on ao3. I can’t guarantee that I’ll be familiar with fandoms other than those. If you'd like to do an interactive fic for this prompt, I'd prefer choice-based rather than parser-based.

If you want to write something ship-focused: a fic where they get together and have their first kiss!

Fandom #4: Watch Dogs (Video Games)
Characters: Marcus Holloway, Horatio Carlin, Josh Sauchak, Sitara Dhawan

I haven’t been able to play this game myself, but I’ve watched multiple playthroughs of it on YouTube, and I love it so much. I love the dynamic between the main characters – it’s so fun and chaotic! I chose these four out of the main group because they’re my favorites (and Wrench already has a lot of fic), but feel free to have Wrench hanging out with them as well.

One thing I really wish the game would’ve done is given Horatio and Sitara more backstory and character development – like, why did they join Dedsec, for starters. If you have any particular headcanons about their backstories that you want to include in your fic, I’d love to hear them. I really like how they handled Josh being autistic in the game – I’m autistic myself, and honestly his character hits incredibly close to my experiences. And Marcus hits every requirement of a protagonist while still being pretty unique.

For shipping, I don’t have any particular OTPs or NOTPs between Marcus, Horatio, Josh, Sitara, and Wrench. I’m up for het, slash, polyshipping, and gen (I also enjoy femslash but that’s less likely to be relevant here). Knowing those things, feel free to surprise me with what ships you do, if you’d like to write any! If shipping is the focus of your fic, I’d prefer it if all my requested characters are in relationships.

You’re probably wondering about that “Death of a Requested Character” DNW. You can set the fic either before Horatio’s death or do canon divergence where he doesn’t die. I’m fine with either option.

Movie night at Dedsec headquarters! Could be a movie starring Jimmy Siska, could be something else. This prompt was very much inspired by when they watch the Cyberdriver trailer.

“Art lessons” (aka tagging San Francisco) with Sitara! Maybe someone breaks out respirators and it turns into a paint fight or something.

If you’d like to write something a bit more plotty: a new mission where the whole group is directly involved somehow. Do note the “Graphic Depictions of Violence” DNW if you go with this prompt; I don't count blowing stuff up as a distraction or stunning enemies as part of my DNW.

For something a bit angstier, what if they have a mission that goes wrong and they have to go into hiding for a bit (could be a couple hours, could be a couple days), maybe in an abandoned building somewhere? Feel free to pull out the "oh no, we have to huddle for warmth", "oh no, we have to be in each other's presence for an extended period of time", and other similar tropes.
