Not making any direct revenue from it.

DigitalOcean sponsors the infrastructure and BelugaCDN covers the CDN costs.

Other costs I pay out of pocket / via carbon ads, but it doesn't cost me much to keep it running, other than development time.

Creator of Lorem Picsum here, indeed not a new idea, and also not a new site, we've been around for about five years :) I just created it to fill my own need of nice-looking placeholders back in the day, not much more to it.

There is some overhead, but it's mostly fairly negligible, yeah.

Yep, each application runs in their own VM. Some of the benefits of separation are that there's less risk of things interfering with each other, and easier to just reinstall/reconfigure individual applications, amongst other things.

These are exhaust fans, the air inlets is at the bottom front of the rack, with air channels on each side leading to the front. Air is then sucked from the front of the rack to the back, and out the sides on the back with the fans.
