Challenges: Policy/Sheet (although I thought this month was virus/program, so it works for that, too)

Fandom: Stargate Atlantis

Summary: They chose murder. Of course they did. While they always had the best of intentions, their impact was usually devastation and destruction, as though it was their policy to be stupid and rash.

Happy Saturday, and for folks in the United States, happy 4th of July! It may feel like we're surrounded by a Wraith-filled government, but we're stronger than them and we will get through whatever they can throw at us!

In celebration of a new month and new prompt, we're going for "policy" and/or "sheet" for this month's prompt. Now policy is pretty straightforward, but it can be taken quite a few different ways. Like Elizabeth trying to find a policy on if a certain Lieutenant Colonel has to file any extra paperwork to be able to move in with a certain double PhD head scientist.  But there was a wonderful take in a comment a few days back about having a policy prompt. Like what if there's a whole policy manual for how things should go on Atlantis - and every time they pick up a stray (Ronon) or rescue another group from certain death, what has to be updated in the policies? Like is there some sort of ridiculous policy of, "All alien marriages need to be approved by expedition leader and then signed off by leadership at Stargate Command" - and then Weir comes back to Cheyenne command with two handfulls of documents showing dozens of marriages between just about everyone on Atlantis. Some real, some ceremonial, and some thrown in just for fun. Hey, who can say, right?

And then we've got "sheet".  You can take that just about any way you want, from a spreadsheet of marriages that Weir hands a hapless administrative assistant, to the physical cloth-based kind. Like a certain Major waking up in a certain botanist's bed with just a sheet draped over his lower half. Or a quartermaster in charge of supplies trying to figure out just exactly why Markham and Stackhouse would need sixteen sets of rubber sheets for a single king-sized bed. And how the hell would you document that, military-wise, anyway?

So for the next four weeks, if it's got to do with policy and/or sheet, get it written, painted, documented, or recorded, and get it posted!

At ease for now!

It's that time, friends! We're winding down prompts for "virus" and/or "program" and have these lovely entries as a result!

[personal profile] brumeier  gave us Virulence of the Dead
[personal profile] goddess47  gave us Work In Progress
[personal profile] melagan  gave us The RIght Wrong Number

If you're working on something, you'll need to post it by Sunday evening to be included in the roundup. But if you need a little extra time, let us know and we can work some things out. Sure, Rodney may grumble, but one raised eyebrow from Sheppard and he'll be fine.

New prompt coming soon!
