First Time with Wicked Whims

I recently decided to try out Wicked Whims for the first time because right now Little Degenerates is in need of an update and it doesn't look like one is coming anytime soon. I also discovered that the ATF mods for WW can be attuned for pets, meaning I don't have to rely on Devious Desires after all.

To my surprise, WW actually feels like a gameplay mod, rather than just an animation player like I thought, even more so than DD. There's a lot going on that I'm excited to explore. I think I'll make the switch from DD to WW permanently.

Also, the concept of Tom Peeping is hilarious and I look forward to seeing him out and about in public so I can beat him up. XD

Patch 1.107

Apparently, The Sims 4 now requires the game to be updated to version 1.107 in order to launch. When I heard of this, I wondered if I could still play if I started it up offline. I did a test and it worked. I'm not sure how long this will last, and I'm not sure how less-than-legit copies are affected, but this is how I was able to play with my game still on patch 1.106:

First, I disconnected my computer from the internet.

Then I launched the direct exe file of The Sims 4. (That is, I went to Program Files > Origin Games > The Sims 4 > Game > Bin.) I avoided opening the EA App in case it popped up a message refusing to load unless I "clicked here!" to update.

My First Pet Stuff is Free Until January

If you own the Cats and Dogs expansion, but didn't bother to buy the My First Pet Stuff pack, you're in luck. For a limited time, the DLC is officially free until the first week of January 2024. I never intended to get it at all, even on sale, but 100% off is a price I can deal with.

I Wouldn't Mind Having This Bug

Today, I once again came across complaints from users who are grossed out by the "incest bug" that has afflicted their games. And I'm sitting here like... ngl, I wish I had it happen in my game. XD Too bad that the one who wouldn't mind having it doesn't, and the ones that do mind, do. I know there's already mods that allow the romance bar to show up between relatives, but the point is I thought it'd be a cool unexpected surprise to discover while I was playing, lol.

Maybe I never had it happen in my game because I don't have a lot of packs. I think the unexpected incest started showing up in people's games around the time High School Years came out? Maybe even before then, because I know romance stuff has also been found among children and toddlers, too.

Farewell, Pixels

Ever since I updated the Devious Desires mod to version 5.1, the Sims in my game no longer show the censor pixels when they bathe or use the toilet! It was surprising to see since I don't have/never used the Mosaic Remover mod. I was always fine with the censor before, but now I'm finding I don't mind that it's gone, either. XD

preteen mod

Are you courting the preteen mod but resisting temptation because it doesn't allow preteens to be romantic? Do you already have romantic/sexual interactions unblocked for teenagers?

Great, open with sims4studio the file from the preteen mod called Preteen_Base
Go to the third XML in the list called "Buff_Trait_PreTeen"
In the preview on the side, scroll down to the first "pie_menu_modifier", then delete the two lines " <E>Social_Flirty</E><E>Social_Woohoo</E> " and leave the rest
Again from the list of XMLs scroll all the way down to "Filter_BlockedInteractions" and delete everything in the <T></T> tags (every line that has green text). Leave the rest.

Without touching anything else, this should allow you to use the preteen mod while still keeping active the romantic interactions.
Unfortunately, WW (let alone romantic interactions from the game itself) doesn't recognize the change in height done with the mod, so a lot of animations will clip.

Incoming new pack

So...seems like we'll finally have werewolves in sims4.
I don't even care if they're lame like the vampires and the wizards (I'm sorry for those who like those two packs, I'm not pack-shaming), I can't wait to see what Devious Desires and the Omegaverse mod will do with it, having something canon to work on.

Challenge Idea

I've been thinking about making a ProblematicTM gen challenge for a while, and promised myself I would start writing down ideas properly, and I'm finally doing it.

Whoever is reading this, you are more than welcome to give me your 2cents and help me make sense of things.
As of now I'm still in the brainstorming stage and haven't yet thought of how to properly implement this with basegame/mods, let alone playtesting it. I will do it once I have a vague idea of where I want to go.

So gen challenges are usually 10 gens long, right? And I wanted to do a 10 gen Problematic gameplay thing, right? And which religion has a very popular 10 step program for things you shouldn't do? I know you're thinking what I'm thinking.

As of now, my very general idea would be to go in this order:

1 Cult
(suicide of the group at the end)
2 Religion/Harem
(have a full household 7 in the harem + messiah sim, have as many kids as possible, make harem paint portraits of messiah sim everywhere on the lot, send kids to an orphanage lot on the side. choose 1 heir and follow them to the orphanage)
3 Orphanage battle royale edition
(some kind of trials will cut down the ever increasing numbers. who survives when they become teen is the heir)
4 Kidnapping
(as the sole survivor, you fill the orphanage up again by kidnapping kids. Every Saturday you release one. Have a kid with your fav orphan)
5 Arson / incest + rags to riches
(there's a party when the heir is a kid, put all the sims in the same room, try to start a fire and kill as many sims as you can. Those who survive still have to die by fire. Get creative to make it happen. If you're not the sole survivor by mid-teen age, adopt a new kid who will be the new heir. failed heir dies by fire too)
6 Serial killer
(what it says on the tin?)
7 Cheat
(cheat with your spose always in the same lot. Never let them find you. If they find you, you need to kill the spouse, marry the lover, and find someone else to cheat with)
8 Robbery
(what it says on the tin?)
9 Power abuse/murder
(become a cop, get to know the people behind bars, choose one that has a family/lover, look up where they live or hang around in public lots until you spot one of them, get close to them, kill the sim behind bars, take their place with their loved ones)
10 Fuck&Pass
(only fuck sims who are married. Break 4 marriages and steal their houses)

I'm not sure everything works smoothly though, I'm still trying to make the passage from one gen to the next reasonable.
