I have actually been back and forth on doing a year in review post because - well it is 2020 - and also I kind of am sort of concerned about the level of output cause it's a lot and while I can be prolific, this just seems pathological maybe? Idk, I got issues.

Anyway, here's wonderwall (all my posted/premiering vids in 2020):

You Might Think (Pushing Daisies)

I’ve actually had a partial draft of this vid kicking around for well over a decade and finally Festivids gave me the impetus to actually finish it and I’m so glad because it had HAUNTED ME. I love these two and their incredibly wholesome horny dive into the kink - necessity is the mother of invention y’all.

I Wanna Get Better (due South)

Ray Kowalski to this song has been an idea that had been living rent free in my head for over a year. I suggested it as an auction vid (that ended up being left and leaving) and then tried to take the song and move it to The Good Place in my brain but that would require I actually FINISH watching The Good Place and I am bad at goodbyes. Thankfully. Hex asked for due South for Festivids and I finally had an excuse!

Money Good (Hustlers)

All I knew was I was gonna vid Megan Thee Stallion and I was gonna vid JLo and it was a matter of which song and how and I honestly thought elipie knew I made this festivid and was taking pity on me because of the last time I made her a secret vid, I talked about it in the wrong text thread (the one she was in) but she didn’t, even though it was Megan Thee Stallion and I put the dog in it 3 times (dirty_diana did guess it for me and now I ship Reylo but that is a tale I should tell much further down this post). Anyway I still like this vid which is a rare thing for me.

A Lack of Color (The Lesser Blessed)

I wanted to make a treat for bironic and this movie was streaming and I was interested in her prompt but I didn’t know when I started this movie how much it would absolutely KICK ME IN MY CHEST but you guys should all go watch The Lesser Blessed right now.

Llámame (Los Espookys)

I love this show so much and I love this song so much and I thought I could combine the two and make a vid I would love so much but instead I did this. I think I’m kicking around at something interesting here and maybe one day I’ll unlock it but honestly hex deserved way better (as does Andrés). One day I’ll figure out how to make hard coded subs work in a vid. Or something.

Dots and Dashes (Xena Warrior Princess)

Callisto, the world needs to know more about Callisto. Honestly, we just don’t talk about Callisto enough as a culture and we should really correct that -- this vid was enabled from inception to completion by sweetestdrain and I would have dedicated it to her but by the time it was finished the titles were held together with hope and string and I was scared to touch it. This was my premiere vid for TGIFemslash which happened in the before times and I sat in a room with soooo many other people and watched it which seems so weird now? I think I'm settled with this as my contribution to the open dialogue we need about how canonically Callisto is Xena’s baby daddy. Youtube briefly tried to ban the vid for community violations and then tried to restrict it as adults only which is just a demonstration of the sheer power of Callisto.

Left and Leaving (due South)

This was a fanworks auction vid I held for Escapadecon and was commissioned by ride_4ever and she didn’t know I was gonna kill Fraser (and probably Ray, if we are gonna be honest because like...I’m not subtle and maybe he isn't dead at the end of the vid but...isn't he?) when she asked for it. Sorry? It was just that kind of year (this vid was completed pre-pandora's box but it KNEW)

Dancing in the Dark (Game of Thrones)

The Jaime Lannister vid no one wants to watch twice including me. IDK why I made a vid that depresses me as much as this vid depresses me but I did it (Narrator: she knew why). Anyway, this is the only vid I have ever made that has caused my sister to yell at me and in a way it was my effort to try to understand D&D’s mindset but also I quit taking Wellbutrin for a few weeks.

Drunk Lannisters (Game of Thrones)

This is one of those road trip vid idea shares that happens when Vidders Go On Vacation Together, and honestly that is the only reason the vid survived the three years from inception until completion because sweetestdrain and GhostTownExit WILLED it into being

Future Nostalgia (Terminator Movies)

This is my “I went to TGIFemslash and all I brought back was this pandemic” vid. I still love this vid and I was making it in my head on the plane ride back from LA to the point that I just poured it out immediately upon arriving home and fan_eunice as my witness -- it was supposed to be for Sparkle Motion 2020. LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL. Posting this vid was an important step in my pan pizza processing as I wanted to wait and save it and dance to it in public one day. I was such a sweet summer child back then.

I mean it’s The Donnas and it’s Arya Stark and I had fun with both.

So like this is when my stay at home sort of got really weird in that it was always weird but now I just leaned into that super hard and let it happen. IDK exactly why I had to vid Rogue/Wolverine but I did and I had stuff to say and so now it exists and it is no longer residing in my head rent free.

Apeshit (Spartacus)

There are not many people where I could decide to vid Lucretia and Go as Hard As I Wanted (which there was still room to go harder, for real because it is LUCRETIA) and feel confident giving them that vid as a gift. It’s pretty much sweetestdrain or what_alchemy. I’m so glad I got the opportunity to allow whatever was living in my head at the time the outlet of this vid despite the fact it has an extremely limited (but appreciative) audience.

Power* (Star Wars)

*of love. The impetus of this vid is both complicated and simple and mostly includes me opening up premiere and seeing this song in my music folder and nodding to myself and then there was a vid. Eunice was still with me so I can’t even claim isolation as a reason for it. Also right now I’m sort of screaming “THAT WAS THIS YEAR???” Time passes so weirdly in this pan's labyrinth.

Stay (New Girl)

I promised my sister (no the other one) this vid a long time ago and the fall of civilization seemed as good a time as any for a New Girl Comfort Rewatch. Schmidt is my emotional support character and I only want for him to have what he wants and if we are both Lisa Loeb that one time in the 90s kind of permanently then we need to say it and be proud.

Gaze Without Sound (Smallville)

This was an accident and is part of a lex luthor vidbigbang I will never complete because who can live that long but also this is the best part of that project so you are welcome. Smallville was an absolute GIFT.

Do You Want To (Star Wars)

Honestly, who isn’t hot for Leia? Also, maybe she has a type she attracts? IDK I just saw some things and wanted to make a general thirst vid but also Leia is really too fucking busy for all of these shenanigans so then I took a good time and made it sad. I do that A LOT.

Blinding Lights (Star Wars)

dirty_diana guessed I made Money Good and so I wanted to make a vid for her -- but before that happened, sweetestdrain incepted me into Reylo with Heat Lightning and then she also incepted herself and now we live with the consequences and honestly, it’s fine. I didn’t know I would love a terrible son, but it would not be the only time this happened to me in 2020 - just the first.

Heat Lightning (Star Wars)

Technically, I was barely involved in this vid except for where I was obsessed with it and eventually filled in some blank spaces just so it would be finished and I could be free (to continue watching it obsessively). This video is dangerous and will change you as a person.

Steal My Sunshine (New Girl)

I just wanted to be happy and everything is just so hard and so I vidded Len to Jess and Nick and I have no regrets.

Against All Odds (Smallville)

Turns out I am super super anxious without at least 3 things to vid at any given time and so I asked for something to vid one night and trelkez reminded me I promised to make this vid for her like 15 years ago. So I did it. I didn’t realize I was gonna lean in in so hard on Lex Luthor’s trauma history as I did but I’m also not surprised.

Green Light (Killing Eve)

svmadelyn talked me into catching up on Killing Eve in time for the season 3 finale and then she enabled this vid to come into being and so I thank her for her tireless service in giving me things to think about and do. Also, Villanelle is learning about boundaries and it’s all very touch and go.

Fire Snakes (Star Wars)

Look - I have a lot of love in my heart and things to say about Luke and Rey and tangentially everyone else. Also, in the before times I was walking and suddenly I was in front of the Millennium Falcon and that happened! AND I NEEDED TO PROCESS.

Bonibaru knows what she did and she knows how to do the things she does and honestly we should all just get out of her way and everyone would be happier. Anyway I love Tang Yi and so do a lot of other people including all of his queer friends because THAT MAKES SO MUCH SENSE AND I LOVE THIS SHOW

Way Out There (Game of Thrones)

Last Christmas I stepped on my laptop monitor screen and broke it and the replacement was not HD and so I had been vidding blind until I bought an external monitor and started to work on this vid. It was an auction commission from sdwolfpup and she set me up with such an incredible idea that I then kinda… look I COULD FINALLY SEE what I was vidding and so I leaned into the visuals and just being sad about Jaime Lannister because I don’t think I can ever stop being sad about Jaime Lannister

I searched the world over for the perfect Brienne song and then I gave up and just made this vid. I like it and it’s got a lot of Pod so I’m fine with it.

Too Much (The Untamed)

So, I think I joined a cult? It’s super fun and I love it and there is a lot of support but I also can’t stop thinking about like… the untamed. I made this vid before I even finished watching the show. It’s like… this was my most listened to song of 2019 and suddenly I MET THE CHARACTER IT WAS ABOUT AND IT WAS JUST A LOT AND THEN THEY HAD A SON

Heart Shaped Box (Killing Eve)

I over identify with Eve Polastri to an unhealthy extent and we have both been pushed too far. Sadly, NONE of my usual supports were caught up on KE and so I made and birthed this video in relative seclusion with only svmadelyn as witness but she made sure I stuck with the right priorities such as making sure the vaginal lyrics remained focused on Villanelle.

Boy from the North (Game of Thrones)

Bironic commissioned this vid and I enjoyed every moment of vidding the Starks and felt like this was an important processing moment for me in like… being okay. Not with the show, just overall.

I was compelled to make this vid and was honestly surprised by the reaction. This fandom likes what it likes and it really likes one purple hued intense person who is full of love and also yells a lot and I'm here for that.

It's been a long time Dear Festividder, but life and worries that I forgot how to vid have kept me away, from this most wonderful time of the year. Thankfully, my grad-school/post-grad school slump seems to have passed so I'm back!

Thank you so much for matching with me and offering to make me a vid! I'm so happy you want to vid ANY of the below fandoms and I'm pretty easy to please. Musically, I like... I like a lot of stuff it would be easier to tell you what I don't like which is Wilco.

I understand that some of the source I have picked would need a really strong CW and I understand that - don't hold back what you want to vid on the concern it won't be well received by me. I'm open to the use of outside source if needed to create the vid you need to make (within the rules of the challenge, of course). I'm just saying if some Batman #633 or Robin #130 and #128 need to sneak into your Batgirl vid for Stephanie Brown reasons, you have to use Superboy #85 because of the adorableness or you need to cut to No Man's Land stuff in order to get your character study on, I'm fine with that as long as everything stays pre-Flashpoint.

Bob's Burgers: I love everyone at this bar and I can't even pick a favorite - maybe NOT Jimmy Pesto. I'm sorry I can't give you more guidance but I honestly feel guilty if I say "Tina! because there is also GENE and I LOVE HIM but also LINDA and omg Louise and Jimmy Jr and Zeke and Bob and Teddy and and and..." so like any combo, any celebration, any direction you take this is the right one.

Gourmet Makes: ever since it was pointed out on Twitter (by thefourthvine) , I sort of want a vid that shows Claire's journey to supervillain? Or just anything as long as Claire is there.

Insecure: Molly and Issa and their relationship would make a wonderful vid, but again, any vid for this fandom would be great.

Living Single: I've wanted this vid my entire life. There is NO WAY any focus on any character will not make me happy. Khadijah was my original fav and I still would love anything that focuses on her and and Max, but that is totally not necessary to make my entire year.

Los Espookys: they are all so precious! Today I am all about Tati but check back tomorrow and it might change - any focus on a specific character or on the team or just on the business would be amazing. I do feel that Andrés would really be into having a vid that explored his plight and angst and beauty.

Train to Busan: You could go straight horror with this and I would love it or you could mine the themes of family and responsibility and sacrifice and ruin me for forever.

Batgirl (Comics 2001-2009): Cassandra Cain is the forever Batgirl of my heart and ANYthing that focuses on her would delight me - her fucked up relationship with Bruce, her friendship with Tim, even that one time she dated Superboy for a hot second because she was bored and he was hot and there was a cruise and we have all been there. I would adore a vid about her relationship with Steph (especially if it is shippy) or with Lady Shiva - you honestly can't go wrong at all I will be so delighted with a Batgirl vid.

So, I made another Game of Thrones vid, this time about Brienne of Tarth, as an effort to work out (exorcise?) my feelings and so like, please take this from me, lol:

Thoughts: idk you guys but Brienne is one of my all time favs and I~~'m still dealing with the show ending~~ (cutting a long run on sentence about that because not the point of this post). Brienne feels personal to me -- like anyone who grew up too tall or too big or too loud or just too much and not fitting in and making peace with not fitting in but did you make that kinda peace because it was never an option for you or just because the other path was ultimately the better one? And, like, I at least had markers and precedence to follow - Brienne is making this shit up as she goes based on an ideals of fealty and honor. That's badass.

So, I guess I went obvious with the song choice here but hear me out: this was just a soundtrack I was using to work out my feelings and I was gonna replace the song once I found a better one but then the song became DEEPLY rooted in the actual thesis and I was stuck with it. I'm ultimately not that worried because I honestly think every fandom needs a Celebrity Skin song celebrating the Celebrity Skin facts of that fandom and Captain Marvel apparently agrees and please link me to your favorite Celebrity Skin vids in the comments so that we can create the Ultimate Celebrity Skin Vid Show and somehow all feel better about ourselves along the way.

I forgot to do this for Crucify so this update is for both Crucify and Celebrity Skin - I'm gonna allow myself to claim Jaime Lannister as an anti-hero since sdwolfpup explained to me that he's basically Spike and that makes sense to me. I've got a Dick Grayson vid coming up and maybe it can swing that way -- bat family guardian tropes are always so wonderfully creepy and sorta well meaning but also, no. Stop. Don't. All of you.

Trying to get in the habit of posting vid announcements here - I forgot yesterday but I finished the vid like an hour before the new episode AND then some rando commented on my youtube post with spoilers for the episode and again it was an hour before the episode. I knew screengrabs of 8x04 had leaked and so I stayed off social media that wasn't responding to notications and then I was spoiled on youtube by a comment 5 minutes after I posted. I did not see coming but hey - a comment is a comment, right?

Thoughts: I'm glad I finished it and posted it without further canon -- this is a specific moment in time kinda vid and the only thing more source means is I will have to make more vids. That is not a problem as vids are not a finite resource like oil or love.

I have read all the books. I have been watching this show since season 1. I am firmly fannish about this show (5 other vids as of now) and I did not give ONE FUCK about Jaime Lannister. Sure there were some close calls in the book (for me) but on the show? Nah. He has a smug face and it makes me angry. I would die for Brienne though and I mostly just wanted her to make better choices on who she tries to assist in redemptive arcs. The heart wants what it wants and also twitter is a mysterious place and the night is full of terrors and gifsets.

sdw said it was like Spike all over again and dammit she is right - and I was a hold out on Spike (redemption arc Spike) but that asshole won me over eventually so I guess this was inevitable. Anyway, I suddenly developed feelings (and also my period) and 24 hours later I was posting a Jaime Lannister vid because things happen.

Dearest Friends List (Or circle or whatever this is called now):

i am a resourceful vidder - I have multiple avenues I can seek out for source and I rarely let lack of availability something that stands between me and my vids.

And then there was Canada.

I require the source for a very short lived television show that aired 2010-11 called “Shattered” and while I KNOW and have faith that many CKR fangirls that proceed me have celebrated and shared this source, I’m coming in almost a decade later making gimme hands and heart eyes but times have changed and there is a new show called Shattered and an ID docuseries and it’s all a mess and I CANNOT FIND IT.

I mean there is other stuff but basically it's about breaking up and getting back together and then impulsively adopting farmyard animals while living in an apartment in NYC. You know, THAT old story.

Finally, while GTE was attempting to distract me from discovering he made me a vid, I was also distracting him from considering that I might have made the Daria vid The Moment is Me. Which I did. Because Daria.

I just signed up for the Fanworks Auction - I love making vids and I love making vids that people really really want to exist so add in helping a first year con be able to grow its offerings and it's an embarrassment of riches for me.

I'm trying to decide on limitations - so far of all my previously vidded fandoms, I think I am only going to not offer Dr Who (because honestly you can get this from someone way more qualified) and Queer as Folk US (because reasons). This includes source in Multis so if it's in On the Prowl or The Sellout - it's open season. The list of fandoms I've worked in is here and it's pretty extensive (and for large multi vids like The Sellout and On the Prowl, we didn't list it by fandom - so there is a lot there)

Also, like if I know the show I can probably offer it. Post Posting Funk and Vid Bingo Challenge

Vid Big Bang is over and posted and now I am at a sort of loss - I have a ton of vids I wanted to be making while we were working on Live Through This, but of course as soon as we finished it last week I entered a period of staring at premiere and wasting time trying to make a silk purse out of a shitty vob’s ear. I have an Equinox Assignment but nothing really pushing me to vid like I wanted to be vidding.

And a week might not not seem like a long time to just sit but I’m not in input mode - I am in a creative spiral and not creating while in that headspace is extremely frustrating.

But I’m fixed - I have my bingo card and if I want to go for a blackout it’s gonna require sooooo many vids - like all that I can possibly make. Can I make more than 20 a year? Maybe? Technically I’ve only collaborated on one vid this year but it was also 11 songs so anything is possible.

What is everyone else working on or not working on or working on not working on?

Beta credit at the AO3 post but want to again stress the helpfulness of luminosity who listened and encouraged and scoffed at me when I asked for permission to include Women's Work (IT ISN'T SOLELY MY VID, LUM!) and cherry who gave us a line by line beta reading that we honestly haven't experienced in over a decade and I might still be sorta high off of it. She insisted we were not finished and she was right and she stayed up way late last week and let me babble at her about Mary Winchester until it suddenly made sense and I knew how to get the thing I was thinking but not really able to describe to be unsubtle in the vid. Which is great because sweetestdrain and I have been working on this since May 2018 (thank god the Vid Big Bang challenge was exactly the kick we needed to put it together and finish).

Origins: back in the aughts, me and Lum made a vid for the Premiere show at Vividcon and Lum named it "Women's Work" and it was based on how women were introduced, framed, and fated during the first 2 seasons of Supernatural. The song was Violet from Hole's 1994 album "Live Through This" which is my personal favorite from the 90s. I would like to go on and on about the meaningfulness of having a mainstream album (it was on the radio!) that was unapologetically and graphically female and angry back then. I had no idea why I was so angry but I was and Live Through This was a relief. I could scream and curse and just...breathe.

Flash forward 25 years and now I know why I was and am angry -- and the album is still intensely cathartic. I'm still not sure that sweetestdrain knew what she was unleashing back in May, or if she did it completely deliberately (it was probably a little of both). We suddenly had an idea that not only felt overdue (every year I get at least 3 comments that Women's Work needs a followup -- way more when Charlie died in season 10 - but at least 3 a year) but also was laid out so clearly that we had to make it. So we did.

Imagine I just go into a rage spiral here discussing how Wayward Sisters was NOT picked up and rather than subject you to reading that I can now just shove this 38 and half minute long vid at you and point and say "SEE!" This is really a time saver, is what I am saying.

I have a lot of thoughts about long form vidding and how we can use it to really dig into ideas (and honestly we have a 14 year old fandom here -- there are things to say), but I think I'll save them for a potential panel/separate post.

Huh. I mean for me, personally, it would be Dead Jon’s Hot Makeover in Come On Eileen because that’s when He Got Hot, but I wouldn’t say it is my single sexiest moment in a vid. God, IDK

Maybe it’s the entire “Hold the Line” section of This Is the Song That Never Ends because I just can’t with him and like guitar chords and beautiful men falling to their knees in despair while staying on beat really really does it for me.

Stand Back - it’s a bummer but I knew I was making a stretch and I went for it and so I can’t regret that it didn’t exactly land

The things I've learned this year:

If you want to vid - vid. Don’t dilly dally all over the timeline and fret when you lay a clip even if you know it’s not perfect or in the right place. YOU CAN ALWAYS CHANGE THINGS - the very act of just throwing clips is important because you get momentum. I lose/change/move almost 70% of what I lay down - but I’m vidding and there is something there and it matters in a very real brain satisfying way.

For 2019:

I doubt it’s possible that I will be more prolific this year - unless Vividcon decides to come back and end at the same time - but I am very interested in the idea of long form vids and higher level concepts than can be communicated in 3 minutes. I’ve got so projects in progress for Vid Big Bang and ideas are a constant thing.

I don’t make self portraits by myself - possibly if I navel-gaze this has something to do with not trusting myself to be honest blah blah blah - ANYWAY the idea behind this video is... um. Let me backtrack: Lum and I often joke about sharing the brane and only one of us can use it at any given time. So for this video, we each picked a source that represented the other person. We didn’t influence each other’s choices as to the source or talk about it much at all. I was to take my source and make a Luminosity Vid with it and she was to do the same with her source but to vid it as me. We passed the timeline back and forth and it was crazy. We had a conversation on the timeline and it was such a wonderful experience - we didn’t plan anything out and we didn’t discuss anything verbally, we just laid down some clips and passed it off and waited to see if the other person picked up what we put down and it was honestly creatively exciting but never ever difficult.

It was very On Brand for me and Eunice. ALSO DEAN GETS THE GIANT SLINKY AT THE END BECAUSE THAT BECAME SO VERY IMPORTANT TO US. So this was in the final VVC Premiere show and I feel like at some point a lot of people might have gotten Supernatural fatigue at VVC -there were several SPN vids in the premieres show and I loved them all. And they were all so good and very very different and I got over the guilt because it wasn't like I didn't try to sink every last person into the fandom in one way or the other. Vidders come up with vid ideas during road trips. I made 4 videos for VVC last year and every single one of them was because I took a road trip.

I always liked Sam but when I fell back into the trash heap, I was kinda like "haha poor Sam has nothing to do but to be upset at how dumb his brother is" and that was fine. It was a good life. But then something happened on the show and we spent a full week yelling about SAM! BEING! COMPELLING! We made this video for the Full Circle Challenge Show.

Also made for the Full Circle Challenge show (and the last of the SPN VVC vids, I promise) this video is an attempt and I honestly don't think it was successful but AT LEAST I TRIED, right?? One night we were screening old 80s videos (like ya do) and got hung up on Stand Back, which I have loved since a small child. I mean, it's Little Red Corvette but with Stevie Nicks, if that doesn't do it for you then we possibly have nothing in common.

ANYWAY sweetestdrain said "This is Dean Winchester," and I laughed. But then I started to feel it. And then I started the video and the concept came to me -- what if Dean's still in hell? What if Castiel never rescued him? What if Castiel doesn't even exist? What if the last decade has just been Alastair breaking Dean. What if he tempts Dean with this divine idea of a fucking angel that is in love with him? And in the illusion Dean can't even allow himself to have that -- he pushes it all away and then that fucking Angel dies and THAT is when Alastair allows him to see the truth: There is No Cas. No one could love you like that. No one is coming.

I got so much help from the usual suspects and vidding slack and I tried really hard to not be subtle but I don't think the concept came through in the end. At some point you might just be asking way too much of your audience - it's a discussion I would love to have.

I decided to end the video at graduation and not go into later seasons, not because I don't long to vid the "baby, please" interrupted wedding because OMG I DO, but the vid wasn't about that. Just means I'll have to make another video which is no hardship for me.

I'm gonna stop here at the halfway point - if you read this far, wow! I'm impressed. I have a lot more thoughts about creativity bursts and collaborations and how the ways we interact create this compounding effect and connecting with other fans is what can drive even creativity but it is late and I'm tired and I still have to remember how to do an LJ cut for this long ass post.

So welcome back to this blogging platform. If you got linked up with me by accident and are wondering how in the world you know me or whatever here is my fannish CV:
1. I am a vidder* and pretty much only that when it comes to created content. I never write fic unless it is a Nightmare on Elm Street crossover or fusion.
2. I was first a fannish lurker in The X-Files and later moved into Buffy and Angel where I actually learned how to speak with people and made life long friends. Seriously - my best friends I met in Buffy fandom.
3. I’m multifannish and it is more of a feature than a bug. I am also extremely... if I like something I really really like it. I’m still vidding Smallville. I’m actually vidding Smallville right this second.
4. I’m ridiculously easy to talk into something. Like all you have to do is hit 3 different points and I will watch your media and probably get way into it or agree to collaborate on your project
5. I’m In the midst of an insane creative cycle - I’ve been vidding since 2002 and this year I’ve made more vids than any year ever. When I think about I hear this voice in my head say “Will it ever stop?” And I have to respond, “Yo, I don’t know. Turn out the lights and I glow. To the extreme I rock the mike like a vandal light up a stage I wax a chump like a candle.” Then I have to forcibly stop myself because I want to say “Dance” next but that way lies madness and permanent ear worm. I go through this about 4 times a day on average, so it’s like - sorta weird up in here
6. I never joke about vids. I sometimes think I am joking but then when it is too late I realize that I just played myself and now I have a 30 minute DeanCas vid to Toto. For example.
7. I am painfully and earnestly sincere. I try to do irony and it ends up just being embarrassing. I thought I was supposed to be a good borderline Gen Xer and be cynical but I am actually such a good Gen Xer that I slacked on that because it’s just easier to not. I am sometimes amazed and aghast and amazed at how other people can wield ironic distance.
8. I’ve never met a sentence I couldn’t make into a run on. I say “so” and “really” and “like” way too much when I write and I’m weirdly self conscious about that and it will cause me not to post for like...a decade or so. Twitter has been really helpful in at least getting me to talk in fannish public spaces again.
9. So what have you been doing? Tell me everything!

*vidding as defined by what I do is basically clips to music. Like, there is a lot more than that simplistic take but if someone is new here and you want to talk about edits versus vids and share and learn and grow... that would be super cool.

Summary: I love attachment issues Anne!!! Gritty! Periods! Rachel and Marilla are still the BEST! If you want to vid Gritty Anne to The Hip, I GET IT! SO DO THE CREATORS OF THIS SHOW! Indulge yourself, dear vidder, and you will indulge me.

Request: The Handmaid's Tale (TV)

Summary: Make me sad and scared and do what needs to be done with the source (so I don't have to). Make the vid with all the warnings and catharsis the hell out of this source, because I really, really don't want to do that but if left alone in the house with this show for much longer, I will.

Request: 아가씨 | The Handmaiden (2016)

Summary: TWIST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Anything I say is a spoiler so just make me a vid so we don't have to talk about it! Also, I didn't even pick this source as a safety, even though it is, because it just doesn't feel safe. AS IT SHOULDN'T!

Request:True Blood

Summary: I'd love a Lafayette vid, as I am sad and I know you are too, and we need a vid for Lafayette. If that isn't possible, anything completely insane is always appreciated by me and I won't ever turn down a bit of Bill/Eric.

Summary: IT'S ONLY MY VERY FAVORITE THING OF ALL THE FAVORITE THINGS I LOVE IT SO MUCH PLEASE MAKE ME MORE VIDS

Request: Bram Stoker's Dracula (1992)

Summary: Give me Keanu being menaced/seduced and I'll die happy. If that isn't possible go for crazy broke with the source. I tried to pick a safety that is bonkers enough to work both with and against the entire Roxette discography, because I care about you, dear vidder. You are welcome.

Request: Anne of Green Gables (TV 1985)

Summary: Listen I love the new Gritty Anne, but this Gilbert Blythe is basically supposed to be my husband so justify my love. Maybe not to "Justify My Love" or maybe to? I will not tell you how to live, dear vidder. If you are unable to create a Gilbert Blythe vid (and I haven't been able to either, so I get it) then again Marilla and Rachel are the BEST and Anne is pretty great as well and you know how I feel because you probably feel it as well if we matched.

Well, that pretty much sums up my requests, dear vidder. I am so pleased you are here and thank you so much for matching with me. If this is the first time you have been exposed to me, I apologize for my abuse of the capslock and the exclamation point but I feel the point needs to be made: I am exactly like this. Oops?

For anyone else that might be reading, HEY! I MISSED YOU! HOW ARE YOU? How's the family? What's new with you? It's been a minute, hasn't it? I'm gonna miss seeing you this year at Vividcon, but oh, life. It's bigger, ya know? Have fun and I promise I'm there next year.
