Today's day-off-work restlessness resulted in 6 loads of laundry washed, folded and put away - in addition to moving furniture, hanging pictures, washing dishes, moving some stuff to storage, watching a movie (Regarding Henry) and some BritTV (Casualty 1909), and getting all the trash together. Nevermind that I also threw in a visit to Neighbor-Girl for morning Coffee and whatnot. Plus other things. Geeky things.

Daybreakers - OH MY GOD! SWEET MOTHER OF MERCY IT IS A VAMPIRE MOVIE WITH BOTH WILLAM DAFOE and SAM NIELL!

Watching this actually did funny things to my blood pressure, despite the repeated presence of Ethan Hawke. I might even have uttered some audible noises along the lines of "Guh" and "Unfh" and "squeeee."

Do you see what I'm saying here?! DO YOU!? Very well then, moving on...

Zombieland - because 1) ZOMBIES! and 2) ZOMBIES THAT ARE LOLACIOUS! and 3) Woody Harilson gets to be in a comedy again...with ZOMBIES!

The Surrogates - BRUCE WILLIS! Need I say more?

And finally....

The Last Airbender - because despite all the hoo-ha in fandom about Racefail and M.Night and yada, yada, yada...this Teaser just gave me an AirTemple and the MOTHERFUCKING FIRE NATION NAVAL ARMADA!

Watched Terminator: Salvation (possibly for free) and...well...let's just say that this man is the ridiculous, mind-melting sexy-sex, this kid was fucking hardcore, and both she and she were alluring as hell.

I don't even want to go into how disappointing and/or facepalm-inducing every other part of the movie was because it breaks my soul. A lot.

The future of the franchise now makes me want to, as mercy so eloquently says, stab myself in the fucking face.

Final portion of dream this a.m. was getting a message on my phone from deke showing me tiny-tiny video footage revealing that she'd written the winning entry in a Wolverine story contest.

The video footage was of the announcement of her win being electronically scrolled on the sides of lorries. She had sent four videos in one file so the text was TINY, but after many attempts I could make it out:

"Congratulations to deke for winning the (I don't remember who sponsored the contest, but let's pretend it was "Gemini Croquettes") Wolverine story contest with her entry entitled "Whatever."

Yeah...the title of the story was "Whatever." And apparently it was perfect. :)

So congratulations, deke! In my brain your fanwriting prowess is proudly broadcast on the sides of red double-deckers!

Today's thing that is Awesome? Astronauts watching the new "Star Trek" movie in space. The thought of which gives me that warm, hopeful, fuzzy feeling in my chest that happens so infrequently when I try to imagine humanity's potential for good and lasting and cooperative behavior when it comes to pioneer spirit.

I read a movie review of the new Trek sometime earlier this week that criticized it (somewhat correctly in parts) for being more of a jaunt into space with to blow things up rather than evocative of the wonders of space exploration. This link totally fixes my tiny twinge of sadness at that aspect of that particular review. Boo-Yah.

But then again I also tear up at the end of Macross Plus when the words "Dedicated to You, Our Future Pioneers" come up.

*facepalms* Oh dear God. I think I just had a blip of a Isamu = Kirk so maybe Guld = Spock crossover and it's not right and my brain won't take any more of it. The end.

*exhales*

I think it's time for me to step away from the internets.

I've been missing some television. Odd television. Like...British television.

In short, I've been massively jonesing for an episode of Survivors like nobody's business. For those of you who don't know, this is utterly ridiculous. There are only 6 bloody episodes of Survivors currently in existence. But I want More Tom, dammit!

Sheesh. Pathetic. At least the other show I'm missing (Leverage) had 13 episodes!

I have also found myself dreading the season's endings of House, and How I Met Your Mother - and to a lesser extent Bones. I've already reconciled my brain to the forthcoming dry spell of Supernatural and Heroes. *sigh*

I watch way too much freaking television.

But then again a lot of my favorite shows have ended lately. *double sigh*

After the disappointment of the Wolverine movie - of which Sabretooth was the only good part...in case anyone forgot - my sad and worn fangirlish heart has been soothed and seduced by the SHEER JOY-INDUCING GLEE that was Star Trek.

Spent 5 hours at work today despite having the day off for Cinco de Mayo. Because that's the way I roll.

That's the way the whole department rolls, actually. We were the only ones there other than one sad person from Payroll and a Pharmacist boogieing with his drugs somewhere down the hall.

Had intended to go do some much-needed housing hunting after work but started to feel like shit so went home instead. May make some comfort food of some carb-laden sort and let the cat sit on my lap all afternoon instead.

Sounds like a plan.
