How to make an Egg in Minecraft
This Minecraft tutorial explains how to craft an Egg with screenshots and step-by-step instructions.
In Minecraft, an Egg is the traditional white-colored egg. You can not make an Egg with a crafting table or furnace. Instead, you need to find and gather this item in the game.

Let's explore how to add an Egg to your inventory.

How to get an Egg in Survival Mode
You can add an Egg to your inventory in Survival mode by finding a temperate chicken and waiting for it to lay an Egg. So let's get started!
1. Find a Temperate Chicken
You first need to find a temperate chicken. Temperate chickens are white-colored and can be found in the Birch Forest, Dark Forest, Flower Forest, Forest, Plains, Sunflower Plains, or Old Growth Birch Forest biomes.

2. Wait for the Temperate Chicken to Lay an Egg
A temperate chicken will typically lay an Egg every 5-10 minutes in the game. If you pause the game, the temperate chicken will also pause and an Egg will not appear. You need to keep the game active for the 5-10 minutes before the temperate chicken will lay the Egg.

As the temperate chicken lays the Egg, it will make a particular "egg-laying" noise and an white-colored Egg should appear next to the temperate chicken.

3. Pick up the Egg
Make sure you pick up the Egg right away, because it will disappear after a while.

Once you pick up the Egg, it will appear in your hotbar.

An Egg is a very useful item and should be kept in your inventory to be used later.
