Linux Foundation Europe Working Groups
One key value of LF Europe is to inform, get informed by, and enable the right discussions between its participating organizations. To that effect, several committees and working groups have been formed, and they meet online regularly.
LF Europe Advisory Board
The Advisory Board provides guidance to the LF Europe General Manager on The Linux Foundation strategy in Europe. It acts as a sounding board for proper messaging and ideas before they turn into action.
Policy Committee
With ubiquitous adoption, open source is now in the eye of the regulators and at the center of the EU technology strategy. The LF Europe Policy Committee brings together policy teams or representatives from participant organizations to discuss the latest in EU regulation and policy. They meet monthly to develop positions and responses that LF Europe will communicate and participants may amplify and support.
"OpenInfra in Europe" Working Group
Digital sovereignty in Europe is driving demand for local infrastructure capabilities, with a focus on reducing single-vendor tech dependencies. This is a massive opportunity for OpenInfra software: using purely openly-developed, open source software to provide that infrastructure (combining the Linux kernel, OpenStack and Kubernetes). This working group brings participant companies together to address ecosystem challenges (such as funding, fragmentation, interoperability, and local talent development) and to track relevant EU legislation like the Cloud and AI Development Act.
