Why Users Refer Cloudways
“To be honest, I’m not really incentivized by the money. The reason that I refer people to you guys is so that I can work on this platform when they get their hosting set up.”
Thomas Speak
Creative Director at Speak Design
“It’s been perfect. I mean, ever since I switched to Cloudways I’ve never really looked to anyone else. It’s hard to think of improvements in the referral program because it’s so wonderful already”
Trevor Lowe
Lead developer at Trevology
“Well, I wouldn’t refer something to anyone if I don’t like it. So it’s not just the money, but the money is nice and it definitely helps, so I guess it’s a combination of both”
Adam Zonnis
Web Designer at Pangaea Web Services
“I think it’s easy enough (sharing method) and doesn’t trouble me a lot. It’s great that we don’t have to sign up again to become a referrer.”
Richard Trotman
President & Founder at Exit88
“The referral program has been built correctly from the very start with the right conditions and rewards”

Full Stack Engineer at SanChip
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I receive cash via the Cloudways referral program?
No. The rewards for referrals are in the form of hosting credits only and are not withdrawable as cash. When a referral is made, $50 in credit will be put into your Cloudways account. That can then be applied toward your invoices or add-ons. For those who would prefer a monetary commission, there is an Affiliate Program available from Cloudways.
How many hosting credits do I get per referral?
You get $50 in hosting credits for each successful referral and the friend you refer gets $25. The more people you refer, the more credits you make. A referral qualifies when the person you referred upgrades to a paid Cloudways account, pays at least two invoices, and spends a minimum of $30. Once these conditions are met, the $50 hosting credit is automatically added to your Cloudways account. You can refer unlimited people to Cloudways, with no cap on your total hosting credits.
Where can I find my referral link?
Log in to the Cloudways Platform and click Refer & Get $50 in the top menu. You'll find your unique referral link, which you can copy and share through email, messages, or available social sharing options. If you cannot access the referral link, contact Cloudways Support.
Who can use the referral program?
Any Cloudways customer with a paid account can participate in the Referral Program. If you're currently on the free trial, you must upgrade your Cloudways account to a full, paid account by adding a valid payment method. Once upgraded, you can access your unique referral link by clicking Refer & Get $50 in the Cloudways Platform. No separate registration is required, and you can start referring friends, clients, and colleagues to earn hosting credits.
Where can I use the referral reward hosting credits?
Earned referral credits can be applied to your Cloudways hosting invoices and add-ons. Any credits available will be applied to the invoice automatically to lower your hosting costs. Should the credits not be enough to settle the full bill, the balance is deducted from your prepaid account.
What is the difference between the Cloudways referral program and the Cloudways affiliate program?
The Cloudways Referral Program allows existing customers with paid Cloudways accounts to earn $50 in hosting credit for every successful referral. These credits are added to their Cloudways accounts and can be used to pay hosting invoices and add-ons.
The Cloudways Affiliate Program is designed for individuals and businesses who want to earn monetary commissions by promoting Cloudways. Unlike the Referral Program, affiliates must register separately and can choose from different commission models, with earnings paid through supported payout methods.
I haven’t received my referral reward. What should I do?
Your $50 reward is issued only after the referred customer upgrades from a free trial to a paid Cloudways account, pays at least two invoices, and spends a minimum of $30 on Cloudways services. Check the Referral Dashboard to see whether the referral is still pending. If the referred customer cancels their account, the referral doesn’t count, and no credit is issued. If all conditions have been met and your credit hasn't appeared, contact our referral team at [email protected].
Is there a limit to how many people I can refer to Cloudways?
No. Under the Cloudways Referral Program, you can make unlimited referrals and earn $50 in hosting credit for every successful referral. Your unique referral link can be shared with friends, clients, colleagues, and your professional community. Cloudways may reject referrals generated through spam, fraudulent activity, public forums, or coupon websites.
How can I track my referral rewards?
After logging into the Cloudways platform, select Refer & Get $50 from the top menu. A pop-up will appear. From there, click on Referral Dashboard to see your referral activity. It will show you trial customers, those who have upgraded, and any rewards that are expected, pending, or earned. For a record of the credits added to your Cloudways account and how they have been applied, navigate to your profile > Billing > Credits & Discounts.
