Knoppix for Kids – a bootable, live Linux operating system that can be used for kids by booting directly from a USB stick or DVD without changing the computer’s existing hard drive.
It offers educational tools and games, making it a safe, portable, and free option for children to explore computers, with variants like Tux4Kids and ADRIANE enhancing usability.
The project was running by OSEF.
The founding members of The Open Source Education Foundation (OSEF) met while working at an elementary school in Tucson, Arizona. A local business donated 32 computers to the school, however the school district was unable to install them due to support issues.
