So today I had an interview at Store A. I went to bed the night before late and spent a lot of time before leaving the house chilling because I had no hope and no enthusiasm. Last minute I remembered I'm supposed to bring my resume with me, but the printer in the house wouldn't connect to my laptop so I intended to use the local library's printer, but when I finally left the house I realized I had no time to go to the library. I resigned myself to showing up to Store A empty-handed. Maybe saying I don't have access to a printer would be excuse enough?

But that didn't up mattering, because I arrived a whole 10 minutes late anyways. After thinking hard on how to apologize in a chill but hireable way I walked in, got confused as hell because I had no idea where to go, and then worked up the courage to ask a random employee where the interview was. Eventually a manager came and took me to the office, and she didn't bring up at all my being late nor did I see any other interviewees (wasn't I supposed to be in a group??), but whatever, maybe she's willing to give me a chance and interview me alone so I don't interrupt the ongoing interview.

But she asked me who was supposed to interview me because it sure wasn't her, so I look it up on my phone... My interview was actually at Store B. The store next door that caters fills the exact same niche. I am stupid. But it's okay! I said, because I totally applied to this store too.

No, I did not. I applied to the Store A in my town, not the one in the next town over (where I was).

BUT EVEN SO! Without an appointment or even an application, she proceeded with the interview. AND!!!!!!! I got hired on the spot!(??????????). I just had to do the application when I got home (which I've done). I was like, no friggin' way, but she seemed quite happy to have stolen a possible employee from the next store over.

Conclusion: Just start walking into stores and lying about having an interview. You're welcome!

Two weeks ago my laptop died horribly and in agony, which threw off my entire routine and life. I do not like being locked to the small screen, especially for important decisions. But today ol' Lappy decided resurrection would be a good idea, so I have a PC again! A very temperamental one, so I need to focus on copying files to move them to a new laptop at some point. It's only been 2 weeks, but it feels like a month... and before my laptop fake-died I was really focused on making a website for a specific purpose I can't say publicly, so that's why I've barely been on Dreamwidth specifically. And then for some reason I have a bunch of Gakupo songs saved? I would delete them all, but clearly the me of August 20, 2025 really really wanted to show you all this, so I'll honor his wishes even if I don't understand them.

We can’t have an honest conversation about the great games we’re “supposed” to know and love if we don’t have an accurate idea of the average to compare them to. We can’t give the classics an authentic appraisal if we can’t actually see how they do things differently from the more ordinary examples they sat next to on shop shelves, or we end up assuming that creating an engaging 16-bit RPG must be easy because everything we collectively choose to revisit and elevate from that era managed it.

This is all a religious crusade from the very beginning, and I think many people played into it without realizing it.

It is hard to choose between my previous babies. So hard. The You're Under Arrest! girl is really cutesies and silly, but this icon really does get me every time I see it. I think I had been saving it for use somewhere even before I was active on here. I have so many silly Naruto icons even when it's not one of my favorite things because dammit, none of my other fandoms have XD so random type icons and no one makes them anymore

Having a fun time with this website on classical Chinese for people who are studying it or are just really nosy. I'm glad to say I'm the latter and I'm having a blast ^o^ I really love using the little Chinese I know, plus sometimes the Japanese, plus obviously my English knowledge to read the translation and reverse-engineer how classical Chinese grammar probably works. Hope you enjoy the site too!!
