Thirsting for space-out time
Jul. 4th, 2026 08:36 pmI want to remain as positive, but truthfully, this week has been overwhelming for me-- I can't get into the specific details
Overall, I need my social battery recharged, I need to find time to surround myself with friends and I need my personal creative time. I think I've been feeling cranky because I haven't been able to find time for creative hobbies within these past month. I've been deprived of my personal space-out time. Well... at the very least, by the end of this blog, I know I will have a bit of a creative outlet from venting my feelings out. Yay. I believe I need to do my art stream right after this post update.
Recently, I stumbled upon a video clip involving a "dead mall" that came up on my FYP. The man talking in the clip was reminiscing about the good old days when that mall was thriving in the 90s. Like always, I made a mistake of reading some of the comments, "i WIsH thEY dOn'T pUT A FiSH sToRe iN the MaLL" (they're talking about an Asian grocery store). Like geez, I understand the nostalgia of malls from our childhood era BUT you do not have to demonize a grocery store that communities strongly rely on
Sometimes I find that the people from my generation can be insufferable at times, it's almost as if they're stuck in the past and not willing to do any homework to make our present world better. They just fall into the rac*st GoOD oLD dAYs crap. It almost as if they don't want to grow up in that sense. I'm totally okay with a mom n pop tea shop replacing Sbarro and I hope to see more vacant spaces getting used in a beneficial way.
I haven't been to the movie theaters for years since the pandemic started-- Bern and I went to watch Boots Riley's I Love Boosters at a theater. I haven't laughed at a movie so loudly before because it's so surreal & comical! I believe this has to be Riley's strongest film he ever made. I think it's quite an upgrade from Sorry to Bother You. I like to think of this film as a girly pop version of Lupin III & based version of The Devil Wears Prada all in one. Because I was having such an overwhelming time, it's nice to have a film remind me to not let petty bs get to me. As long as I am alive and I got my friends around me, I have to toughen my soul and just strive forward- 'to boldly go where no man has gone before.' This "hi ho" music was so hypnotizing. If you ever decide to go see this film, DO NOT watch them with your parents
