残念ですが、さようなら

It's still 3weeks4dreamwidth! We just got back from a short vacation in Prague, and today is a one-day Munich trip, lol. I'll do my best to update the prompt meme tonight (or tomorrow) and maybe drop some fills if I can... Maybe I'll also make a vacation talk post. I do miss blogging.

● origin of your username: Samifer is from the Supernatural episode (The End) where Dean goes to the bad future where Sam said yes to Lucifer, I just really loved that specific Lucifer portrayal by JarPad lol. javert is obviously yet another stubborn and suicidal French guy, although in retrospect I'm astonished I managed to grab that username.
● i always order this food: Got really into pokébowls because we have a really good place for it where we live. Right now I always pick tuna as the base meat and then just pile as many vegetables as possible. Pickled ginger is the one I always include.
● current overused emoji: THE NODDING ONE LMFAO it just has a vibe. Like sagely approving of whatever is going on. 🙂‍↕️🙂‍↕️
● current favorite show: Not sure what the answer is for me to that question right now but I can say ODDTAXI has been on my mind again lately...
● current favorite book: "Current" implies I've been reading books regularly LOLLLL but uhhh I did enjoy Dennis Cooper's The Sluts this year!
● current favorite video game: It will always be Pokémon X&Y I fear. Z-A was good though. I still need to finish the DLC and the Royale Z-A...
● song on repeat: I don't really listen to music anymore and yes I do miss it!!!
● last thing you really got into: On-Together, the coworking "game" that came out on Steam this January. Please let me know if you use it too...
● oddly specific thing that brings you joy: Getting sent a manhole stamp from Japan in Pokémon Go a few weeks ago!
● phone wallpaper: A very nice piece of L fanart that I sadly can't find the source of anymore :( my lock screen is a pic of my partners and I. Edit: The artist indeed deleted their post on Bluesky, but I managed to track down a Pixiv log that includes the art! It's the one where the Zygarde cells are passing through L's face. Fair warning that the log includes some suggestive art and some Zygarde/L.
● what smell makes you happy: Really fresh air...
● morning, night, or other type: I feel like at this point in my life I like mornings more but waking up so hard...
● what’s your work/profession: Freelance artist! Seriously working on comics this year finally!

I also made a new Meet the Artist last month! Pixel art again because it's fun. Yippee.

I feel like there was something I wanted to blog about today, but I completely forgot what it was... A likely story. I fear the heat is very quickly melting all of my remaining braincells, of which I suspect there are not many. So, you know what, let's get experimental tonight. I'm doing this stream of consciousness style.

I miss making icons... I really do just feel like making little things lately. I'm hoping to try to draw something bigger tomorrow, though. (This makes it sound like I'm about to decorate the Sixtine Chapel or whatever, but no, it's just that 99% of what I've been working on lately hasn't been larger than 250px until I sized it up for better viewing!!!)

I don't remember which year I decided that October 20th was going to be the "wedding" anniversary date for Lysandre and me, though I do remember that it's the date I first defeated Team Flare. This has always been more of a low-key/private "celebration" but this year I decided to entertain myself with a redraw of a 2016 classic.


I did think all the way back in 2014 that, like most of my fannish interests, this would last for a few months at most. I was wrong. (The thought originally came to me as I was registering my custom domain and decided not to pick "auto-renew." I still own that custom domain! I'm using it on tumblr right now but I'd like to use it for a proper website in the near future.)

The original is probably funnier, but this one felt more right for the current state of things. I wish I could really show 2014 Samifer our cool beard... I suppose this will do for now.

October is a busy anniversary month for me!! It's going to be ten years of my Team Flare Sycamore design soon, and then of course ten years of my Pokémon X&Y fic series. I never really thought about these things until now. 2023 truly has been a year.
