getyourwordsout Habit Pledge (120 Days) early in August, and I managed to get back on track with writing! October was a very productive month for me creatively, but it wasn't easy in the slightest. I assigned myself a Project and that was the goal I was working towards. I more or less managed it, but I had to take a break afterwards because I got a bit too overwhelmed. I wanted to do a repeat of it in December but got sidetracked by IRL so now it's a winter project instead of a December one. I fell very deep into a new fandom, a currently in publishing series, and I had/am having a lot of fun with doing research for it, my hobby-academic to-read list is getting a bit too long.
The bad: pandemic am I right :')

Dec. 30th, 2019 10:59 pmThe good: I resurrected an old collaborative writing project with a group of friends and I've had a lot of fun working on it! I also launched my casual intimacy project which in the end I ended up writing solely for bingqiu instead of multiple ships in multiple fandoms. One of my priorities next year is to slowly finish this ficlet collection, I'm already 4 ficlets in out of 20!! (I shuffled the prompts around from the initial 24)

MTXTX_ladiesweek even though I had a WIP for it, and I really wanted to do bingheweek because the whole prompt list was super fun and Luo Binghe is my favorite character, but I couldn't. I didn't submit my entry for hp_nextgen_fest in the end (it was a hard choice to make) and there was also the MXTX Reverse Bang which is my biggest regret of the year. None of this was my fault but it's very hard not to blame myself for failing.
I guess what I need to do next year is to take things one step (project) at a time, and not joining any more fan events. The only thing I'm allowing myself ischocolateboxcomm because it's such a low pressure exchange and even then I'm not sure if I'll sign up, I haven't nominated anything.

The bad: after April's big tick up in productivity May and especially June was a disappointment, and I only got back to writing for real for the fanweek of my otp. I had two fan events:sportsfest (from which I had to drop out of) and mxtxexchange organized on ao3 and twitter, the exchange I successfully participated in. There were 2 fanweeks I had plans (WIPs) for but I didn't get to join (qijiu, moshang). August was dreadful overall.

[fic] Shen Twins AU Introduction
May. 10th, 2019 12:41 amThe twins AU is my favorite Scum Villain canon divergent setting so naturally I wanted to take a stab at it. I think the setting has so much potential, and there are quite a few content creators who have been writing/drawing it and I love every single one! Scum Villain in general is great from a transformative fandom perspective, with the canon parallel universes and multiple versions of the characters and whatnot. MXTX gave us so much power; I'm right in the middle of MDZS (even though I started the donghua in August, I was an early second gen convert) and I'm not reading TGCF yet, but I still think as a fic writer Scum Villain is going to be my overall favorite MXTX novel to write for. I have Plans for the other two but I want to enjoy my time as a SV writer so they have to wait.
While we have several twins AUs, no one has written it in the way I wanted: approaching it as a fix-it, and a fix-it for 4 different characters. That's the core of my fic series, Shen Yuan deep down knowing how many things he did wrong and wanting to fix that (or at least trying to redo as much as he can), and entangling the frustrating and painful miscommunication mess that's Shen Jiu and Yue Qingyuan. In the second part I'll get to add a couple of very self-indulgent tropes, I'm looking forward to writing them! Hopefully other people too will enjoy this fic series.
I can't reveal the real title of the series yet because it's the title of the second story, but for easier organizing the acronym is ISAFWY. I don't think I'll get to do a title drop (I always wanted to!! title drops are so cool, my first thought is always the famous and beloved drarry fic Turn) but I believe it's fitting for the character arcs for both bingqiu and qijiu.
This series is the first actual longfic I've published, I've had multiple fics / fic series in the 10-20k range, but they are mostly failed attempts (due to utter frustration with the story itself or frustration with the fandom then quitting the fandom altogether). I honestly can't see this happening with this series, I'm that smitten with Scum Villain and this AU setting, I haven't felt this since my early times in the Haikyuu fandom.
I'm planning on recording my thoughts about this series here on this journal as I write it, mainly for myself, but maybe there might be readers who will find this interesting!

I still adore the idea and I want to finish it, but I don't know if I'm allowed to, it depends on the other people involved. We'll see.
In January I gained a new main fandom so with hypmic now I have two: the Chinese historical fantasy BL/danmei novel Scum Villain's Self Saving System. Its metanovel nature makes it super fun to play with as a content creator: you can put any trope into a canonverse fic (very much like bnha) and you can make any AU canonesque with the transmigration aspect. I'm so smitten with this fandom I've started working on a two part canon divergent series and a post-canon fic, with a possible post-canon prequel for that (I'm still considering whether to run with a minor detail that sometimes gets mentioned in passing and making that as a main theme), but I have multiple ficlet WIPs.

I usually start a fandom with either a rarepair or a PWP, this time it's a rarepair :') I was never supposed to write this pairing (or like them) but about a month ago one day at 2 am I randomly thought of that first line and I just rolled with it. There's this tumblr post (I believe OP is the author of A Breach Of Trust) that talks about how you can make an angst or a fluff writer consider prompts of the opposite tone but they’ll still end up writing angst and fluff respectively. The two examples were "death" and "sunlight" or "sunshine" I think? This fic is exactly that, except it’s SFF writers and contemporary slice of life / introspective pieces, I seem to be incapable of writing the latter. I feel the most comfortable with writing SFF, no matter what kind of fics I've published on ao3. I write canonverse fics a lot since generally I prefer those even though I have a couple of fandoms where I like AUs an canonverse fics equally, but those are my sports animanga fandoms. With hypmic I prefer canonverse but AUs are great as well!
Initially I wanted to write something super domestic, sort of aiming for getting out of my comfort zone, but I've been thinking about Fukigenna Mononokean a lot lately since S2 is coming soon, and sentient buildings is a trope I adore! The first time I've read it in fanfiction was in the Harry Potter fandom, Grimmauld Place-is-sentient definitely features in quite a lot of fics, and I've been wanting to try writing it for a while. I'm definitely revisiting this trope later, potentially in a longer fic! I'm almost sure I'm going to end up writing for this universe again, it was fun, and I did a bunch of worldbuilding that never made it into the fic.
That LINE skin is definitely unfinished but I wanted to incorporate the cute stickers so this has to do until I finish coding it, then I'll edit the fic. HIfumi's LINE is definitely not how it should look, him having the default background is totally OOC and I'm aware of this, but in a fic it has to be different than, say, in a fanart/fancomic, because we have to work with less visual clues than artists. Also I don't have transparent versions on the stickers, those are my own screenshots because a good friend of mine has them!

Back when 8tracks was popular and still usable (I know it's usable again for North Americans) and fanmixes were popular, I randomly stumbled upon an excellent instrumental playlist for the Star Wars ship stormpilot (Finn and Poe from The Force Awakens) and this was the first track—I immediately fell in love. I adore soundtracks and epic music and related genres so it was exactly My Type of music!
