Otome World

Just a reminder that, since we can't get a mod here, there's a new community over at otome_games.

Hello all! You may remember some discussion a few months back when the previous mod vanished about getting new mods. I contacted dreamwidth support at the time, and then again a few weeks ago, and they haven't gotten back to me. I don't know if anyone else has tried.

I haven't been posting as much while I waited for the situation to be resolved (which was irrational of me, really) but it looks like this is as resolved as it's going to get.

So, we have two options:

1) Stay as we are. This is the easiest option, and doesn't lose any members. But having no mod means we can't change the userinfo/header/sticky posts etc, and can't deal with spammers/trouble makers if that ever becomes a problem.

2) Create a new community. This is more effort, and will lose anyone who can't be bothered joining it. But it means we can update things like the userinfo and header, and are in a better position to handle anything that might go wrong in the future.

Personally I think we should create a new community, and am happy to do be the mod for it, along with anyone else who's interested. I can promise that I wouldn't vanish or stop doing basic administrative tasks, and while I don't have the energy for complex graphic design or lots of regular posts etc would be happy to share mod duties with other people who do.

But I want to check in with the community first.

So: what do you all want to do?

(And yes, it would all be much easier if dreamwidth just transferred mod duties over LIKE THEIR SUPPORT PAGE SAYS THEY WILL, but it looks like that's not going to happen :/)

I just finished and enjoyed "Dandelion: Wishes Brought to You", and wrote up my reactions as I went.

"Dandelion: Wishes Brought to You" is a dating sim about a depressed, lonely young woman who encounters five mysterious animals and gets to know them as pets...only for them to become human!

This is the first game made by Cheritz (Nameless, Mystic Messenger) and is a bit rough around the edges but still overall very enjoyable. The protagonist is a realistically drawn college student with anxiety caused by an abusive mother, and her arc of self discovery and healing is really well done. There's a lot of stats raising, which is sometimes cleverly integrated with the story and sometimes irritating. The love interests are varied and interesting as characters, and the romances vary from "good" to "I respect what they were going for but it didn't quite work for me". It's not full on furry but it probably helps if you think catboys and rabbitboys are cute ;)

Amnesia: Memories is a dating sim from Otomate about a woman with amnesia in one of four slightly different parallel worlds, trying to figure out what's going on and falling in love along the way. That is, if she survives that long...

This game can get fairly dark, with many of the love interests having dark secrets, and some of the bad ends being very bad. I really enjoyed it, though, and this is a huge discount for a well made game.

You also get a bunch of Hyperdimensional Neptunia games but I don't know anything about those. It's some sort of fighting game, I think.

I'm in the mood for drawing art prompts, and since I'm super into otome right now this seemed like a good place to ask! Any canon should be fine as long as you add a link to what the characters look like.
