My friend [personal profile] tinzelda has a new Due South story up! Fraser/Kowalski, NC-17. (Guys. She wrote porn. My work here is done.) It has sleepy, snuggly boys, and Ray being sweet and baffled and Fraser having ISSUES, and broken communication, and a happy ending. *happy sigh*

Yay!

move out!

I just realized ... shouldn't today be, like, a dS-fandom-wide holiday? This day, the eleventh of March?

I just got a totally unexpected present in the mail! [livejournal.com profile] tinzelda  and I had been talking about The Once and Future King -- somehow she'd never read it, and I haven't read it in years so it's due for re-reading. And she got it on Amazon for me! I have the best friends.

After about eight months of eating-sleeping-breathing Due South, I had been worried that the honeymoon was over, that the love, or at least the obsession, was starting to fade. I was terribly afraid of this happening ... it happened with MASH and I just never recaptured the same feeling. So I put myself on restricted rations: I didn't completely avoid dS fanfic, but I didn't watch the show or vids for about two weeks.

The love is back! )

So, it's possible I'm a tiny bit obsessed with Callum Keith Rennie. I've been frantically Netflixing stuff he's in, and reading back files on the lovely community
[livejournal.com profile] the_ckr_files. Thought I'd share some of my notes here. (I've tried to keep these non-spoilery -- no more than would be found on a back-of-the-box summary.)

WW, HCL, Suspicious River, Falling Angels, other stuff )

Next up on the Netflix queue: Normal, Picture Claire, and Unnatural and Accidental. And Last Night is coming in from Amazon.

Gaze with awe and wonder, O My Flist, on the cuteness:

mountie mug

This was a present from a college friend who I visited recently. I think it's my new favorite possession.

Due South is adorable and slashy and adorably slashy and I want to take Paul Gross home and cuddle him. (Or possibly I want to take Benton Fraser home and ... I dunno, let him iron my clothes or something.) My mom's hooked too -- we watched six or seven episodes on Monday together, and I'm about two-thirds through the first season. I'm using the show as my "let's think about something other than the dog now" strategy, for which it serves admirably.
