Targeted Scanning

edit

To scan another ship, turn on your ships scanner (Default Bind V.) Align the ship or rock with your crosshairs and hold down left click to scan. The closer you are to the target, the more information is visible

Zooming in While Scanning

edit
Image

To zoom in on a specific object like a rock, use the mouse wheel to increase or decrease the size that your scanner focuses on. This can be useful if there is more then 1 object from where you are tying to scan.
