pretty dresses

As I no longer fit 90% of my party clothes, I took the occasion to buy two new dresses for the conference I'm going to this week:-

* this floral number for the Friday night (which fits differently on me than the model because I have boobs, though still not particularly busty); and

* this flocked black number which looks and feels like taffeta, for the Saturday night.

Genuinely really excited about getting to wear these.

  • Four episodes into SG-1 season four.

    ( None of these thoughts are deep )

  • I also watched Magic Mike XXL last night. That sure was a movie that happened. I am deeply not the target audience. I feel like I've watched a documentary about an alien civilisation I don't understand. The natural habitat of this film is big screens at the kinds of hens nights where women drink champagne cocktails through penis straws, not my house. I feel the kind of confusion and cringe you get when you watch someone else's fantasies for two hours. Why was 60% of the film piss yellow? Did nobody working on this film understand lighting? Why was there only five minutes worth of plot?


  • I bought this dress today, which is so deeply me I don't understand why I didn't own it until now. It sold out online in my size before I ever knew it existed, so I had to go hunting for an offline store that still had it. Worth it.
