Thank you to all who helped make The Walrus Gala 2026: In Conversation an inspiring and resounding evening to remember.
Together, we raised close to $500,000 to further strengthen and sustain award-winning, independent journalism at The Walrus. This vital support matters, as it goes directly toward the journalism, storytelling, and ideas that Canadians need right now.
As a registered charity, this means that because of you, we are able to continue reporting on the issues that matter most to us all, in pursuit of an informed, thriving democracy.
A heartfelt thank you to our 2026 Gala Committee Co-Chairs Jennifer F. Longhurst and Zai Mamdani, and to committee members John Delacourt and Rob Farina. This evening’s success would not have happened without their leadership and vision. Check out some snaps from the evening courtesy of George Pimentel Photography.
We are especially grateful to Dr. Duke Redbird, poet and elder, as well as Measha Brueggergosman-Lee, who truly delivered a show-stopping performance we’ll never forget. The powerful work from these artists inspired an evening of curiosity, connection, and conversation.
And if you enjoyed our music during dinner, please tune in to The Walrus Gala 2026 Spotify playlist.
We look forward to welcoming you back in 2027, when The Walrus Gala steps into an exciting new era at The Liberty Grand. You won’t want to miss it.
