Sorry about the delay, it's been a hectic week.

Anyway, last time, Kevin got to visit his first city, meet an attractive dwarf girl, and Chekhov's pickpocket struck. Oops.

For once a south-eastern wind is definitely preferable to a north-west one, so I could run the AC today,  which I couldn't last night. But this will change overnight and the particulates will return tomorrow unless the severe thunderstorms wash them from the air. I don't smell smoke when I'm outside but do in the house, annoyingly. Seems to me I was much more blasé about wildfires the last two bad years, '23 and '25. 'Outside is unspeakable, the light is orange, I'm staying in.' But then I don't recall the window AC pulling in air that hurt my lungs either, so I suppose this year really is worse. As for the sneezing and coughing, that's called July hereabouts. But am glad I rescheduled my dentist to August.

Went up the street to get a prescription and more bread and such and figured that was me for the day. But then the extended forecast (rain) prompted me to go out this evening to return the Renaissance book and visit the grocer for raspberries and avocado and mango slices. Could have continued on to Bathurst and the bank for small bills (why did they move from accessible Euclid, why?) but the evening was muggy if cool and I just wanted to go home. However I walked back along  Bloor to my street and got a gelato from the new store, and ate it while watching the Friday evening crowds doing their Friday evening thing. But is for others undiminished somewhere.

My Libby reading is Kakuriyo, the manga about a college student whose grandfather, like Ritsu's, was a master manipulator of ayakashi, and who now has to pay off the million dollars he wound up owing inbthe spirit world. And of course she does it by cooking and of course she's genki and positive and determined and all that, and it's rather getting on my nerves the way that Dungeon Meshi never did. But that's because genki and akarui heroines are uninteresting in their happy conformity to Japanese values. Give me Ritsu and his complexé cousins any day. TennoCon 2026 was, overall, a huge success! Even if I didn't make it into the Community Showcase (which tbh I was over it about a day later), it was filled with a lot of wonderful, fun memories. The concert itself was gorgeous, TennoLive was phenomenal, and I even made amends with someone whom I'd been beefing with (albeit one-sided, admittedly) for over a year now. Feeling a lot more optimistic about the future of Warframe than I've been for the past 2 years now.

Books on the geometrical underpinnings of ancient and medieval architecture are very common, and most of them are drivel. There are plenty of reasons for this, but the most important is the fact that most of their authors know very little about how buildings are put up, and so come up with schemes that couldn't have been used by builders before modern times. It's too often forgotten, for example, that building from paper blueprints is a very modern habit; until not that many centuries ago, nobody did that. Instead, the ground plan was marked out on the cleared building site using strings and stakes, following a geometrical pattern, and everything above the ground was placed according to folk tradition, the habits of the building tradesmen, or some equally straightforward geometrical pattern that could be measured out with strings or drawn out life size on a wooden tracing board using chalk, charcoal, and red clay for the lines. 

John James's Chartres: The Masons who built a Legend is the exception to this dismal rule. James is an Australian architect-builder, and he brought extensive experience in the building trades to a close study of the stonework of Chartres Cathedral, one of the supreme achievements of medieval Gothic architecture. He was able to work out readily how the different parts of the structure were set out and constructed, and in the process he laid bare an extraordinary wealth of detail about the individual master masons and their work crews of journeymen and apprentices who labored on Chartres. 

Nothing I've been able to find online mentions whether James is a Freemason. If he's not, that's even more remarkable, as this book explains more about the roots of modern Freemasonry than anything else I've read in the last decade at least. so some years ago i picked up reading drops of god off an anime youtuber's recommendation on extremely underrated manga, and he was so right, but only like 80-120 of the 439 chapters were available for me to read at the time, so i was unable to complete it.

fast forward to like april when i learned that drops of god was getting an anime adaptation and jumping on it, only to discover that it is um. bad. not good. why did they cover 148 chapters in 14 episodes, that should be illegal, etc etc etc.

anyway, so i picked up the manga again, having found out that the rest of it had been translated in the years since. and smth interesting abt it is that it always describes each wine as having, like, an "image" to it, which comes to mind when drinking the wine. now, i have only had six sips of wine in my life (three red and three white in a wine bar w/my sister when i turned twenty-three), but i remember being severely disappointed by that lack of "image" from those few sips alone.

but now, being older and having torn through the other 291 chapters (picking up where the anime last week left off), i think i have a better sense of what the manga was trying to say with the concept of an "image" that comes to mind when eating or drinking something. in a way, it seems to be similar to how music can conjure an image in one's mind, which is something i can understand and do very easily, perhaps in part because i have some classical training in piano— it's not a literal image, but various aspects of the art (which this manga considers wine to fall under) which together evoke feelings or memories from the audience. that's why a wine can taste like "the last teddy bear my mom gave me before leaving forever", just as one example from the manga. or how we ended up with that milf wine arc

dreamspace is place , or perhaps non-place , in which dreams occur . dreamspace form scenery , objects , and characters out of dreamstuff . some theorise that dreamspace is sentient in self , not unlike courtlands , while others would say dreamspace simply churn through whatever brain supply without sentience to argue otherwise . 

courtiers can learn to control dreamstuff , in process known as weave . this is usually easier from non-front perspective , as fronters need to gain lucidity .

whoever fall asleep in front is witness of dream , but not always participant . participants take personal presence within dream , and thus make choices within dream , ultimately guide where things will go . witnesses do not , and generally only watch . not all witnesses need to be in front , but anyone who is in front is witness at minimum .

something curious is that in this way , witnesses can occasionally witness either courtier memories , or metaphysical travels . precise mechanisms yet unknown and probably will remain so .

just think about all of this because see mentions of collective members who arise from dreams , and think ... never really happen here .

dreamspace characters have only minimum depth necessary to serve role , and then either go silent and blank or disappear entirely once irrelevant . not once , over years of record both dreams and courtiers , find case where dream character come to life as part of court .

could theoretically be dream witness to someone who travel out in world and then bring back another person to join court , but that is still not really someone rise from dream - dream is just viewpoint of external event . in some weird way , almost wish this would happen and prove possible here - think such courtier would have genuinely cool perspective , and would love to help find place among court . but after this long with no instances , probably not .

The Sievers siblings and the Arzamastsevs head home after Christmas at Jon and Ella's family's. Maurice is driving; Jon is shotgun; the two women are in the back seat, but Ella keeps poking her head forward to chat.

"Both can be true at once," she says, while Jon looks down at his lap. "Everything they said was ordinary and obvious AND upsetting to hear."

I'm a bit more sane mentally or at least that's what I think, life became more manageable once I figured out how to act. I'm still hopelessly into you, but I'm not bothered by it, liking you is one of the nicest feelings ever.
The countrywide storm hit and all I can think about is wanting to be there with you cuddling and drinking something warm while we talk about life.

So far, the game's been pretty easy. The new 'Logic' mechanic isn't hard at all; you just have to use common sense to piece shit together, like they made me try to deduce what the murder weapon was, AKA the object with blood on it. I'm just not a big fan of the new psycholocks, ig. We aren't doing court appearances anymore, too. The whole thing now is to conduct investigations that end with someone getting arrested. Other than Investigations, another game I've been obsessed with is WAN2TALK?. Example #1. I changed the app's icon, even though it doesn't have an official one, so it wouldn't look out of place on my desktop. I changed it to a promo image and converted that jpeg into an ico file through some converter, cuz a jpeg wouldn't have worked. The game also has cryptic messages, so I practically spent all day trying to decode them. Some of them were found on Cain's twitter (yeah he has a twitter pls dont question it. There was also a morse code tweet that went like ''i cant reach out, blah blah, flesh is to bbq'' or something), and another one was from the game itself. So the past days have been a bit like the past weeks have in general, a sense of feeling ‘tuned out’ especially at night. It’s a weird feeling that I can’t fully articulate, but I wish I could, because it’s so annoying.

But I digress, onto the post (and I just saw the Friday five which looks interesting this week so I might do that late or tomorrow.

I saw that Netflix have a new show coming called Below which is about a sea monster terrorising a coastal town so I’m really interested already. It’s also got Josh Hartnett and Charlie Heaton in it. Maybe there’ll be a trailer at comic con.

Also speaking of comic con, Hasbro have a panel… and let slip they have the license for the Zelda film and will be showing some off next week. That’s gotta mean a trailer is due too surely?

Being tuned out in the night has meant I’ve not been able to do much. But I did have better nights Wednesday and last night. On Wednesday I watched the Strange New Worlds/Lower Decks crossover ep, which was so fun and funny. I loved it so many, it’s made me wanna watch the rest of the show. I just have to remember where I left off (I think it was season 3 I fully watched?). Then I watched the next Widow’s Bay and damn, I feel so bad for Patricia.

Then last night I watched one of the films from my arrow delivery! The first Sana film, which has a band called Generations (also known as Generations from Exile Tribe). Thoughts ahoy!

This morning I was gonna go see The Odyssey, intending to go to the first showing. So I came down and had the bright idea to do pop tarts, since I’d seen the boxset the other day… and I managed to fuck it up, scalding my hand getting one out and the other broke apart in the toaster. So now my hand had three blisters which wasn’t fun at all.

I still managed to go, albeit an hour later.

Yesterday evening, parts of the Catalina Mountains north of Tucson got utterly pummeled with rain. Based on that, this morning we headed for the old stomping grounds along Skyline Road to look for more swarms and queens.

And lo, there were swarms. And lo, there were queens. We managed to collect so many that we've run out of places to put them. We did not individually paintmark this cohort, so getting the queens into nests took far less time.

One of my research students really misses their cats and pets back home, so I agreed to take them to a Cat Cafe this afternoon. I should have brought along a book or some knitting, but I did enjoy time petting the cats and kittens and playing with the more playful ones.

I need to carve out more thinking time for myself in the near future. Circumstances here make it very difficult to concentrate. S calls some manifestations of this sort of thing the "thought tragedy of the commons," when one person voicing thoughts out loud makes it difficult for others to maintain a train of thought, and thus they adopt the same tactic of voicing thoughts out loud. Only, I don't *think* I'm voicing thoughts out loud, I'm just losing track of my train because of so many different things to think about and do (and I think also partly because I'm doing all the driving everywhere).

Tomorrow, however, I have plans for a bike ride.

I really liked this one. It may not be horrific enough for some, but it absolutely drips with an almost suffocating atmosphere. Whether it's accurate in depicting the Louisiana bayou I don't know, but it comes across well. I was actually startled to turn on the commentary track and find the director was as English as I am!

Kate Hudson puts in a solid performance in the lead, though Gena Rowlands rather outdoes her and John Hurt manages to be charismatic even though he barely said a word. The pace is generally as languid as the setting, and I think it fits. The big twist actually works, at least for me, and some of what goes before is, if not terrifying, then certainly disturbing. Rotten Tomatoes says 38% for this film. I don't.

This was a £1 charity shop DVD, and buying the film on that format reminds me of what we're mostly missing these days. First quite random thing I would like to point out in this quite random entry, is that I can’t believe how so many people have appreciated my recent oekaki of Ruby, both are available to view on Fanart Central and DeviantArt. I mean, I can believe it in a way but you all know what I mean… right? But anywho, thank you everyone on both platforms (but mainly DA) for the overwhelming amounts of appreciation that I would never usually get because I’m a sore loser ^_^. Oh, and another thing I forgot to mention, thank you so so much Ang on FAC for that beautifully scripted comment regarding my art improvement. I always hop back on FAC just to see that specific comment on my recent drawing because… dunno, i’m weird? who knows!? Maybe I’m not the only one who does that sort of thing.

Second quite randomer thing is that I am still working on the sixth version of the Angel Dust Network. At the moment, there are a limited amount of pages available to have a look at, such as my main/home page, the About me section, and basically a whole new summery look (obviously!). Right now, I am still working on a few of my characters’ information pages. Not the main one where you can click on each character’s names which will lead you to information about that specific one, but hopefully and shortly soon I will get on to it! But then again, my life outside of the internet is busy (when is it not?) so the chances of me forgetting to update and leaving my website to rot for the next month or two are incredibly high. ;-;

Work was busy, this week's trend of "stuff I don't normally think about/know much about" continues!

After work I just had time for a little doze before it was time to leave for the transgym book social -- it's not a book club because we're not all reading the same book, we just chat about what we're reading. People reading paper books bring those, and at the end stack them all up and there's a photo of them shared in the group chat.

I hadn't been able to go when it's been held inside cafés without clean air, but I could join today in the park. And in a park that I could get to on my bike! It was fun to bike there (though annoying that road works blocked my way at a crucial point! but I got around it! I was proud of myself for persisting and figuring it out, which is not always very easy if you can't see).

It was actually slightly chilly by the time we left, after 9pm! Someone said it was the first time in a couple weeks that they had felt cold, heh. My sweaty body was certainly a little chilly on my ride home, but I was pouring sweat once I walked inside.

Two bike rides in two days, after none for ages! Gotta enjoy these long evenings while I can. I can tell I'm out of shape, my goodness did my thighs have Opinions on the way back. Felt good to manage it though.

July Family Visit Travelog #2
BNA Airport · Fri, 17 Jul 2026. 4:45pm.

After departing San Jose this morning we're now in Nashville awaiting our connection. Keyword: awaiting. We should be boarding right now, but the schedule's been jiggered around a bunch of times. Currently we're sitting on a delay of 1 hour 20 minutes. There's been an aircraft swap plus there are thunderstorm delays rippling across the system. The estimate has bounced around so much, out and back, that I'm not sure when we'll actually leave— and I don't think I will be sure until we're aboard the aircraft and turning onto the runway.

It's a good thing our schedule today isn't time-sensitive. I mean, it'll suck a bit not getting in until around midnight tonight, including our 2+ hour drive from DC, We can handle that. Where it'll start to really suck is if our connecting flight tonight is canceled due to weather and we have to (a) sleep in the terminal unless we can find a hotel room and are willing to pay whatever high-demand rate they charge, and (b) scramble to find seats on a flight tomorrow. I hope it doesn't come to that. (And no, that's not some imagined worst-case scenario. It's actually happened to me. Multiple times.)

Nonstop on a Red-eye, or This?

This reminds me of the wisdom of flying non-stop flights when traveling coast-to-coast. Connect somewhere mid-continent and it's bound to suck. In the winter there are blizzards. In the summer there are thunderstorms. In the fall and spring there are just random delays. Flying nonstop heads off a lot of the risks. Unfortunately the timings on non-stops didn't work for us this trip.

This trip we opted not to to take a red-eye like we have the past few trips out to the east coast. We've slept very poorly on the last several of them, leading to us being wrecked the next day and having to take naps. Then, because of having taken a nap it's harder to get on the local schedule. In the dream, I was working (once again) at the station we both worked at for the majority of the aughts¹. And I say "once again" since my temporarily filling in there seems to be a sporadically recurring theme to the deep level slumber that's consistently evaded me for the better part of the past ten years.

It's always in a different space, as well as geographic place, and now that I come to think about it I'm almost sure it's replaced another formerly recurring past job and still working there situation that used to infect my dreams from a whole different era of my life before this one stepped in and took precedence in the dreaming world.

(I would not ever want to be at either of those places anymore.)

The first was in Pennsylvania, and the appearance in my dreams had fluctuated in between a summer job at McDonald's (that lasted a bit too long once I went to start courses at a local college) and a year or so stint as a shift manager at Burger King almost a decade later. In any case, like the more recent job across town, the crux of the exposition in my dreams was to fulfill a shift I couldn't get to...or was basically tired of even trying to keep in the long run.

But last night's dream was different. I had completed the shift. I was doing it for the last time. And even though I kept waking up and returning to the slumbering tableaux at hand, I actually awoke feeling confident and more secure with what I've been going through in the waking world than I have since all the changes of the past few months had started.

I haven't had a healing sleep like this in what seems like forever.

Anyone know anything about the band Mirror of Nightmares?

Deezer is warning for AI content on the first album, which... I try not to support such. But fuck if this is not the operatic hard rock I love. So... outside opinions?

ETA: Passion Project by Steven Saville, Website here, which lends credence to the idea it was AI-assisted, at the very least. Good reasons, wish he was more upfront on the album-making, credits for any artists and musicians involved, etc.

Like I said, the two albums sound GOOD. But. Credit your workers, and that includes what tools you used to make it in this day and age, so folks can decide "oh they used tools trained ethically" vs "oh that used tools trained on stolen music".

My executive function has evaporated like the morning dew, I guess.

I had a wonderful week away with my friend, during which we watched

the most recent season of The Pitt

which I had already seen but very much enjoyed seeing again. I have doubts that Robby will go on his sabbatical at all, and while I have severe doubts that the show will actually have him die by suicide, I wouldn't be too surprised if he attempts. I mean, in a way even more obvious than passing an ambulance on a motorcycle at highway speed with no visibility and while not wearing a helmet. I continue to really appreciate each patient drama; many of them move me to tears.

although we almost didn't because the screen of the TV in our VRBO was really dark and we couldn't figure out any way to fix it. Almost the entire movie takes place in the dark! But we stuck it out, with the help of captions, and loved it. I am amazed that the little I'd read about it in advance said very little about it being about racism; iirc, all I really heard about was vampires and music? But what it is about is racism. When the vampires started singing British folk tunes I got chills.

which I have wanted to see ever since I saw a preview of it at another movie's coming attractions, but I missed it because it only stayed in theaters for about five days, because who's going to devote attention to a movie about a middle-aged woman trying to reconnect with her daughter. But it was on some service my friend subscribes to, so we were able to see it, and it was great. I appreciated that the movie didn't shy away from making Ricki distinctly unlikeable in some ways. The ending strained credulity, but by then I didn't care.

Хочу поделиться рецептом, который у меня воспринимается как самая простая и уютная домашняя еда, но как оказалось, есть люди, которые про нее не слышали.

Берем сдобное тесто. Или не очень сдобное, тесто для пиццы тоже годится, и его даже удобнее жарить. Посыпаем поверхность мукой, тесто раскатываем в лепешку. Размер зависит от сковордки. На большую сковородку как раз половины фунтового пакетика теста из Трейдер Джа достаточно, и это разумная порция на одно рыло за раз. На маленькую сковородку - еще поделить на две лепешки.

Берем сковородку. В классическом виде это была чугунная сковордка, но в наши времена толстая алюминиевая лучше. Кладем в сковородку и растапливаем до кипения сливочное масло или маргарин, в приличных количествах. Без масла ничего не выйдет, получится какая-нибудь греческая или узбекская лепешка, а не русская.

Кладем лепешку на сковородку. Масла должно быть столько чтоб была покрыта вся нижняя поверхность лепешки и еще вылазило по бокам. Убавляем огонь до примерно 3/4, жарим. Лепешка при этом разбухает. Если лепешка сильно разбухает, ее надо жарить дольше на меньшем огне. Из настоящего сдобного теста она разбухает сильно, из теста для пицы - пузырится по чуть-чуть. A year ago, I started the day with prayer, did some major work on the Power BI reports, upset Husband, and ended with a church meeting.

Today began with some more of Anne's Adventures. Not that she's really adventuring yet - she's currently enduring the first evening as mistress of Rosings Park.

I had a meeting in the morning with Favourite Colleague and their dream of linking the academic calendar to individual calendars. We started with the fun and games going on in Clacton, and finished with some chat about Doctor Who. But we did do what we were officially meeting for, too :D

This morning I went through the actions from my 1:1. I've given myself the next 5 weeks to get through them. I have lots of space in my calendar, so I can at least make progress towards them.

After dinner we had the wrap-up session for Module 6, which actually recapped the description of a 'helpdesk' in the kick-off - which I wasn't able to attend. But I still think the actual conversation with the coach was the most use in explaining it. I spent some time this afternoon using Atlas as a coach to help me work out what my actual project will be. I think I've got an inkling - something about summarising the spreadsheet that stores the data from the MSForm. I'll take another look next week.

I also used Copilot to create a report from some notes I made from a conversation about a particular role and the outcomes of our lessons learned session yesterday. As the 'human at the helm', I reviewed what it had produced - which was very close to what I asked for but not quite right. I made some tweaks to the request and ended up with something I was happy with. I've shared it with LM ahead of a follow-up meeting I've set up.

We went to the chippy tonight because Husband made tea last night. It was very nice to sit outside in the cool evening and stuff our faces :)

We don't talk enough about how Stephen Miller is straight out of central casting for "weaselly, evil Number 2". As someone said to me recently, he is where he is because he lacks the upper body strength to strangle prostitutes.

It's only really in the last year so far (2007) that I'd posted enough in "not-wrestling" fandoms for some to be covered by "other". The variety is only going to grow :)

Верочке в парке подарили собаку-воздушный шарик. Шарик идет следом на веревочке лапами-гармошками и издали очень похож на настоящую собаку. Её путали с живой и встречные люди, и, как ни странно, собаки, которые сперва лаяли издали или тянулись к нам, а вблизи обнюхивали шарик. Верочка шарик воспитывала, объясняла, что нельзя лезть в лужи и гонять кошек.

А еще у нас в парке появились лисы. Я видела плакаты с запретом кормить уток - от обилия корма много мышей, а это привлекает лисиц, но решила, что это преувеличение. Пока не встретила парочку. Скорее всего, они живут на кладбище рядом. Вспомнила "Страшные истории для маленьких лисят".    

 

Рустем в ноябре 2019 года. Ясиня, Яблуныця

В ноябре 2019 года мы весело жили в Ясиня. Эмма и Рустем бегали по холмам, трава на которых уже превратилась в колючие желтые палочки старой соломы.

А ноябрьское солнце и тучи создавало удивительные картины

Было холодно, одиноко и таинственно. Нам нравилось

Осень хорошее время. Всякая дичь спускается с гор, и собаки очень заинтересованы

А потом мы поехали на несколько дней в Яблуныцю, село на перевале, на границе Закарпатской и Ивано-Франковской областей. Это Рустем в автобусе

Там мы сразу же пошли гулять по местным холмам и нашли вот такой поминальный крест в честь возвращения из Караганды сосланных Сталиным местных жителей

Ноябрь на Яблунецком перевале вовче не тоскливый, а очень даже красивый

На следующий день была хмурая и даже дождливая погода, и мы блуждали в смерековом лесу возле Яблуныци

Правда, гуляли мы недолго, потому что пришлось идти домой из-за дождя

А вот следующий день был уже более погожим, и мы взобрались на холм, ведущий в Буковель

Our office is on the 6th floor, which is as high as our building goes before you end up outside (but higher). The space between the roof and our ceiling is home to a colony of bats, who generally prefer their home and outside (but higher), unless one of them gets sick or a bunch of workers are hammering on the roof. Which, I've had my home roof worked on, and they require someone over 18 to be at the house the whole time they're there, no matter how much the sound of hammering makes you need medication. I totally sympathise with the bats there.

Anyway, while it's not something they enjoy, occasionally a bat makes its way through the ventilation system, spills onto our floor, and suddenly surrounded by light, noise, and weird talking primates, starts flying around. It won't hurt you (unless it's on the floor, which means it's sick and you should avoid it or put a large box over it until the Men Who Net Bats arrive), and indeed doesn't even want to touch you, but even though Nebraska is full of bats that do us a solid by eating mosquitos, most people never see them unless they go looking.

So one, or possibly two (accounts vary) bats from upstairs paid us a visit today, and people started screaming like babysitters being stalked by Monte Propps. Someone phoned Building Division for the Men Who Net Bats.

I didn't think to name the bat(s), but they were handsome and doing their best to avoid the giant mammals, and you could easily track where they were on the floor by the screams.

Rachael had gone out to her car for something. She took the elevator up. The door opened, and she saw a co-worker duck down screaming as a bat flew past. Another co-worker dove into the elevator car screaming THERE'S A BAAAAAT! Rachael decided to take the elevator back down to the lobby and get a coffee.

Voyager Ongoing Missions in the Delta Q

Mission Log: Capt. Dojan Hux of the USS Voyager NCC 74656

Log 1:
It is with great trepidation that I take over command of the USS Voyager and this crews' ongoing efforts to return to the Alpha Quadrant. Upon an extensive evaluation process of handpicked personnel by senior officers, 3 in total, I was requested to accept command. My years of service to Starfleet in times of peace and war solidified my push into the chair - I am apprehensive but a finer crew I could not ask to serve with, for, or beside. Since her disappearance, into the Alpha Quadrant or elsewhere, Capt. Janeway's legacy of trust and respect among all crew members has been maintained.

13:00 hrs
I was called to sickbay by Commander Chakotay. I asked several questions prior to leaving my ready room and my hot cup of Mak'Ala tea - I was told he was fine, and that no one was injured at the moment.
I entered sickbay and was immediately confronted by Chakotay and the Doctor with a Medical Mystery and an ongoing, and unkown to me, Emergency. Apparently there has been an ongoing illness among a very small number of crewman. This illness has been caused by the Shields, and is fatal with a 2-3 month mortality. Crewman Donovan is the most recent casualty, dying within the last hour, full honors to be extended. 
Other than Chakotay and the Doctor, none are aware of the dangers associated with Shield usage. The theory ties together the recent Shield modifications, the Borg tech needed to do so, and Janeway's recent mission which led to her, and her only, reaching the Alpha Quadrant. The Doctor has been unable to use the full power of systems to track the disease due to the recent Borg modifications and power drains, but the recent death of Donovan has allowed him to gather vital information related to blood markers and symptoms. 
I was also informed that somehow Kneelix, who is no longer aboard may hold the key to what the disease is or how to combat it. I advise Tuvak th (Read more)

У каждой семьи свой расход. Есть семьи — и большинство в нашей стране, и не только в нашей — где доход семейный составляет от 200 до 300 тысяч рублей. Они умудряются кормить двоих детей, одевать, обувать себя, детей, отправлять их в школу. А есть семьи, кто зарабатывает миллион долларов в день, и тем не менее им мало. Есть, конечно, сумма, но она абстрактная, это все на уровне — «а если бы». Существуют такие деньги, которые дали бы мне возможность не думать о музыке и вообще ни о чем. Но с годами потребность с деньгами пропадает. Ты понимаешь, что есть ценности в жизни, а есть мимолетные увлечения.

P.S. Напоминает нашу струку суку, у которой министрам не хватает зарплат, они у родителей одалживаются. Я уверен, найдутся русские патриоты, как и израильские патриоты под тем постом, которые легко распедалят, почему Лепс молодец, что он имел в виду, и как надо правильно посчитать, чтобы средняя зарплата вышла в те самые 200К деревянных. Когда одна часть операционной системы утверждает, что удалённый доступ к консоли включён, а другая часть клянётся и божится, что выключен — это называется “шизофрения”.

Какой дурдом.

Во мне всё крепнет решение уйти на Мак. Зае… в смысле, надоело уже вот так расшибать лоб на ровном, казалось бы, месте.

Оно, конечно, понятно, что на Маке тоже есть свой дурдом — просто с другими санитарами. Но хотя бы отрисован он будет красивее, чем на этом непотребстве с выцветшими окнами.

Съездили с товарищами и открыли тремя выстрелами с крыши из специальных мортирок - (т.н. Böller) празднование дня города (там где у меня расположен стрелковый клуб). Это для нас с одноклубниками стало уже традицией.
Ну и о Böller'ах я уже часто и подробно писал (кто пропустил и кому интересно см. тэг). Добавить особо не чего.
Но не удержался и сделал несколько фотографий. =)
Тем более этот вариант я особо не фотографировал. Он необычный. А с прикладам и облегчённым стволом (поэтому в него заряжают не 30 граммов чёрного пороха, а 15). Приклад тут, конечно, чисто декоративный элемент -

1. Books or movies?

Movies. Mainly because my eyesight is too bad to focus on books for long, especially as I have to stare at the computer screen a lot for my job, and also my attention span is so short these days. But I've always loved movies, ever since I was young.

2. Indoors or outdoors?

Indoors. I rarely go out anymore but I much prefer indoors, I'm a thinker, not a sporty person.

3. Morning person or night owl?

Neither. Probably a 'late morning person' or 'early evening person.' I get up fairly early but go to bed early too. I'm generally a tired person with little energy.

4. Online messaging or physical letters?

I would like to write physical letters but people don't like those anymore and wouldn't reply. I even gave up sending Christmas cards recently because other people had given up already. So I write emails instead, I prefer that to short quick commenting on social media, my brain doesn't work like that.

5. Dragons or unicorns?

Probably unicorns as they seem less violent.
