I've been researching the idea of Unconditional Basic Income since 2013. Here's a list of findings I've compiled from various UBI experiments, unconditional cash transfer studies, and cash dividend research. The data speaks for itself. Data: reddit.com/r/BasicIncome/… #basicincome

The article in which this quote is from is factually incorrect. The thesis does not make a direct link between increased microplastics in the brain and dementia; it urges other studies to try and correlate a link between the two. This can be found in the conclusion paragraph. ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/P…

This isn't only about #NetNeutrality. This is about democracy. When 80% of Americans don't want something, and the government does it anyway, that is a direct violation of the will of the people. It erodes faith in government as an institution worth engaging in or even defending.

It's official: No global warming for 8 years and 5 months, per NASA satellite data. That's no warming despite ~475 billion tons of CO2 emissions. CO2 warming is the biggest scientific hoax of all time. wattsupwiththat.com/2023/02/03/the…

You gotta love how Walz gets universalism. He's just like, look, let's just get food into kids and to hell with rich and poor.

Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (DFL) explains why he rejected Republican lawmakers' attempts to means-test school meals for K-12 students: "The haves and the have-nots in the school lunchroom is not a necessary thing. Just feed our children."

We already have 1,000 would-be Mozarts who instead of learning music and honing their skills are doing shit jobs for shit wages. They're spending their time just surviving instead of blessing the rest of us with music we'd love. What these would-be Mozarts need is basic income.

This is it. This is the logic. This is what everyone needs to understand. Federal spending to reduce poverty is an investment with an ROI that is better than 1:1, especially child poverty, which is a 10x investment. Poverty prevention pays for itself. This is how to get to UBI.

Excellent answer on funding CTC. There’s zero benefit to getting sucked into a “how are you gonna pay for it” game

Consider also that a Universal Basic Income of $1300/mo would be equivalent to a $7.50/hr increase in the min wage for those working 40-hr weeks and $15/hr increase for those working 20-hr weeks. Unlike min wage, UBI would also increase strike power and reach unpaid care workers.

Iceland recently completed a 4-yr trial of a 4-day week with no reduction of pay with 1% of its population taking part. The result? Productivity increased. Well-being increased. It was such a success their unions are already negotiating for it nationwide.

The results from Germany's 3-year UBI experiment are out! 122 people got €1200/mo for 3 years. All were age 21-40 and employed with €1100-€2600/mo pay. They were happier, healthier, saved more, gave more, enjoyed more social time and DID NOT WORK LESS than the control group.
