mal1 eventually looks up from her navel and is rather surprised to find that the world appears to be full of amazing sights and interesting people. This revelation leaves her feeling she has some catching up to do, and thus the desire to travel, to explore and to take photographs was born.
This journal is an attempt to record some tentative musings about photography - not the technical stuff so much as the looking, seeing, framing, portraying and unportraying, light, colour, texture, patterns, space and stories stuff.
I wanted to call this journal tangential, but it was already taken so I've had to improvise. The name appealed because it conveys simultaneously departure and convergence, irrelevance and completion. The containment of opposite meanings in the same word has a perverse appeal as well, of course.
Feedback is very welcome.
