I just found out that a sequel to Gash Bell* has been going since 2022.

Why... did I not hear about this? I knew I have been out of touch with animanga world but...

Gash Bell reminds me of high school times. I had a friend who owned a lot of Gash Bell manga so I borrowed them from him and read them all. I... think. For some reason I cannot remember the ending, but I can just read summaries online to rehash my memory.

What would the sequel be like? Let us see......

* Yes, I know Gash Bell is more known as... Zatch Bell in the US. No, I am not going to use the US localized names. Just... no. Sorry US citizens!
** YES I know it probably was not right either to refer to the manga itself as Gash Bell. It should be 金色のガッシュ!!. But, eh. Anything but Zatch Bell kldsfkldsfls

I have not checked news or anything related to Umineko for a long time. When I was browsing around the 07th Expansion Wiki, I just found out that there is a completely new episode titled "Last Note of The Golden Witch".

MINOR SPOILER: No, I have not read it yet. But I was talking about another episode which may be spoilertastic. )

I just found out this streaming / VoD service called GagaOOLala.

Apparently it is a Taiwanese service that specializes in LGBT content. I discovered this few days ago on Twitter. So in a local BL community someone asked if anyone have seen Semantic Error and what they thought of it. It is one of the shows you can watch there and I think it is an exclusive, judging by the poster. I have yet to check out whether it is possible for me to use their service, but lOOK AT THAT POSTER. I"M SOLD. HEIGHT DIFFERENCE? FRENEMY VIBES? AH AH AH.

(Yes, I am fully aware I have yet to finish watching Gameboys lmao)

I... just found out this media called "Deuxmoi".

It is on Instagram, and posts gossips and blind items as stories. So it is pretty much like Gossip Girl (in fact, I only knew this from the reboot Gossip Girl — a character mentioned it), but is not limited to that. There is also "spotted!", casting news, help wanted, and more. Everything is to be taken with a bucket of salt as almost all of them are UGC, but surprisingly it does not have this bombastic and catty feeling to it. If anything, the atmosphere feels juicy yet polite.

Deuxmoi also has a website and a Twitter, but it pretty much operates mainly on IG. Its feeds are clean and so can be easilly followed without spamming your timeline. I also found an article that showed Deuxmoi used to be a bit different. It used to be a private account?..

I said I would update more frequently here but lmao lM A O......

Ahem. Well, let me start writing simple posts first.

So, I just found out that Telling Lies, a game made by Sam Barlow, of Her Story, has already been released. I was greatly anticipating this but for some reason I lost track of time, forgot to check the news and suddenly it's 2021 omg

What Barlow has said about the game so far was true. Looks like this time it's even more complex than Her Story. I'm ready for some investigations! But probably not anytime soon since I've been trying to minimize my expenses lately (long story). I even skipped Steam's summer sale sobs

A month or later, perhaps!

I just found out, all these years, that the name of the 3rd level in Tomb Raider III, The River Ganges, refers to an actual river called Ganges. In my language it's known as "Gangga". Now that one I am familiar with.

I have always assumed "ganges" was a word in plural meaning a narrow river surrounded by cliffs like how it's depicted in the game lol. The way the phrase is written is also weird. "The River Ganges"? Why not "Ganges River"?..

Besides racing, the only sports that I follow is badminton, although I have to admit I'm not really a huge fan of it. I usually get my updates from Twitter user @BadmintonTalk, which is one of the most popular badminton sports account in this country, has a huge following and tweets quite often.

The account sometimes tweets things in this style:

Image

Always some form of statistics, with a number at the beginning, followed by the explanations, and summarized with a single word. I have always suspected that this style of writing is probably not original, since it's just so delicately written, but I had no idea how to find that out. One day, when I was randomly searching for De Bruyne content on Twitter (not that I'm finding him attractive or anything /whistles) I stumbled upon an account called @OptaJoe, where it is talking about one of De Bruyne's statistics.

Image

Hey that style looks familiar! To erase any doubt, the bio of the account also employs the similar style. From the looks of it, this account seems to be well-established and mature, so I'm crediting them for this. So there you go, I just found out that this kind of writing style was from @OptaJoe.

(in case it's not, tell me who originated that style of writing!)

Despite not really following the Transformers movies, I am fond of Revenge of The Fallen only because several scenes became funnier due to censorship by local TVs. Particularly the famous (infamous?) scene where Alice, a bot in disguise, seduced Sam and Mikaela caught them. Due to the, uhh... robotic arm coming from her, uhh, vagina (unsurprisingly), the scene was heavily edited, usually by zooming in on Alice's face with her "tongue" coming in and out of her mouth, making it funny.

But I was recently rewatching this scene (it's available on MovieClips YouTube) and noticed something... Like, after both Mikaela and Leo barged into the room and discovered who Alice really was, someone was screaming wildly. I thought it was Mikaela's, but I just found out it's not - it was Sam's. OMG. Damn that was some good screaming!

I just found out that thatnorskchick2 had recently returned and started posting videos again!

I believe it's the quarantine, but who am I to know. This year's been really stressful tho, so her return was good. She's been posting a lot of folk songs (I always dig her songs, she's good at the lyrics too) and a continuation of It's Lara Croft, Bitch series hahahah. It's also good to see her doing okay.

Heads up! I'm going to make some changes regarding tags and naming of special posts in this journal.
  • I'm going to create a shorthand for each special post in this journal, because writing them can be kind of tedious, especially the [what happened during these four years?] one. GOD IT"S SO LONG HOW DID I DECIDE THIS WAS A GOOD NAME
    • The shorthand for [how did you find it?] is [how did you].
    • The shorthand for [I just found out] is [I just].
    • The shorthand for [what happened during these four years?] is [four years].
The titles will still use their original names, but whenever I want to mention them, I'll use the shorthand instead. Old posts will not be updated, but future posts will use this rule from now on. The intro post will also be updated to reflect this.
  • I've been using the underscore character (_) for [how did you] and [I just] tags (hdu_fi and i_just, respectively). Unfortunately they look kind of out of place with everything else, as they're the only tags using such character. Therefore, the hdu_fi tag is now known as how did you, and i_just is now i just.

I just found out that the XEBRA emulator development is still ongoing. At the time of this writing, the latest version was released on April 5th, 2020.

XEBRA is one of the more accurate PSX emulator out there, but is also one of the more heavy ones, along with difficult to understand UI. I wasn't bothering to check whether they had an update or not, as the version I was using before I discovered this fact was the 2011 release. GOD. That release was good, but sometimes the video and/or audio was stuttering, and I had no idea what actually caused it. Even in this modern PC this problem remains. Despite its somewhat heavy performance and hard of use, it's relatively straightforward, once you know how to do things, and when it works smoothly, it's great. I've been using it occasionally for some games. The way XEBRA emulates games helps getting through some graphical or technical bugs seen in other emulators, such as ePSXe.

This 2020 version feels much better, although I had to tweak the video settings to get the best results, based on what I've found around the internet. I've been replaying Front Mission 3 lately, and for some reason, I just want to play it on XEBRA. There are some new things in this version (actually, many of them have been slowly introduced over the years but I just discovered this today so yea) but I haven't had time to explore them all. Maybe later.

So I've been in a nostalgic mood and rereading Wikipedia article on Kleerup and Robyn's With Every Heartbeat. I have long known about the fact that there were two music videos for this song. One of them, the one with colorful blocks, is my favorite, since that's the one that was aired in local TVs here. However, I just found out that, according to Wikipedia, this particular music video is a tribute to Oskar Fischinger's work Komposition in Blau.

It's hard to find this short film around the internet, but there's an excerpt of it floating around in Vimeo. It does look like what we've seen in that With Every Heartbeat MV, they did a good job with the tribute.

I just found out this incredibly beautiful tourist destination in Grindelwald, Switzerland called First Cliff Walk by Tissot. AFAIK, that "by Tissot" must be included as I believe Tissot is a brand sponsor, but I could be wrong.

If you want to take a look at what it actually is, it's a metal walk by the cliffs around the area, at a quite high altitude. Here's the TripAdvisor page (you can change to English by scrolling to the bottom of the page and choose the language there). As you can see, the path can be quite difficult to walk through due to the jaggy cliff rocks. The best one I believe is the path that leads to dead end, offering you almost 270 degrees of pure panorama porn.

I myself found this from this Instagram (IGTV) post. I HIGHLY SUGGEST you check this one out! It's VERY, VERY beautiful. There are shots of the area in various weather, such as cloudy but sunny, and stormy (well more like cloudy but these clouds look like it's about to rain). Too bad the author didn't take a lot of angles in the stormy / cloudy one, as it's one of the most beautiful thing I've ever seen on earth (as long as there are no thunders...).

So you already know that I use Google Meet regularly at work, and I use it from my Android phone.

Today I just found out that Google rolled an update that looked like Google Meet functions are merged into Gmail. I wasn't too shocked when I was greeted with a new UI, but I was confused when the app asked for my permissions again, until I realized it said "Gmail" instead.

Some screenshots. )

This is the first [I just found out] post after the four year gap, huh?

I just found out how to tie the standard shoelace knot LOL. The link leads to Ian's shoelace site which is super informative. Ian says the knot is also commonly known as a "bunny rabbit" knot.

I mean I do know how to tie my shoes, but all this time I've been using another common shoelace knot. Ian's shoelace site names it the "two loop shoelace knot". Both give the same end result, although I feel that the standard shoelace knot produces a tighter knot. I could be wrong, though.
