Domino Recording Company (Creator)

Domino Recording Company (or just Domino) is an English independent record label from London founded by Laurence Bell and Jacqui Rice in 1993. Many of its early releases were by American bands whose recordings were licensed from companies such as Sub Pop and Drag City. (This made it something of a invoked Spiritual Successor to Blast First, another British label that began by licensing American Indie Rock.) However, Domino soon found success by signing British bands. It also started an American operation to sign US performers directly.

Notable music artists signed to this label include Arctic Monkeys, Franz Ferdinand, Wet Leg, Alex G, Neutral Milk Hotel and Animal Collective. Domino has also reissued the work of performers such as Buzzcocks, John Cale, Flipper, The Go-Betweens, Nico and Young Marble Giants.
