Anime Tenchou is a manga by Kazuhiko Shimamoto, which was serialized in Comic Zero Sum from 2003 to 2007. The manga features Meito Anizawa, the mascot of the real-life Animate store chain (whom fans outside of Japan will be more familiar with through his appearances in the anime adaptation of Lucky Star).As a new Animate shop is about to open, its manager gets attacked by a rival store! A young man named Meito Anizawa comes across the scene, fights the attackers off... and the beat-up manager asks Meito to take his job instead! Thus begins Meito Anizawa's new life as a shop manager...

- Animate Akihabara manager Guy Denki's name comes from Akihabara's nickname "Denki Gai" (Electric Town)
- Ryu Raiba, the rival character, whose name (Raiba Ryu) sounds similar to the Japanese pronounciation of "rival" - his name even gets Lampshaded.
- Work Com: A comedic manga set in an Animate store, focusing on the work life of the employees.
