We worked on ouchigari. I partnered with Chr.
One thing that TN-sensei noted is that with ouchi-gari, when you plant your foot on the second step, you want it to be deep. That gives you more room to move. If it's shallow, it will be hard to get the forward momentum required.
Then we worked on kouchi-gari to ouchi-gari. He said that the trick to good form with this combination is to put your foot down in between them. So, do the kouchi, put foot down, and follow through with the steps for ouchi. In randori or competition, you can move straight rom kouchi to ouchi, but in order to get the correct technique, it's better to practice with all the separate steps.
