spring thaw
Mar. 15th, 2003 03:05 pmSurfacing briefly to state for the record that I love my town. There's a co-op grocery a block from my apartment in one direction and a locally-owned hardware store a block in the other direction on the same street. I went out about half an hour ago to run errands at the hardware store (where tiny cast-iron pans and very large toboggans are both on sale at the moment and the owner's dog is being unusually well-behaved) and prepare for tomorrow's drive by getting some provisions at the co-op (figs, cranberries, almonds, grapefruit juice, etc.). Stepped out into sunshiny spring weather, wearing wellingtons (because of melting snow), jeans, t-shirt that says <GEEK> (courtesy of
renenet), motorcycle jacket, and hair that I just this morning cut back from approximating-a-grown-woman to 14-year-old-skater-boy. The t-shirt got admiring looks from half a dozen people, and the jacket and hair got me flirtations from the femme lingering over oranges at the co-op and the blue-haired babydyke buying trash bags at the hardware store. Must be spring.
And now: gotta plunge back into the pre-break whirlpool of activity. I am *really* looking forward to the coming week. Be catching up with you all soon...
