Ahahahaha. Well. Let's see. *consults playlist and notes*

I have:

twelve ideas that are actively begging for attention right now,
eight ideas that I fully intend to make but am in no rush to get around to (the Middleman vid was in this category until three months ago, so hey, you never know),
thirteen ideas that I would like to exist but that I may or may not ever exert myself to make,
one Star Trek reboot LKBV that I am 98% sure I will never make but that I leave on the vids-to-be playlist because just seeing it there makes me laugh, and
one idea in search of a song, except it's not really so much an idea as a sort of free-floating desire to make an Arrow ensemble vid, preferably for Club Vivid.

Oh, and I have a Star Trek reboot vid that's probably 2/3 done; I started it before I started working on The Test, but after I finished The Test I just sort of stopped caring about finishing the first one. For a while I nurtured the hope that the second reboot 'verse movie would get me interested again, but that... didn't happen.

Of the twelve active ideas, six have timelines with stuff on them; five of those six are complete jumbles (the vid equivalents of pre-draft notes), and one is probably 3/4 done, although there are big chunks of it I will probably end up rethinking and revising. And I really need to get back to it, since I am not, for the moment, fighting the vagaries of open canon.

I didn't get around to doing this post for 2008, so I'm just going to fold in the bits of 2008 that I remember. Which, at this point? Not a lot.

And I should end by saying that I'm actually feeling hopeful about vidding right now; I have a full draft of one vid that's currently in beta, and though there's a lot of work left to do on it, I think it's entirely possible that I could be posting a new vid before the end of the month (although I make no promises). And I've got another timeline almost half full — and the clips are pretty random at the moment, but I'm starting to see some patterns emerge, and for right now I'm content to just keep sifting through the clips until more stuff falls into place. All of which is to say that, for the first time in a long time, I'm feeling some real momentum in terms of vidding. It's a good feeling. No wonder I've missed it.

I haven't had time to vid in ages, which has been more than usually annoying because I have so many ideas I am excited about right now! But I thought, until a few days ago, that I had a plan: hold out until Thanksgiving, and then use my long weekend to work on Star Trek vids. Because, hey, shiny!

But.

Over the weekend I ended up with yet another Firefly vidsong (and thanks to all of you who put up with my foisting the song on you and flailing at you about it!), and not only am I really excited about the song (OMG I so am), I am now ALSO jazzed up about the Firefly vid that's been more or less (...okay, mostly less) in progress for many many months now. Not that I was ever not excited about it, but the energy is suddenly really focused again, and I want to drop everything and work on those vids.

Except.

Having just watched FNL 4x01 (about which more anon), I am more than ever excited about my vid ideas for that show, and *especially* for the idea that I got near the end of last season, because I can already tell that this season is going to be perfect for what I want to do there; which is great — one song for S1-3, one song for the end of S3 and S4. The only problem is that now I want to drop everything and work on THOSE vids.

And then of course there are the five Buffy vid ideas tugging at my sleeve — though, okay, only two of those are really pressing.

Still. Eight vids.

::facepalm::

I HAVE FOCUS PROBLEMS OKAY. (Have I mentioned that I cannot in good conscience take the time right now to work on ANY of these vids? On balance, I suppose I'd rather have ideas and no time than time and no ideas, or ideas but no enthusiasm, but MOSTLY I WANT A MONTH OFF IN ORDER TO VID.)

Aaaaaaaaaanyway. Speaking of Friday Night Lights...

I love this show so, so incredibly much. I still can't quite believe how much. But — yeah. Love.

Okay. Look. I already have two vids with clips in the timeline, and as of last week I've ripped all of BtVS and Gilmore Girls to my new vidding drive so that I can start a VividCon vid for each of those shows. I got smacked upside the head by a Friday Night Lights vidsong a few weeks ago; I keep waiting for my brain to realize that the song isn't going to work, but so far it's sticking. After watching the end of The Wire this weekend, my Wire vidsong (which I've had for a while) has been pounding on the inside of my head with renewed vigor. And — and! — this morning on my way in to work I was listening to a song that's been stuck in my head for weeks now and realized that it wants to be a Farscape vid — a Farscape vid that is very different from the three perfectly good Farscape vid ideas I already have (not to mention the extant vid that I still want to revise).

In conclusion, I need a sabbatical from the rest of my life so I can vid for the next six months.
