Uma formiga ou Bloco de formiga é um bloco introduzido na Edição Java 20w14∞ que se move quando colocado no topo de um concreto preto ou branco se movendo aleatóriamente como uma formiga de Langton
O bloco de formiga não pode ser obtido como um item mesmo usando o comando /give. Ele pode ser colocado com o uso de comandos como /fill ou /setblock, e é gerado naturalmente na dimensão "ant". Ele não pode ser destruído por ferramentas nem explosões.
Um bloco de formiga é gerado naturalmente na dimensão "ant", onde começa a se mover imediatamente.
O bloco uma formiga simula Formiga de Langton. Se colocado em cima de concreto preto ou branco, ele se moverá em um padrão determinístico, transformando o concreto embaixo dele em sua outra variação. O bloco de formiga é a máquina de Turing mencionada no registro de mudanças da atualização [1].
